Kamalnagar (Lakshmipur): Seven candidates collected nomination forms for the posts of chairman and vice chairman in the Upazila Parishad elections in Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur.

Seven candidates for chairman and vice chairman collected nomination forms from the office of the Upazila Returning Officer from Wednesday morning to evening. Among them, Upazila 14-party Oikyajote President Ed. Anwarul Haque, former Women's League leader Rebecca Mohsin, A-League member Haji Monirul Haque, former Jubo League president Fazlul Haque Sabuj, Central Ulama League Secretary Ma. Israfil, and Mahila A-League president Sajeda Akhter Sumi, former A-League leader's wife Nazmun Nahar Sultana collected nomination forms for the post of chairman.
Earlier on Tuesday, five candidates collected nomination forms. They are Upazila Jubo League leader Omar Faruk Sagar, A-League leader Ala Uddin Sabuj and former Chhatra League leader Zahidul Islam Rony for the post of male vice-chairman, Upazila Jubo Mohila League member and Jubo League leader's co-wife Sharmin Jahan Orin for the post of female vice-chairman, and former A-League women's leader Rokhsana Akhter Roxi collected the forms.
Upazila Election Office Assistant Md. Iqbal Hossain said that so far, 12 candidates for the posts of chairman, male, and vice chairman, female, have collected nomination forms.
Incidentally, voting will be held in Kamalnagar Upazila of Lakshmipur on March 24.
