Lakshmipur: There have been allegations of obstruction of BNP leaders and activists at a Victory Day preparation meeting in Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur. At that time, in the presence of former MP ABM Ashraf Uddin Nijan, the police chased the party leaders and activists and dispersed them with batons. The incident took place in front of the Hazirhat party office in Kamalnagar upazila on Friday (December 15) afternoon. Eyewitnesses said that when former MP Ashraf Uddin Nijan reached the party office in Hazirhat Dakshin Bazar, the leaders and activists started raising slogans and started a procession. At that time, the police dispersed them. Former MP ABM Ashraf Uddin Nijan said, I went to the party office in Kamalnagar for a preparation meeting on the occasion of the great Victory Day. At that time, when the party leaders and activists went to welcome me with slogans, the police stopped them and chased them. The matter is very sad. This cannot be expected in any way in a democratic country. Kamalnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akul Chandra Biswas said that when BNP leaders and activists created obstacles on the road, the police removed them from the road.
