The ruling Awami League has outlined 21 promises in its election manifesto for the upcoming 11th parliamentary elections.

Party President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina began reading the manifesto at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital at 10:25 am today (Tuesday, December 18).
The goals and commitments outlined by the Awami League in its manifesto titled 'Bangladesh on the Path to Prosperity' are:

1. Expansion of modern urban facilities in every village

2. Transforming the youth into a skilled workforce and ensuring employment

3. Adopt a zero tolerance policy against corruption

4. Women's empowerment, gender equality and child welfare

5. Ensuring nutritious and safe food

6. Eradication of terrorism, militancy, communalism and drugs

7. Fast and quality implementation of mega projects

8. Strengthening democracy and the rule of law

9. Poverty eradication

10. Improving the quality of education at all levels

11. Ensuring quality healthcare for all

12. Greater use of digital technology for overall development

13. Ensuring electricity and energy security

14. Modern agricultural system - target mechanization

15. Efficient and public service-oriented administration

16. Building a people-friendly law enforcement agency

17. Blue Economy - Marine Resources Development

18. Ensuring safe roads

19. Elderly, Disabled and Autism Welfare

20. Sustainable development and inclusive development - prosperous Bangladesh
