President, Prime Minister pay tribute at National Memorial

President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the great Victory Day at the National Memorial in Savar. At 6:35 am on Saturday, first the President and then the Prime Minister paid tribute by laying wreaths at the altar of the National Memorial.

After paying their respects, the President and Prime Minister stood in silence for a while to remember the martyrs. During this time, a mournful tune was played on the bugle. Later, Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury paid tribute on behalf of the National Assembly. Cabinet members, members of parliament and the heads of the army, navy and air forces were present at the time.

Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, as the Awami League president, along with the party's top leaders, paid tribute to the martyrs.
