আসন্ন একাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে লক্ষ্মীপুর-৪ (রামগতি-কমলনগর) আসনের দুই হেভিওয়েট প্রার্থী জাতীয় সমাজতান্ত্রিক দলের (জেএসডি) সভাপতি, জাতীয় ঐক্যফ্রন্টের অন্যতম নেতা আ স ম আবদুর রব ও মহাজোটের শরিক বিকল্পধারা বাংলাদেশের মহাসচিব মেজর (অব.) আবদুল মান্নানের মনোনয়নপত্র বৈধ ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে।

রোববার (২ ডিসেম্বর) মনোনয়নপত্র যাচাই-বাছাই শেষে রিটার্নিং কর্মকর্তা ও জেলা প্রশাসক (ডিসি) অঞ্জন চন্দ্র পাল তাদের মনোনয়নপত্র বৈধ ঘোষণা করেন।

রিটার্নিং কর্মকর্তার কার্যালয় সূত্রে জানা যায়, এ আসন থেকে স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থীসহ বিভিন্ন দলের ১০ জন মনোনয়নপত্র দাখিল করেন। এদের মধ্যে আ স ম রব, মেজর (অব.) মান্নান ও বর্তমান সংসদ সদস্য মোহাম্মদ আব্দুল্লাহসহ আটজনের মনোনয়নপত্র বৈধ হয়েছে

Dhaka: ভোটের মাঠে লড়াইয়ে নামার আগেই নিজের দোষ-গাফিলতিতে মনোনয়নপত্র বাতিল হয়েছে অনেক হেভিওয়েট প্রার্থীর। লড়াই জমার আগেই যেন শেষ হয়ে গেলো। বিএনপি-জাতীয়পার্টিসহ বিভিন্ন দলের স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থীদের ভাগ্য ঝুলছে এখন আপিলের ফলাফলের উপর।

রোববার (২ ডিসেম্বর) জাতীয় ঐক্যফ্রন্টের বড় বড় নেতার মনোনয়নপত্র বাতিলের মধ্যদিয়ে ধাক্কাটা শুরু হয়। ঢাকা-১ আসনে বিএনপির একজন প্রার্থীও টেকেননি। ফলে ভোটের লড়াইয়ের আগেই একটি আসনে আওয়ামী লীগ নেতৃত্বাধীন জোটের মনোনীত প্রার্থী বিজয়ের পথে এগিয়ে গেলেন এক ধাপ। যদিও আসনটিতে এখনো মহাজোটের চূড়ান্ত প্রার্থী নির্বাচিত হয়নি।

সেক্ষেত্রে কে হচ্ছেন এই আসনে আগামী দিনের আইনপ্রণেতা তা জানতে অপেক্ষা করতে হবে আগামী ৯ ডিসেম্বর পর্যন্ত। কেননা ওইদিন মনোনয়ন প্রত্যাহারের শেষ দিন। সেদিন যদি আওয়ামী জোটের একক প্রার্থী থাকেন তাহলে সেক্ষেত্রে আবারও বিনা ভোটে আইনপ্রণেতা হতে যাচ্ছেন জোটের কেউ।

এখানেই শেষ নয়, যাদের মনোয়নপত্র বাতিল করা হয়েছে তাদেরও সুযোগ থাকছে। এই পর্বে যারা বাতিল হয়েছেন তারা আবার রিটার্নিং কর্মকর্তার কাছে আপিল করতে পারবেন। আগামী ৩, ৪ ও ৫ ডিসেম্বরের মধ্যে আপিল করা যাবে। এরপর ৬, ৭ ও ৮ ডিসেম্বর আপিল নিষ্পত্তি হবে। সেক্ষেত্রে যাদের ছোটখাটো ভুল রয়েছে সেগুলো মার্জনা করে ফের প্রার্থিতা বহাল রাখার সুযোগও থাকবে।

যদি রিটার্নিং কর্মকর্তার কাছে আপিল করেও প্রার্থিতা বাতিল হয়ে যায়, সেক্ষেত্রে উচ্চ আদালতে যাওয়ার সুযোগ রয়েছে। সেখান থেকে নিষ্পত্তি হওয়ার পরে কেউ যদি আবার বৈধতা নিয়ে প্রশ্ন তোলে সেক্ষেত্রে আপিল বিভাগে আবেদনের পর নির্বাচিত হওয়ার পরেও প্রার্থিতা বাতিলের সুযোগ রয়েছে আইনে।

প্রাথমিকভাবে প্রথম পর্বেই মাঠের বাইরে চলে গেলেন অনেক বড় বড় নেতা, আলোচিত মুখ। বাদের তালিকায় সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী থেকে শুরু করে, মন্ত্রী, এমপিও রয়েছেন। আসন্ন একাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে কারাবন্দি বিএনপি চেয়ারপারন খালেদা জিয়ার ফেনী-১ (ছাগলনাইয়া, ফুলগাজী ও পরশুরাম)  আসনের মনোনয়নপত্র বাতিল করা হয়েছে।

দুর্নীতির দুই মামলায় সাজার কথা উল্লেখ করে মনোনয়নপত্র যাচাই-বাছাই শেষে রোববার (২ ডিসেম্বর) বেলা ১১টার দিকে  রিটার্নিং অফিসার ও জেলা প্রশাসক মো. ওয়াহিদুজ্জামান তা বাতিল ঘোষণা করেন।
শুনানির সময় তিনি বলেন, খালেদা জিয়া দু’টি মামলায় সাজাপ্রাপ্ত। জনপ্রতিনিধি অধ্যাদেশ ১৯৭২ অনুযায়ী তার মনোনয়নপত্রটি বাতিল করা হয়েছে। খালেদা জিয়া ফেনী ছাড়াও বগুড়া-৬ ও বগুড়া-৭ আসনে নির্বাচন করার ঘোষণা দিয়েছিলেন। একই কারণে সেই আসন দু’টিও বাতিল করা হয়েছে। যদিও বগুড়া-৬ থেকে বিকল্প প্রার্থী হিসেবে মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর মনোনয়নপত্র জমা দিয়েছেন।

অন্যদিকে জাতীয় ঐক্যফ্রন্টের আরেক নেতা কৃষক-শ্রমিক জনতা লীগের সভাপতি বঙ্গবীর কাদের সিদ্দিকীর টাঙ্গাইল-৮ আসনের মনোনয়নপত্রও বাতিল করা হয়েছে। তার বাতিলের কারণ দেখানো হয়েছে ঋণখেলাপি। এরআগেও এই আসনে দশম সংসদের উপ-নির্বাচনে প্রার্থী হয়েছিলেন। তখনও একই কারণে তার মনোনয়ন বাতিল করা হয়।

ঢাকা-১ আসনে ধানের শীষে কোনো প্রার্থীই আর টিকে নেই। এখানে বিএনপি বা জাতীয় ঐক্যফ্রন্টের কোনো প্রার্থীর মনোনয়নই গ্রহণ করা হয়নি। এই আসনে বিএনপির পক্ষে মনোনয়ন জমা দিয়েছিলেন নবাবগঞ্জ উপজেলা চেয়ারম্যান ঢাকা জেলা বিএনপির সাধারণ সম্পাদক খন্দকার আবু আশফাক, সংরক্ষিত নারী আসনের সাবেক এমপি ফাহিমা হোসাইন জুবলী ও নাজমুল হুদার সাবেক প্রেস সেক্রেটারি তারেক হোসেন। এদের কারও মনোনয়নই টেকেনি।

প্রাথমিক বাছাইয়ে বাদ পড়েছেন পটুয়াখালী-১ আসন থেকে জাতীয় পার্টির মনোনীত প্রার্থী, দলের মহাসচিব রুহুল আমিন হাওলাদার।

মামলার কারণে সাবেক প্রতিমন্ত্রী মীর মো. নাছির উদ্দিন ও তার ছেলে মীর মো. হেলাল উদ্দিনের চট্টগ্রাম-৫ আসনের মনোনয়নপত্র বাতিল করা হয়েছে। ফলে এখানেও ধানের শীষের প্রার্থিতা সংকট দেখা দিয়েছে।

শুধু এমপি হওয়ার জন্য শেষ মুহূর্তে দল পরিবর্তন করে বিএনপিতে যোগ দেন টক শো’র আলোচিত মুখ গোলাম মাওলা রনি। যিনি গত সিটি করপোরেশন নির্বাচনে ডিএনসিসিতে মেয়র আনিসুল হকের বিপক্ষে স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থী হিসেবে ভোট করে ১৮৬১ ভোট পেয়ে জামানত হারান। এবার আওয়ামী লীগ থেকে মনোনয়ন না পেয়ে শেষ পর্যন্ত বিএনপিতে যোগ দিয়ে ধানের শীষে ভোট করার সিদ্ধান্ত নেন।

তবে এতো দৌড়াদৌড়ির মধ্যে নিজের হলফনামায় স্বাক্ষর করতেই ভুলে গেছেন সাবেক এই আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা। যে কারণে তার মনোননপত্র বাতিল করা হয়েছে। একই কারণে হবিগঞ্জ-১ আসনের নৌকার প্রার্থী সাবেক সংরক্ষিত সংসদ সদস্য আমাতুল কিবরিয়া কেয়া চৌধুরীর মনোনয়নপত্রও বাতিল করা হয়েছে।

এই আসনে জাতীয় ঐক্যফ্রন্টের প্রার্থী সাবেক অর্থমন্ত্রী শাহ এএমএস কিবরিয়ার ছেলে রেজা কিবরিয়ার মনোনয়ন বাতিল করা হয়েছে ঋণখেলাপির কারণে। হলফনামায় স্বাক্ষর না থাকায় বাদ পড়েছেন মহাজোটের আরেক প্রার্থী বর্তমান এমপি ও বিরোধীদল জাতীয় পার্টির হুইপ সেলিম উদ্দিন। তিনি সিলেট-৫ আসনের জন্য মনোনয়নপত্র জমা দিয়েছিলেন।

যুদ্ধাপরাধী কাদের মোল্লার ফাঁসির দাবিতে শাহবাগে গণজাগরণ মঞ্চের সৃষ্টি হয়। সেই গণজাগরণ মঞ্চ থেকে আলোচনায় আসেন ডা. ইমরান এইচ সরকার। যিনি পরবর্তীতে শিক্ষামন্ত্রী নুরুল ইসলাম নাহিদের মেয়েকে বিয়ে করে পুনরায় আলোচনায় আসেন। এবার একাদশ সংসদ নির্বাচনে কুড়িগ্রাম-৪ আসন থেকে স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থী হিসেবে নির্বাচন করতে মনোনয়নপত্র জমা দিয়েছিলেন। আইনে আছে কেউ স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থী হতে চাইলে তাকে ওই আসনের মোট ভোটার কমপক্ষে এক শতাংশ ভোটারের স্বাক্ষর জমা দিতে হবে। এক্ষেত্রে ইমরান এইচ সরকার সেই শর্ত পূরণ করেননি। ফলে তার মনোনয়নপত্র বাতিল করা হয়েছে।

একই কারণে বগুড়া-৪ আসনের তারকা আশরাফুল ইসলাম আলম ওরফে হিরো আলমের মনোনয়নপত্র বাতিল করা হয়েছে। তিনি যে ভোটারদের তালিকা জমা দিয়েছিলেন তাদের মধ্যে তিনজন ভুয়া ভোটার ছিল। ঋণখেলাপির কারণে বাতিল হয়েছে লক্ষ্মীপুর-১ (রামগঞ্জ) আসনের বর্তমান সংসদ সদস্য এম এ আউয়ালের মনোনয়ন।

এই তালিকা আরও দীর্ঘ। তবে এদের কেউ হয়তো আপিলে টিকে যাবেন। কিন্তু আইনি জটিলতায় বিশেষ করে যাদের দুই বছরের বেশি সাজা আছে তাদের মনোনয়নপত্র শেষ পর্যন্ত নাও টিকতে পারে। চূড়ান্ত ফলাফলের জন্য অপেক্ষা করতে হবে আরও কয়েকদিন।



Global School and College is the best in JSC in Kamalnagar

Lakshmipur: Global School and College in Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur has achieved the best results in the upazila in the JSC examination. Teachers, students, guardians and education enthusiasts are overwhelmed by such results.
According to the Upazila Secondary Education Office and school sources, in the current JSC examination, 4 students from Global School got Golden A-Plus and 12 got A-Plus. Out of 58 candidates from this institution, 55 passed the examination. In terms of results, this school is ahead of all other schools in Kamalnagar Upazila.
Global School and College President Master Humayun Kabir and Principal Mostaq Ahmed said that everyone is satisfied with the results and hopes to maintain success in the future and achieve a 100% pass rate.

Incidentally, the journey of Global School and College began in 2015. In that year, students admitted to the 6th grade participated in this year's JSC examination. Students from this educational institution participated in the JSC examination for the first time. উপজেলা ছাত্রলীগের আহবায়ক ইবনে জিসাদ আল নাহিয়ান এর সভাপতিত্বে ও যুগ্ন আহবায়ক কনক ক্বারীর পরিচালনায় বক্তব্য রাখেন, জেলা আওয়ামী লীগের কৃষি ও সমবায় বিষয়ক সম্পাদক আবদুল মতলব, জেলা ছাত্রলীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক রাকিব হোসেন লোটাস, সহ-সভাপতি সোহাগ পাটোয়ারী, যুগ্ন সাধারণ সম্পাদক শাহনেওয়াজ হীরা, লক্ষ্মীপুর সরকারী কলেজ শাখা ছাত্রলীগের সভাপতি সাইফুল ইসলাম রকি প্রমুখ।
এসময় বক্তারা বলেন, গত ২৭ ডিসেম্বর সন্ধ্যায় সদর উপজেলা ছাত্রলীগের যুগ্ন আহবায়ক হৃদয় সাহা কে আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী শহরের আর্দশ সামাদ উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ের সামনে থেকে আটক করে নিয়ে যায়।

পরে একটি হত্যা মামলায় তাকে গ্রেফতার দেখানো হয়। এসময় বক্তাদের দাবী হৃদয় সাহা খুনের ঘটনার সাথে জড়িত নয়, তাকে ষড়ষন্ত্রমূলক ভাবে জড়ানো হয়েছে। অবিলম্বে হৃদয় সাহার মুক্তি ও মিথ্যা মামলা প্রত্যাহার করার জোর দাবী জানানো হয়। পরে একটি বিক্ষোভ মিছিল শুরু হয়ে শহরের গুরুত্বপূর্র্ণ সড়ক প্রদক্ষিণ শেষে উত্তর তেমুহনী এলাকায় গিয়ে শেষ হয়।



Student commits suicide after failing JSC exam in Lakshmipur

It has been reported that a student named Sanjida Sultana Srabanti committed suicide after failing to pass the JSC exam in Lakshmipur.
(Today) Police recovered the body of the deceased hanging around 9 am on Sunday and sent it to the Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital morgue. Earlier in the morning, family sources said that Srabanti committed suicide by hanging herself with a veil around the door frame of her own house. The deceased student is the daughter of Md. Shaheen of Charuruhita village in Sadar upazila and a student of the local Rasulganj Bahumukhi High School.
The deceased's uncle Mahbubur Rahman, local UP chairman and school managing committee president Humayun Kabir Patwary confirmed the matter. However, no one agreed to say anything in front of the camera.
Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Lokman Hossain said the student's body has been recovered and sent to the hospital for autopsy.

গণতন্ত্র ও ভোটের অধিকার ফিরে পেতে বাংলাদেশের সংগ্রামী মানুষকে ঐক্যবদ্ধ হয়ে কাজ করার আহ্বান জানিয়ে তিনি আরও বলেন, ‘গত বছরের বেশকিছু তিক্ত অভিজ্ঞতা, স্বজন হারানোর বেদনা এবং অধিকার হারানোর যন্ত্রণা আগামী বছরে আমাদের একদিকে যেমন বেদনার্ত করবে। অন্যদিকে নতুন উদ্যমে অধিকার ফিরে পেতে তাগিদ সৃষ্টি করবে। বাংলাদেশসহ বিশ্বময় সংঘাত আর অশান্তির ঘটনা প্রবাহে নতুন বছরটিকে গণতন্ত্র, শান্তি ও অগ্রগতির বছরে পরিণত করতে আমাদের সবাইকে একযোগে কাজ করতে হবে।

বাণী‌তে বিএন‌পি চেয়ারপার্সন ব‌লেন, বাংলাদেশে অজস্র রক্তঋণে অর্জিত গণতন্ত্র অপহৃত হয়েছে। গণবিরোধী শক্তি জনগণের সকল অধিকারকে বন্দী করে রেখেছে। এমতাবস্থায় সকল গণতান্ত্রিক শক্তির মিলিত সংগ্রামে বহুদলীয় গণতন্ত্রকে পুনরুদ্ধার করতে হবে। নতুন বছরটি সবার জীবনে বয়ে আনুক বিজয়, অনাবিল সুখ ও শান্তি, বাংলাদেশসহ সারা বিশ্বে প্রবাহিত হোক শান্তির অমিয় ধারা, দূর হয়ে যাক সব অন্যায়-উৎপীড়ন, নির্যাতন।

খালেদা জিয়া আরও বলেন, ‘বন্ধ হোক হত্যা, গুম, খুন, যুদ্ধ বিগ্রহ ও অমানবিকতাসহ সকল ধরণের দমনমুলক নৃশংসতা-নববর্ষের শুরুতে আমি এ কামনা করছি সকলের অব্যাহত সুখ, স্বাচ্ছন্দ, শান্তি ও সমৃদ্ধি।’



Zia's multi-party democracy was the rehabilitation of war criminals'’

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that Zia's democracy was about war criminals. Rewarding and rehabilitating them was his multi-party democracy.

He made this statement while speaking as the chief guest at a public meeting organized by the District Awami League at the Central Idgah Maidan in Jessore on Sunday afternoon.

The Prime Minister further said, 'After the assassination of the Father of the Nation, this country became a country of murder, coups, and curfews. A reign of looting was established in this country. Those who illegally seized power used to run the country by imposing curfews. Zia used to run the country in a frightening environment by imposing curfews.'‘

Sheikh Hasina said, 'Zia's democracy was about war criminals. Zia's multi-party democracy was about rewarding war criminals who did not want the independence of this country, who insulted the dignity of the mothers and sisters of this country, who handed them over to the Pakistani invaders, and who committed brutal genocide.'‘

District Awami League President Shahidul Islam Milon presided over the meeting.

Earlier, upon reaching the public meeting stage, the Prime Minister inaugurated 18 projects for the development of Jessore and laid the foundation stones of 12 projects.



How to know the results of primary final and JSC-JDC

The results of the Primary Education Completion and Ebtedayee Education Completion and Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations are being published on Saturday (December 30). The results will be available through SMS on mobile and the internet.

Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman and Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will hand over the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 11 am and 12 noon, respectively, at Ganabhaban. Later, the two ministers will hold a press conference at the Secretariat to present the results in detail.

The Minister of Mass Education will present the details of the results at a press conference at the Secretariat at 1 pm, said the ministry's public relations officer Rabindranath Roy. And the press conference of the Ministry of Education will be held at 2 pm, said public relations officer Afrazur Rahman. From then on, students will receive the results.

The results of the preliminary final and Ebtedayi will be available at www.dpe.gov.bd and http://dperesults.teletalk.com.bd.

A total of 30 lakh 96 thousand 75 students participated in the primary and ebtedayi final examinations held from November 19 to 26. Of these, 28 lakh 4 thousand 509 participated in the primary final examinations and 2 lakh 91 thousand 566 participated in the ebtedayi. The examinations were held at 7 thousand 267 centers in the country and 12 centers abroad, with a total of 600 marks, 100 marks in each of the six subjects.

In primary education, the number of male students is 1,299,985 and the number of female students is 1,545,524. In pre-primary education, the number of male students is 1,53,152 and the number of female students is 1,38,414.

The primary final examination for fifth grade students began in 2009. And in Ebtedayi, this examination has been taking place since 2010. Although results were given based on departments for the first two years, the final results of younger students have been given using the grading system since 2011. Earlier, the examination time was two hours, but from 2013, half an hour was increased to two and a half hours.

The JSC-JDC exams began on November 1 and ended on November 18. This year, students from 28,628 educational institutions participated in 2,834 centers. The total number of examinees is 2,468,820. Out of these, 1,144,778 are male students and 1,324,042 are female students.

The total number of candidates for JSC is 20,090,277 and for JDC, 378,543. The number of male students in JSC is 9,71,336 and the number of female students is 1,118,941. The number of male students in JDC is 1,73,442 and the number of female students is 2,05,101.

This time, 659 students participated in the exam at nine centers abroad.
