19 candidates file nomination papers in Kamalnagar

Lakshmipur: In the third phase of the fifth upazila elections, a total of 19 candidates, including 9 for the posts of chairman, 7 for the posts of vice chairman and 5 for the posts of female vice chairman, have submitted their nomination papers in Ramgati and Kamalnagar of Lakshmipur.

On Tuesday evening, it was learned from the Kamalnagar Upazila Election Office that Upazila Awami League President AKM Nurul Amin Master, Upazila Awami League Women's Affairs Secretary Rebecca Begum, Awami League leader Advocate Anwarul Haque, Jubo League leaders Mezbah Uddin Bappi, Ahsan Ullah Hiron, Swechchhasebak League leader Abdur Rahman Didar, journalist Abdur Razzak and expatriate Nurul Amin Opi, and Bikalpak Dhara leader Nur Hossain Tipu have submitted their nomination papers for the post of chairman in Kamalnagar Upazila.
Awami League leader Haji Monirul Haque, Awami League leader Omar Faruk Sagar, former Jubo League president Fazlul Haque Sabuj, Alauddin Sabuj, Jahedul Islam Roni, Ulama League leader Md. Irafil, and 7 others are in the vice chairmanship.
Five people, including Awami League leaders Sajeda Akhter Sumi, Sharmin Akhter Orin, Awami League leaders Shahada Akhter Shahida, Ruksi and Sultana, submitted their nomination papers for the post of women's vice chairman.
