The campaign for the upcoming 11th parliamentary elections should be completed on Friday (December 28) before 8 am. In this case, the last campaign is at 7:59 am.

According to the People's Representation Order on Thursday (December 27), the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a circular in this regard in the light of a directive of the Election Commission and directed all the returning officers to implement the poison.

The circular signed by the Secretary of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs states that the People's Representation Order, ‘48 hours before the start of polling according to Article 78 of 1972 and the 48 hours of the polling will end within 48 hours of the next 48 hours i.e., from 8 am to 1 January 4 pm, any type of meeting, rally and procession. Can't be done.’

That is, all campaigning for the parliamentary elections should be stopped before 8 am on December 28. And on January 1, 2019, any campaign will be held until 4 pm. won't go

The ban on traffic is said to be prohibited, from 12:00 PM on the day before polling, taxi cabs, baby taxi/autorickshaws, microbuses, jeeps, pickups, cars, buses, trucks, tempos, launches, engine boats and speedboats will be applicable.

However, from midnight on December 29 to January 2 midnight, there will be a special place for more motorcycles or similar vehicles to be banned from the area.

The ban will also be relaxed in the case of national and election-related vehicles or boats and emergency service providers or similar vehicles.

According to the instructions of the Election Commission, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Shipping has already issued an order in this regard.

Voting for the 11th National Assembly elections will continue from 8 am to 4 pm on December 30 (Sunday).

This time, 39 registered parties have fielded candidates and 1,847 will contest in 300 seats in the addition of independent candidates.




Ershad calls emergency press conference

If police and RAB fail, army will come in to control the situation

Dhaka:

Election Commissioner Brigadier General (retd) Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury has said that if the police, RAB and BGB (Border Guard of Bangladesh) fail to control the voting environment, the armed forces will work to control the situation.

He said that the armed forces will not act as a striking force in this election, but will perform their duties according to sections 127 to 132 of the CrPC. If the police, RAB and BGB fail to control the election environment, then the armed forces will work to control the situation.

He made these remarks during a briefing at the control room of the Election Building on Thursday (December 27) afternoon. Brigadier General Saidul Islam, DG of the National Identity Card Division (NID), was also present at the time.

Regarding the 22 Jamaat candidates with the paddy sheaf symbol in the elections, Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury said, "We have to obey the court order. We will act according to the order that comes at the last minute. We are also prepared accordingly."
