Even though security guards and CCTV cameras are installed in the market, thefts are not being prevented; traders are panicking. The local market management committee and traders have complained to the administration in this regard, but they are not getting any results. On Wednesday (December 20), three shops were robbed by cutting open the cans of the shops. The gang of thieves took away about 1.5 lakh taka from the traders. Even after 3 months, the police have not been able to recover the stolen goods in that incident. In addition, thefts have occurred in several other shops and houses in the market. Traders said that despite the thefts happening one after another, the gang of thieves is not being stopped. Even after installing CCTV cameras, no results are coming.
