Staff Correspondent: Lakshmipur-4 (Ramgati-Kamalnagar) constituency is a stronghold of BNP. There is grouping here regarding the nomination for the next parliamentary elections; however, there is no conflict, factionalism or conflict. BNP leaders and activists, who were paralyzed by the Awami League's lawsuits, attacks, fear and panic, are becoming more energetic and cheerful as the elections are counting down. Party leaders and activists believe that no matter how difficult the situation is, BNP will not be able to lose this seat if it goes to the elections. No other party will be able to snatch it away. The host event at the Ramgati house of former MP Ashraf Uddin Nijan before last Eid and the showdown in the constituency by Central Volunteer Dal President Shafiul Bari Babu after Eid have energized the party leaders and activists and supporters; they have been cheerful ever since. Lakshmipur-4 parliamentary constituency consists of two upazilas, Ramgati and Kamalnagar. Former BNP MP ABM Ashraf Uddin Nijan and Central Volunteer Party President Shafiul Bari Babu are hoping for nomination from this seat. Several leaders and activists are divided into two groups over the party nomination. However, they are seen united in any party program. The goal is to make the candidate of the paddy sheaf win in the next election. Meanwhile, Khaleda Zia's advisor, District BNP President Kamalnagar Upazila Parishad Chairman Advocate Syed Mohammad Shamsul Alam is also heard expecting nomination from this seat. Before the previous elections in which BNP participated, there were multiple candidates and groupings around the nomination. Later, it was seen that everyone stood by the party to whom the ticket was given. Together, they made the party candidate win. Most of the leaders and activists of all the organs and associate organizations including BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal and Swechchhash Dal are victims of cases filed by Awami League. There are several leaders against whom there are more than a dozen cases. The leaders and activists claim that those leaders and activists are becoming more tested due to lawsuits and attacks. They also said that they will eventually break the grouping and work together for the party to win the party candidate. It was learned from talking to leaders and activists at the ward, union, municipality and upazila levels that some of them have taken a stand for Ashraf Uddin Nijan due to their personal preferences, while others have taken a stand for Oni Shafiul Bari Babu. Whoever the party nominates at the center's decision, they will win the vote. Ramgati Upazila Volunteer Party President Abu Sayem Mohammad Shahin said that this seat is dominated by BNP. People from all classes and professions here love BNP and vote for it. In the next national parliament election, the party will nominate only the eligible candidate. The people here will vote for and elect the nominated candidate with the paddy sheaf symbol. All the BNP and all the units of the Sechva Sevak Dal are working around the election. Kamalnagar Upazila BNP General Secretary Nurul Huda Chowdhury said that BNP is a powerful and large political party. Ramgati-Kamalnagar is the stronghold of BNP. There is no grouping here. Everyone is one and united for the sake of the party. Jamal Uddin, General Secretary of Ramgati Upazila BNP, said that all the leaders and activists of this party are soldiers of Shaheed Zia's ideology. They are dedicated not to individuals but to the party. For the past 36 years, the party has been working for the welfare of the country and the people in a united and unified manner without any grouping. Politically conscious people think that Ramgati-Kamalnagar is the stronghold of BNP. Here, not individuals, but symbols are important.
