তজুমদ্দিনে জমি সংক্রন্ত বিরোধের জের ধরে পাল্টাপাল্টি হামলার ঘটনায় ছাত্রলীগের উপর দায় চাপিয়ে কেন্দ্রীয় ছাত্রদলের দেয়া প্রেস রিলিজের প্রতিবাদে উপজেলা ছাত্রলীগের নেতৃবৃন্দ সংবাদ সম্মেলন করেছে। ৯ অক্টোবর (রবিবার) দুপুর ১২টায় উপজেলা ছাত্রলীগের সভাপতি ও সাধারণ সম্পাদক সংগঠনের নেতা কর্মিদের নিয়ে তজুমদ্দিন প্রেসক্লাবে এ সংবাদ সম্মেলনের আয়োজন করে।

লিখিত বক্তব্যে সভাপতি সাইফুদ্দিন সবুজ দাবী করেন, উপজেলার শম্ভুপুর ইউনিয়নের ৯ নং ওয়ার্ডের আলী ফরাজী বাড়ির জৈনিক খোরশেদ কাজীর সাথে তার চাচাতো ভাই আবদুর রবের সাথে একটি সুপারি বাগানের মালীকানা নিয়ে বিরোধ চলছিলো। গত ০৭/১০/২০২২ তারিখ সকাল সাড়ে আটটায় খোরশেদ কাজী গংরা বাগানে সুপারী পাড়তে গেলে এসময় তাদের একই বাড়ির আবদুর রব ও তার স্বজনরা বাধা দেয়। এ ঘটনায় উভয় পক্ষের মধ্যে হামলা-পাল্টা হামলার ঘটনা ঘটে। এতে খোরশেদ কাজীর ছেলে ও ছাত্রদলের কর্মি কাজী হুমায়ুন আহত হয়ে তজুমদ্দিন হাসপাতালে এবং প্রতিপক্ষের আরেক ছাত্রদল কর্মি হোসেন লালমোহন হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসা নেয়। এঘটনায় দু-পক্ষের অন্তত ৮জন আহত হয়ে বিভিন্ন স্থানে চিকিৎসা নেয়। পরে ওই দিনই ছাত্রদলের কর্মি কাজী হুমায়ুনের বড়ভাই দন্ডবিধির (পেনাল কোড-১৮৬০) এর৷ ১৪৩/৪৪৭/৩২৩/৩২৬/৩০৭/৩৭৯/৫০৬ ধারায় তজুমদ্দিন থানায় একটি মামলা দায়ের করেন। মামলা নম্বর প্রতিপক্ষের ছাত্রদল কর্মি হোসেন কে গ্রেপ্তার করে পুলিশ কারাগারে পাঠিয়েছে।

কিন্তু গত ০৭/১০/২০২২ ইং শুক্রবার কেন্দ্রিয় ছাত্রদলের দপ্তর সম্পাদক মোঃ জাহাঙ্গীর আলমের স্বাক্ষরিত “ছাত্রলীগের সন্ত্রাসী হামলার নিন্দা ও প্রতিবাদ” শিরোনামে একটি প্রেস বিজ্ঞপ্তি বিভিন্ন অনলাইন ও ফেসবুকে আপলোড করে। এর প্রেক্ষিতে উপজেলা ছাত্রলীগ প্রতিবাদ ও নিন্দা জানিয়ে সংবাদ সম্মেলন করে।

প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী ও ব্যবসায়ীরা জানান, বেশ কিছুদিন আগে থেকে গাজী মার্কেট সংলগ্ন জায়গায় পুলিশের অবসরপ্রাপ্ত সাব ইন্সপেক্টর সৈয়দ আহম্মদ গং ৯তলা একটি ভবন নির্মান শুরু করেন। নির্মান সামগ্রী এবং গাড়ী পার্কিং করে দীর্ঘদিন থেকে ব্যবসায়ীদের ক্ষতি করে আসলেও সৈয়দ আহম্মদ প্রভাবশালী হওয়ায় কিছুতেই কারো অভিযোগ অনুযোগ কর্ণপাত করছিলেন না। শুক্ররার রাতে নির্মানাধীন ভবনের ময়লা পানি পাইপ দিয়ে গাজী মার্কেটের দিকে দিতে দেখে দারোয়ান হারুন বাধা দিলে তার ওপর হামলা চালান সৈয়দ আহাম্মদ ও তার দুই ছেলে আমির হোসন ও আনোয়ার হোসেন। তাকে বঁাঁচাতে এগিয়ে আসলে মার্কেট ব্যবসায়ী পরিচালনা কমিটির নির্বাচিত সাধারণ সম্পাদক শিপলু ভাট (৩৭), মার্কেট ম্যানেজার বেলায়েত হোসেন(৩০), ও জেনারেটর কর্মচারি রবিন (২৫)কেও পিটিয়ে রক্তাক্ত জখম করা হয়। এ নিয়ে আজ রবিবার (০৯ অক্টোবর) দুপুরে গাজী কমপ্লেক্সের সকল ব্যবসায়ীদের সঙ্গে নিয়ে ঘন্টাব্যাপী মানববন্ধন শেষে অভিযুক্ত সৈয়দ আহাম্মদ ও তার দুই ছেলেকে আইনের আওতায় এনে সুষ্ঠু বিচারের দাবিতে রায়পুর উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা অনজন দাশ ও রায়পুর পৌর মেয়র গিয়াস উদ্দীন রুবেল ভাট বরাবর ব্যবসায়ীদের স্বাক্ষর সম্বলিত স্মারক লিপি প্রদান করেন ব্যবসায়ী পরিচালনা কমিটির সভাপতি মোঃ আরিফ হোসেনসহ অন্যান্য নেতৃবৃন্দ।
