Following complaints lodged by Bangladesh Chhatra League to the police for action against Yesmin Rukaya, the editor of www.provatbangla.com for spreading anti-Awami League propaganda, the police have now confirmed that they have established the identity of Yesmin Rukaya from information from her website and a visit to her residential address in Jashore. According to the police, Yesmin Rukaya is currently overseas, but she will be arrested upon return to Bangladesh for offences under the Cyber Security Act 2023, which allows the police to arrest anyone without an arrest warrant.

Facebook and Instagram users around the world are still not getting full service. Many users are facing problems accessing the platform. They are also facing outages in viewing photos and profile pictures, which has affected users in several countries including India. This has caused frustration among fans. Many have sought alternative social media platforms to express their dissatisfaction.

The founders of Instagram, Meta, and Facebook have not officially provided any specific information about the outage. However, WhatsApp subscribers, who are part of Meta, did not experience any problems.

In India alone, more than 20,000 reports (complaints) were emailed. All the problems are mainly concentrated in major cities. Registered users in Australia, Brazil, Canada, the UK and the US have also faced Facebook outages. According to admin (Meta), technical issues sometimes require updates, which has caused some disruption to customer service. The problem is resolved quickly. The existing problem will also be resolved gradually. There is nothing to worry about now. Facebook victims were worried about the immediate problem. Meta worked quickly to resolve it.

Registered users also experienced outages using Meta's messaging platform and Threads app. Meta quickly acknowledged the issue and said it was actively working to resolve the issue. Restoration efforts will continue until all services are fully operational.

Social media platforms Facebook, Messenger and Instagram were out of service on Tuesday night. Meta's popular social media platform Facebook was down for about an hour and a half. The social media platform was down from 9pm to 10:30pm Bangladesh time on Tuesday. Facebook users were unable to log in to their accounts due to a technical glitch. This caused a global uproar. As users became concerned about their IDs and important information, a war of words broke out between the two social media rivals.  

In this regard, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and Threads apps, wrote on his handle on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) at 9:39 pm, "Chill guys, wait a few minutes, everything will be fine."

‘A fraudster and two associates have been arrested on charges of defrauding people by sending them abroad under the guise of 'MP Mizanur'. Parliament security personnel arrested three members of the fraudster gang during the National Parliament session last Saturday. They are on a three-day remand at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station in the capital.

This gang has extorted crores of taka from at least 40 people by promising to send them to the European country Kosovo. The fake MP Shamimur Rahman alias Atiq alias MP Mizanur was assisted in this work by Rahul Hossain, a computer operator appointed as the master roll of the Parliament Secretariat. Through him, the alleged MP used to collect passes to enter the Parliament and regularly come and go to the Parliament. In addition, numerous people who wanted to go abroad were cheated by giving them the opportunity to enter the Parliament with the gate passes.

The victims of the fraud, Mehedi Hasan of Barguna, Nahidul Islam of Natore and Aminul Haque of Habiganj, have filed a case against Shamimur Rahman and his associates at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station. The investigation officer of the case, Sub-Inspector Anwar Hossain Khan, told Samakal on Wednesday night that the three-day remand of the accused will end on Thursday. The case has been filed on charges of impersonating an MP and embezzling Tk 16 lakh 92 thousand by cheating. An investigation is underway.

Mehedi Hasan, the plaintiff in the case, said that Shamimur Rahman alias Mizanur's home is in Jagatpur, Titas Upazila, Comilla. In Dhaka, he lives in Mohammadpur Housing Society. He also implicated his wife Moutusi Rahman in the fraud. One of Mizanur's associates was Rahul Hossain, a computer operator who was appointed to the master roll of the Parliament Secretariat. His home is in Kamalpur, Mithamoin, Kishoreganj district. In Dhaka, he lives in Satmasjid Housing, Mohammadpur.

Mehedi Hasan alleged that Shamimur Rahman introduced himself as MP Mizanur and collected blood samples from him through Rahul, the computer operator of the Parliament House, claiming to be sending him to Kosovo with a government job. Mizanur charged 594,000 taka for medical fees at various times. The last time he charged 66,000 taka on the ground floor of the Parliament House on February 29.
The case report states that Mizanur took Tk 660,000 from 40 people for medical fees and Tk 92,000 each for emergency police clearance from 23 people. Last Friday, he took Tk 940,000 from 15 people at the Metsafe restaurant on the second floor of the Parliament Club, saying that a team from the Kosovo Embassy would come to interview those interested in going abroad.

People started to suspect Mizanur as there was no embassy team during the interview. At one point, they learned that Mizanur was a fake MP and the woman posing as a representative of the Kosovo embassy on the interview board was his wife, Moutusi Rahman.

The two-day 'Nazrul Festival 2024' is starting tomorrow at the capital's Gulshan Society Lake Park. The festival, organized by Bangladesh Nazrul Sangeet Sangstha, Gulshan Society and the Indira Gandhi Cultural Center of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, will be inaugurated by Social Welfare Minister Dr. Dipu Moni. This is the third time this festival is being held.

About fifty artists from Bangladesh and India will perform songs in the event, the organizers announced at a press conference at the Sagar-Runi Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity at 11:30 am on Wednesday.

Khairul Anam Shakil, general secretary of Nazrul Sangeet Sangstha and convener of the festival celebration committee, read out a written speech at the conference. Gulshan Society President Omar Sadat, festival coordinator Hitanshu Chakraborty, Kalpana Anam, Nazrul Sangeet Sangstha organizing secretary Mahmudul Hasan, among others, spoke at the event.

The press conference informed that the festival will feature songs, recitations and dances by national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Leading Nazrul music artists of Bangladesh including Khairul Anam Shakil, Yasmin Mushtari, Nasheed Kamal, Ferdous Ara will perform.

Monomoy Bhattacharya, Raghav Chatterjee, Pandit Tushar Dutt, Sriradha Banerjee, Payel Kar, Debarati Chakraborty will come to sing from India. In addition, many other famous artists from all over Bangladesh will also sing at this event.

Like every year, 125 Nazrul songs sung in pure tunes and lyrics will be officially released on YouTube during the festival. These songs, recorded with professional instruments, have been sung by vocalists from Bangladesh and West Bengal as well as North America and Australia.

Festival committee convener Khairul Anam Shakil said, "It is the demand of the hour to present the entire works of our national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam to the general public in a pure manner. We have been organizing 'Nazrul Utsab' every year to introduce the wider public to the ongoing activities we have undertaken to propagate Nazrul music in pure tunes and words. Our aim is to spread and develop the ideals and non-communal spirit of our beloved poet among the new generation through this festival."

He further said, "Various efforts are ongoing to prevent the distortion of Nazrul's songs. This mission has not been completely successful. But our efforts will continue. This festival will inspire the new generation of children. They will be able to know our national poet Nazrul Islam better. Everyone will know his philosophy of life, what he was like as a person, and what contribution he made to music."

It is the responsibility of all of us to protect the literature and music of our national poet. The country's popular singer Monir Khan had said that his verified Facebook page was hacked on September 27 last year. He also took legal action to recover the page. After a long five months, the singer known as 'Anjana' breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, Monir Khan got his Facebook page back. The verified page was handed over to Monir Khan on March 2.

After that, the singer posted a status on Facebook. He wrote, 'Alhamdulillah, the Facebook page is finally free from the clutches of hackers. I was finally saved from the evil circle. The hacked verified page has been restored. This was possible because of the prayers and love of fans and well-wishers spread around the world. Many thanks to those who helped recover the page.'

The singer also wrote, "From now on, my viewers and listeners will once again receive regular updates on new songs. I will be able to communicate with them regularly."

Monir Khan's Facebook page has more than 2 million followers. He also has two YouTube channels, 'Monir Khan' and 'MK Music 24'. The National Film Award-winning artist regularly releases new songs on both channels.

বিএনপির সরকারবিরোধী এক দফা আন্দোলনে নিহত আব্দুর রশীদের পরিবারের পাশে দাঁড়িয়েছে দলটি। বিএনপির ভারপ্রাপ্ত চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমানের পক্ষ থেকে আজ মঙ্গলবার আব্দুর রশীদের পরিবারের হাতে আর্থিক অনুদান তুলে দেওয়া হয়।

গুলশানে দলের চেয়ারপারসনের রাজনৈতিক কার্যালয় থেকে এই অনুদান তুলে দেন ঢাকা মহানগর উত্তর বিএনপির সদস্য সচিব আমিনুল হক। এছাড়া রশীদের সন্তানদের লেখাপড়ার দায়িত্বও নেন।

গত বছরের ২৯ অক্টোবর রাজধানীর মোহাম্মদপুর এলাকায় ছাদ থেকে ফেলে রশীদকে হত্যা করা হয়েছে বলে দাবি দলটির। তিনি আদাবর থানার সাবেক যুবদল নেতা এবং আদাবর থানা ৩০ নম্বর ওয়ার্ড বিএনপির স্থানীয় সরকারবিষয়ক সম্পাদক ছিলেন। ওইদিন হরতালের সমর্থনে মিছিল শেষে ফেরার সময় আওয়ামী লীগের নেতাকর্মীরা পিটিয়ে একটি নির্মাণাধীন ভবনের ছাদ থেকে ফেলে তাঁকে হত্যা করেছে বলে জানান আমিনুল হক।

তিনি জানান, আব্দুর রশীদের দুই শিশু সন্তান। এদের মধ্যে একজন তৃতীয় শ্রেণির ছাত্রী। আরেকজন দ্বিতীয় শ্রেণির ছাত্র। তাদের পুরো লেখাপড়ার পাশাপাশি অন্যান্য খরচও দল থেকে বহন করা হবে।

আমিনুল হক জানান, আন্দোলনের মধ্যে সারাদেশে একটি ভীতিকর পরিস্থিতি তৈরি করতেই আব্দুর রশীদকে পরিকল্পিতভাবে ছাদ থেকে ফেলে হত্যা করা হয়েছে।
