“আইন মেনে সড়কে চলি, নিরাপদে ঘরে ফিরি”এই প্রতিপাদ্যকে সামনে রেখে সারা দেশের মতো নরসিংদীতেও জাতীয় সড়ক দিবস-২০২২ উদযাপন ও আলোচনা সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।

শনিবার (২২ অক্টোবর) নরসিংদী জেলার রায়পুরা উপজেলার মাহমুদাবাদ রাজিউদ্দিন আহমেদ রাজু উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় মাঠে জেলা প্রশাসন ও বিআরটিএ নরসিংদী সার্কেলের আয়োজনে অতিরিক্ত জেলা ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট ও বিআরটিএ নরসিংদীর ড্রাইভিং কম্পিটেন্সি টেস্ট বোর্ডের সভাপতি এ এস এম ইবনুল হাসান এর সভাপতিত্বে আলোচনা সভায় প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন নরসিংদী জেলা প্রশাসক ও বিজ্ঞ জেলা ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট আবু নইম মোহাম্মদ মারুফ খান। প্রধান অতিথি বলেন, দুর্ঘটনা রোধে সবচেয়ে বেশি দায়িত্ব আমাদের নিজেদের। আমরা যদি যার যার অবস্থান থেকে আরোও সচেতন হই তাহলে দুর্ঘটনা কমিয়ে আনা সম্ভব হবে।

আমরা অফিস আদালতে অথবা স্কুল কলেজে যাবার জন্য সময় নিয়ে বের হবো এবং তাড়াহুড়ো করে গাড়ী চালাবনা। দ্রুত পৌছানোর চেয়ে নিরাপদে গন্তব্য পৌছাবো। এসময় আরোও উপস্থিত ছিলেন নিরাপদ সড়ক চাই নরসিংদী জেলা শাখার সভাপতি, সাধারণ সম্পাদকসহ অন্যান্য কর্মকর্তা, শিক্ষক, শিক্ষার্থী এবং ইলেকট্রনিক ও প্রিন্ট মিডিয়ার সাংবাদিকবৃন্দ।

আইন মেনে সড়কে চলি নিরাপদে ঘরে ফিরি এ স্লোগানকে সামনে রেখে বাংলাদেশ সড়ক পরিবহন কতৃপক্ষ (বিআরটিএ) নোয়াখালী সার্কেলের আয়োজনে এক বণ্যাঢ্য শোভাযাএা ২২অক্টোবর সকাল ১০ টায় নোয়াখালী ডিসি কার্যালয়ের সামনে থেকে বের হয়ে শহরের প্রধান সড়ক প্রদক্ষিণ করে ডিসি কার্যালয়ের সামনে এসে শেষ হয়।পরে ডিসি কার্যালয়ের সভা কক্ষে আলোচনা সভার আয়োজন করা হয়।

উক্ত আলোচনা সভায় প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্য রাখেন জেলা প্রশাসক দেওয়ান মাহবুবুর রহমান। বিশেষ অতিথির বক্তব্য রাখেন অতিরিক্ত পুলিশ সুপার মোর্ওাহীন বিল্লাহ। বক্তব্য রাখেন জেলার বিআরটিএ সার্কেল সহকারী পরিচালক ইন্জিনিয়ার উসমান সরওয়ার আলম।

According to the Department of Meteorology, the low pressure in the Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal is staying in the same area in the form of a distinct low pressure. It could further condense into a depression, the agency said.

Also, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to carefully monitor further instructions. Fishing boats and trawlers operating in North Bay of Bengal have been asked to proceed with caution. Also they are told not to wander in the deep sea.

Meanwhile, the 24-hour weather forecast on Friday night (October 21) said that the weather in the whole country may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.

Meteorologist Md. Bazulur Rashid said that the low pressure in the Andaman Sea and the adjacent South East Bay of Bengal is staying in the same area in the form of a distinct low pressure. It may condense further and become a depression.

He further said that the day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. The weather conditions may deteriorate in the coastal areas of Bangladesh in the next two days.

No rainfall was recorded anywhere in the country during the last 24 hours. Yesterday evening the lowest temperature of the country was 17.8 degrees Celsius at Tentulia.

The highest temperature in the country was 35.3 degrees Celsius in Sandwip. Also, the temperature in the capital was 34.4 degrees Celsius.

Tensions are high in the political arena surrounding the divisional mass rallies. After Chittagong and Mymensingh, BNP is going to hold a mass rally in Khulna this Saturday.

The rally will be held at the Sonali Bank premises in the city at 2 pm. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will be the chief guest.

A pre-announced transport strike has begun in Khulna since Friday morning ahead of the rally. However, the party's supporters have ignored the announcement and started gathering at the rally site.

Most of the leaders and activists arrived at the rally site the night before by train and trawler. The leaders and activists present at the rally site slept on plastic bags and mats on the road and sidewalks at the night.

Many people were seen sleeping there in the morning as well. Breakfast was being served by various party leaders.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 43 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs by conducting anti-narcotics operations in different areas of the capital.

A large amount of drugs have been seized from those who have been arrested. 34 cases have been filed against the arrested persons of various police stations of DMP.

This Saturday (October 22) morning, DMP's Midi and Public Relations Department Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Md. Farooq Hossain came to know this information.

He said that as part of the anti-narcotics campaign of DMP, they were arrested in various areas of the capital from 6 am on Friday to 6 am.

631 pieces of Eightaba, 26 grams 30 purita heroin, 2 kg 440 grams 250 purita ganja and 20 bottles of Fensidil were seized from them.

He also said that 34 cases have been registered against the arrested police station under Narcotics Control Act.

ময়মনসিংহ নগরীর গাঙ্গিনারপাড় এলাকায় হকার্স মার্কেটের আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে এসেছে। ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ছয় ইউনিটের চেষ্টায় আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে।

 শনিবার (২২ অক্টোবর) সকাল ৮টা ৫০ মিনিটের দিকে ভয়াবহ অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটে। আগুন নেভাতে কাজ করে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ছয় ইউনিট। তাদের চেষ্টায় সকাল সাড়ে ৯টার দিকে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে। তবে পুরোপুরি আগুন নিভে সকাল ১০টার দিকে।

জানা যায়, সকাল পৌনে ৯টার দিকে অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটে। এতে দুইটি দোকানের সব মালামাল পুড়ে গেছে। এছাড়া আশপাশের বেশ কয়েকটি দোকান ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে।

বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেন কোতোয়ালি মডেল থানার পরিদর্শক (তদন্ত) ফারুক হোসেন।

লক্ষ্মীপুরে যুবদল নেতা শিক্ষানবিশ আইনজীবী দিদারুল আলম হত্যার একযুগ পর মো. হিরন ভূঁইয়া নামে এক আসামিকে গ্রেফতার করেছেন পুলিশ।

গতকাল শুক্রবার (২১ অক্টোবর) রাত ৮টার দিকে সদর উপজেলার উত্তর হামছাদী ইউনিয়নের মির্জাপুর গ্রাম থেকে তাকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়।

লক্ষ্মীপুর সদর মডেল থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মোসলেহ উদ্দিন  বিষয়টি জানিয়েছেন। হিরন একই এলাকার ভূঁইয়া বাড়ির রফিক উল্যা ভূঁইয়ার ছেলে।

মামলা সূত্র জানায়, ২০১২ সালের ৩০ অক্টোবর জেলা বিএনপির সাবেক সভাপতি আবুল খায়ের ভূঁইয়া ও খালেদা জিয়ার সাবেক প্রধান নিরাপত্তা সমন্বয়কারী কর্নেল (অব.) আবদুল মজিদের অনুসারীদের মধ্যে উত্তর হামছাদী ইউনিয়নের কালিবাজার এলাকায় সংঘর্ষের ঘটনা ঘটে।

ওইদিন সংঘর্ষে দিদার নিহত হন। এ ঘটনায় পরদিন দিদারের স্ত্রী রেহানা আক্তার বাদী হয়ে কর্নেল মজিদসহ ২৫ জনের নাম উল্লেখ ও অজ্ঞাত ২৫ জনের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা দায়ের করেন।

আজ শনিবার (২২ অক্টোবর) সকাল ৮টার দিকে লক্ষ্মীপুর জেলা বিএনপির যুগ্ম-আহবায়ক অ্যাডভোকেট হাছিবুর রহমান জানান, দিদার হত্যা মামলাটি বর্তমানে বিচারাধীন রয়েছে।

ওসি মোসলেহ উদ্দিন জানান, গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে হত্যা মামলার আসামি হিরনকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে। তিনি থানা পুলিশ হেফাজতে রয়েছে।
