না হলে আত্মহত্যা করব। ’’

এ নিয়ে দ্বিতীয় বার সানির অনুষ্ঠানের বিরোধিতা করল কর্নাটক রক্ষণা বৈদিক যুব সেনা। তাঁদের এই আচরণ বলিউডের বিভিন্ন মহলে সমালোচিত হয়েছে বলে খবর।

লক্ষ্মীপুরের রায়পুর উপজেলার বামনী ইউনিয়নের বাংলাবাজার থেকে খায়ের হাট সড়কের একটি কালভার্ট ভেঙে পড়ায় উপজেলার মধ্যে গত তিনদিন যাবত্ সড়ক যোগাযোগ বন্ধ রয়েছে। এতে ইউনিয়নের প্রায় ১০ গ্রামের জনসাধারণ চরম দুর্ভোগে পড়েছেন। গত মঙ্গলবার বিকালে সড়ক দিয়ে একটি মালবাহী বড় ট্রাক পার হয়ে গেলে মিয়ার বাড়ির সামনের কালভার্টটি হঠাত্ ভেঙে যায়। এলাকাবাসী জানান, বামনী ইউনিয়নের বাংলাবাজার থেকে খায়ের হাট সড়কের মিয়ার বাড়ির সামনের দুপাশে খালে ক্যানেল মিলিত হয়েছে। এ খালের উপরে নির্মিত পুরনো কালভার্টটি সংস্কারের অভাবে কিছুদিন আগে কিছু অংশ ধসে যায়। সর্বশেষ কালভার্টের উপর দিয়ে একটি মালবাহী ট্রাক পারাপার হতে গিয়ে তা ভেঙে পড়ে। ফলে এ সড়ক দিয়ে যাতায়াতকারী ট্রাক, হিউম্যান ও সিএনজি চলাচল বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে। এতে গত তিনদিন ধরে ইউনিয়নের ১০ গ্রামের মানুষের যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে পড়েছে। উপজেলা শহরে এ সড়ক দিয়ে চলাচলের সুযোগ না থাকায় তাদেরকে অতিরিক্ত প্রায় পাঁচ কি.মি. ঘুরে যেতে হচ্ছে। এতে তাদের খরচ ও ঝুঁকি দুটোই বাড়ছে। উপজেলা প্রকৌশলী আক্তার হোসেন ভূইয়া জানান, কালভার্টটি খারাপ থাকায় সংস্কারের জন্য আরও একমাস আগে ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান জানিয়েছেন। ওই সময় কালভার্টটি পুনর্নির্মাণের জন্য আবেদন করেছি। তবে ভেঙে পড়ার বিষয়টি আমাদের কেউ জানায়নি। এখন অল্প সময়ের মধ্যেই কাজ শুরু হবে।

বাবা আমতে গ্রামের মানুষদের পাশেই সর্বদা থাকতে চেয়েছিলেন। চেয়েছিলেন তাদের জন্যই কাজ করে যেতে। সেই ইচ্ছে পরবর্তীকালেও মূর্ত রূপ পায় ড. প্রকাশ আমতের উদ্যোগে। তবে এই ধরনের উদ্যোগের পিছনেও রয়েছে আরও একটি মর্মস্পর্শী ঘটনা।

শোনা যায়, একদিন জঙ্গলের মধ্যে ড. প্রকাশ এবং তার স্ত্রী যাচ্ছিলেন। এসময় তারা হঠাৎ দেখেন, একদল মানুষ কিছু বাঁদরকে বেঁধে নিয়ে যাচ্ছে। তখন তারা হতচকিত হয়ে যান। তারা ওই দলটিকে গিয়ে বলেন, যদি বাঁদরগুলোকে নাম মেরে তাদের দিয়ে দেওয়া হয় তাহলে গ্রামবাসীদের সাহায্য করবেন এই দম্পতি। সেদিন থেকেই তারা ঠিক করে নেন বাকি জীবনটা এই হেমলকাসা গ্রামেই কাটাবেন।

এখন শুধু এই দম্পতিই নন, তাদের পরবর্তী দুই প্রজন্মও এই ভালোবাসার ভাষাতেই বিশ্বাসী।
