Videos have emerged of protesters burning images of a blogger, Kamran Husen, who is accused of posting propaganda against Islam and religious teachers in Bangladesh. The protesters, including members of Jamaat-e-Islami, and Chhatra Shibir, are calling for the blogger to be hanged.

According to the protesters, the blogger alleges on his website, www.search70.com  that he was raped as a child by his Jamaat-e-Islami Quran Teacher. They claim his website is filled with articles accusing clerics in Bangladesh of sexual abuse of boys. In particular, the protesters highlight articles where he argues that, because the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did not explicitly prohibit sexual abuse of boys, clerics are raping young children in their care. He even claims that by today’s standards, the Prophet of Islam would be considered a paedophile.

The protesters argue that these statements, along with other claims in his articles, amount to blasphemy. The ulama and clerics have publicly called for the blogger to be lynched.
