BNP protest and rally in Lakshmipur

Leaders and activists of the district BNP and its affiliated organizations held a protest and rally in Lakshmipur town at 3 pm on Friday to protest the arrest of all leaders and activists, including Saifuddin Khaled, the 1st joint convener of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila BNP and General Secretary of 17th Bhabaniganj Union BNP.
The protest rally was held at Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie's residence in Lakshmipur, chaired by Sadar Upazila BNP President Main Uddin Chowdhury Riaz, with former MP Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, the propaganda secretary of the central BNP, present as the chief guest.
The meeting was attended by District BNP Senior Vice President Sirajul Islam, District BNP Joint General Secretary Nizam Bhuiyan, District Jubo Dal General Secretary Saiful Islam Shahin, Chairman of No. 15 Laharkandi Union Mashiur Rahman (Moshu), President of No. 17 Baniganj Union BNP Mohibul Alam Swapan, Convener of Sadar Upazila Sechchhasebak Dal Saifuzzaman, District Chhatra Dal Senior Vice President Faiz Ahmed and others.




Painting competition in Lakshmipur

Lakshmipur: A painting competition was organized in Lakshmipur to mark the recognition of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's March 7th speech by UNESCO.

Lakshmipur Shishu Academy organized the event at the Zilla Parishad auditorium on Friday (November 17) afternoon.

After the competition, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Lakshmipur District Child Affairs Officer Abdullah Al Jabbar. Patient named Fatima dies due to wrong treatment in Lakshmipur: 4 people including doctor arrested

Lakshmipur: Relatives of a patient named Fatema Begum (45) have alleged that she died due to wrong treatment at SMK Hospital (Private Ltd.) in Chandraganj, Lakshmipur. Police have arrested four people, including a doctor, in this incident.

The incident took place on Friday (November 17) morning. After the incident, the patient's relatives also alleged that the hospital authorities tried to cover up the matter by resorting to fraud. However, the police station refused to provide any information to the media.

The deceased's brother Ismail Hossain said that Fatema was admitted to SMK Hospital in Chandraganj on Thursday afternoon after suffering from a uterine tumor. Later, Fatema was taken to the operation theater under the supervision of Doctor Kazi Faiza Akhter (Gynecologist and Obstetrician at Green Life Medical College and Hospital). The doctor left the operation theater in the morning and searched for her relatives. At that time, Fatema was asked to be taken to Comilla from that hospital. But Ismail said that Fatema had already died due to wrong treatment.

No one was found at the hospital to inquire about this. Earlier, it was learned that the police had arrested four people from the hospital, including accused Dr. Kazi Faiza Akhter, Professor Dr. Golam Main Uddin, and Alamgir, and taken them to the police station.

15 female Jamaat workers arrested in Lakshmipur

 Lakshmipur: Police have arrested 15 female Jamaat workers on charges of holding a secret meeting in Lakshmipur. They were arrested from the Kamankhola area of Dalal Bazar in Sadar Upazila on Thursday (November 16) evening. The detainees are Pakhi Akhter, Ruby Begum, Tahera Begum, Hiron Begum, Salma Begum, Tania Begum, Pinki Akhter, Sumi Akhter, Lucky Begum, Bakul Begum, Sweety Akhter, Bakul, Fatema Begum, Tania and Zahera. They are residents of different villages of Dalal Bazar union. However, the party designation and detailed identity of the detainees are not known. 2 arrested for torturing child worker Sohel in Lakshmipur
