৪নভেম্বর (শুক্রবার) সকাল ১০ টায় রামগঞ্জ সরকারি কলেজ মাঠে শত শত মানুষের উপস্থিতিতে জানাজা শেষে অশ্রুসিক্ত চিরবিদায়ের মধ্য দিয়ে পৌরসভার সাতারপাড়া হাসানআলী পাটোয়ারী বাড়ির নিজ পারিবারিক কবরস্থানে তাকে চিরনিদ্রায় শায়িত করা হয়।

রামগঞ্জ সরকারি কলেজ মাঠ মুখরিত হয় শোকাহত মুসল্লিদের পদভারে।

চোখে অশ্রু আর নীরব বেদনা নিয়ে মানুষ অংশ নিলেন রহমত উল্যাহ পাটোয়ারীর নামাজে জানাজায়। জানাজা শেষে মানুষ ছুটেন তার কফিনের দিকে। নিথর দেহে কফিনবন্দি রহমত উল্যাহকে দেখতে ভীড় জমান সর্বস্তের মানুষ। মরহুমের নিজ এলাকা নন্দনপুর, সাতারপাড়াসহ রামগঞ্জ উপজেলা ও আশপাশের এলাকার মানুষ কাঁদছে নীরবে, তারা স্তব্ধ রহমত উল্যাহর অকাল মৃত্যুতে। সবার মুখে একই কথা। মরহুম রহমত উল্যাহ যখন যাকে যেখানেই দেখতেন, সালাম দিতেন এবং হাসিমুখে করে কথা বলতেন।

জানা যায়, সৌদি আরবে গত শুক্রবার (৩০ সেপ্টেম্বর২০২২) ফুটবল খেলার সময় হঠাৎ বুকে ব্যাথা উঠে রহমত উল্যাহ পাটোয়ারীর। পরবর্তীতে হসপিটালে নেওয়ার পর ডাক্তার জানায় সে স্টোক করে মারা গেছে। তার মৃত্যুর ১ মাস ৫ দিন পর ৩নভেম্বর বৃহস্পতিবার বিকেল ৪টায় ঢাকা শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমান বন্দরে মরহুম রহমত উল্যাহর লাশ এসে পৌঁছায়।
মরহুম রহমত উল্যাহর বড় ভাই সাংবাদিক মোঃ রাজু হোসেন জানান, ভাইয়ের এ অকাল মৃত্যুতে তাদের পরিবারে চরম শোকের ছায়া নেমে আসে। তার এই মৃত্যু কোনভাবেই মেনে নিতে পারছেনা রহমতের পরিবার। তিনি তার ভাইয়ের জন্য সবার নিকট দোয়া কামনা করেন।

মরহুম রহমত উল্যাহর ২ বছরের ফুটফুটে একটি কন্যা সন্তান রয়েছে বলে জানা গেছে।

এই সময় সংবিধান দিবসটির উপলক্ষে আলোচনায় সভায় উপস্থিতি ছিলেন, তজুমদ্দিন উপজেলা আওয়ামীলীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক আলহাজ্ব ফজলুল হক দেওয়ান, তজুমদ্দিন থানা অফিসার ইনচার্জ মাকসুদুর রহমন মুরাদ, হোসনেয়ারা চৌধুরী মহিলা কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ হেলাল উদ্দিন সুমন, প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়ন কর্মকর্তা ইঞ্জিনিয়ার সেলিম রেজা, মুক্তিযুদ্ধা শাহাবুদ্দিন মাষ্টার, বিএ মোফাজ্জল সহ তজুমদ্দিন উপজেলা দাপ্তরিক কর্মকর্তা, রাজনীতি ব্যক্তিবর্গ সহ অনেকেই উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

যৌথ বাহিনীর সন্ত্রাসবিরোধী অভিযানের কারণে পার্বত্য জেলা বান্দরবানের চারটি উপজেলায় পর্যটকদের ভ্রমণ নিষেধাজ্ঞা আরও চার দিন বাড়িয়েছে সরকার।

Another member of the team, Sreejit Sarkar Sreeyam, has a slightly different story. The person who encouraged him the most in playing chess suddenly left for the country of no return. Sreejit lost interest in playing chess. With his mother's encouragement, he entered the 'Mark's Active School Chess Champs' competition. However, Sreejit Sarkar Sreeyam's beginning was like a beautiful story. 'When I was only seven years old, I first saw one of my uncles playing chess. Seeing the game, I became very interested. That's when I wanted to learn the game from my uncle.' Sreejit said, 'My uncle also taught me the game with joy. I used to practice with my uncle regularly. I never faced any obstacles from the family. However, my father was my rival and coach.' With the encouragement of his mother and teachers, Sreejit Sarkar Sreeyam's school participated in the competition and became the champion of the Mymensingh division. 'If my father could see this success, he would be very happy...' Sreeyam's voice became heavy as she said it.

Another member of the 'Marks Active School Chess Champs' is Aniruddha Gun from Anjuman Adarsh Government High School, the champion school of Mymensingh division.

Under the supervision of Bangladesh Chess Federation and sponsored by Abul Khair Group, the 'Mark's Active School Chess Champs' competition is being held across the country. Three teenagers died on the spot after their motorcycle lost control and fell into a ditch on the side of the road in Betagi, Barguna. The incident took place around 11:30 pm on Thursday in the Khanerhat area of the Mokamia-Betagi road.
