এক ঘণ্টার বেশি সময় নিষ্ক্রিয় থাকার পর সক্রিয় হলো মেটার আওতাধীন বিশ্বের বহুল জনপ্রিয় সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যম ফেসবুক।

বাংলাদেশ সময় মঙ্গলবার রাত সাড়ে ১০টার পর থেকে সচল হতে শুরু করে সামাজিক মাধ্যমটি।

এদিন রাত ৯টার পর থেকে সমস্যার কথা জানাতে থাকেন ব্যবহারকারীরা। তারা জানান, ফেসবুক ও ইনস্টাগ্রামে প্রবেশ করা যাচ্ছে না। এমনকি যারা ফেসবুকে লগ–ইন করা অবস্থায় ছিলেন তারাও স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে লগ–আউট হয়ে যান।

ওয়েবসাইট পর্যবেক্ষক ডাউনডিটেক্টরও ফেসবুক ও ইনস্টাগ্রামে সমস্যা হচ্ছে বলে জানিয়েছে।

ব্রিটিশ সংবাদমাধ্যম ডেইলি মেইল এক প্রতিবেদনে জানিয়েছে, পুরো বিশ্বজুড়ে ফেসবুক ও ইন্সটাগ্রামে সমস্যা দেখা দিয়েছে। বিশ্বের কোথাও কেউ ফেসবুক ও ইন্সটাগ্রামে প্রবেশ করতে পারছে না। এই দুটি মাধ্যমের ওয়েবসাইট এবং অ্যাপস উভয়ই অকার্যকর হয়ে পড়েছে।

ডাউন ডিটেকটরের গ্রাফে দেখা গেছে, রাত ৯টা ২০ মিনিট পর্যন্ত ৩ লাখ ১৫ হাজার ৮১৭ জন ফেসবুক ব্যবহারকারী অভিযোগ করেছেন তারা ফেসবুক ব্যবহারে সমস্যার সম্মুখীন হচ্ছেন। এরপর রাত ৯টা ৩২ পর্যন্ত ৫ লাখ ৪১ হাজার ৫৭৩ জন ব্যবহারকারী তাদের সমস্যার কথা জানিয়েছেন। তারা এও জানতে চাচ্ছেন— কী হয়েছে সামজিক মাধ্যমটির? কেনই বা লগইন করা যাচ্ছে না? কখন ঠিক হবে?

এদিকে হঠাৎ ফেসবুকে ঢুকতে না পেরে অনেকে আতঙ্কিত হয়ে পড়েছেন। তাদের আতঙ্কিত না হতে অনুরোধ করেছেন ডিএমপির সাইবার ক্রাইম ইউনিটের এসপি মো. নাজমুল ইসলাম।

এক ভিডিও বার্তায় তিনি বলেন, ফেসবুকের কার্যক্রম বর্তমানে কিছুটা বিঘ্নিত হচ্ছে। ইতোমধ্যে এ বিষয়টি নিয়ে আমরা বাংলাদেশের কর্তৃপক্ষ এবং সিঙ্গাপুরের ফেসবুক কর্তৃপক্ষের সঙ্গে কথা বলেছি। তারা জানিয়েছে— সমস্যার সমাধানে তারা কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। দ্রুতই সমস্যার সমাধান হয়ে যাবে।

তিনি আরও বলেন, এটা সম্পূর্ণ ফেসবুকের কারিগরি সমস্যা, কেউ আতঙ্কিত হবেন না। এতে ফেসবুক অ্যাকাউন্টধারী বা ফেসবুক অ্যাপের কোনো ত্রুটি নেই। পাসওয়ার্ড বা আর্থিক কোনো বিষয়েও সংশ্লিষ্টতা নেই। আপনার ফেসবুক হ্যাক হয়নি, তাই কেউ আতঙ্কিত হবেন না। শিগগিরই সমস্যার সমাধান হয়ে যাবে।

ডাউনডিটেক্টর ছাড়াও ট্র্যাকিং ওয়েবসাইট, অ্যাপ এবং বিভিন্ন ওয়েবসাইটে ফেসবুক বিভ্রাটের বিষয়টি রিপোর্ট করেছেন ব্যবহারকারীরা। সেই সঙ্গে এ অভিযোগের সংখ্যা আজ রাত ১০টার পর থেকে আকস্মিকভাবে বৃদ্ধি পায়।

ইরানের প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের একটি ওয়ার্কশপে ব্যর্থ ড্রোন হামলার দায়ে ইসরায়েলি গুপ্তচর সংস্থা বা মোসাদের এক সদস্যের মৃত্যুদণ্ড কার্যকর করা হয়েছে। রবিবার (৩ মার্চ) মোসাদের ওই গুপ্তচরের মৃত্যুদণ্ড কার্যকর করে ইরান। ২০২৩ সালের ২৮ জানুয়ারি ইরানের প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয় এক বিবৃতিতে জানায়, প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের ইস্ফাহানস্থ একটি ওয়ার্কশপে কয়েকটি ছোট্ট ড্রোনের সাহায্যে হামলা চালানো হয়।

কিন্তু আকাশ প্রতিরক্ষা ব্যবস্থার সহযোগিতায় ওই হামলা ব্যর্থ করে দেওয়া হয়েছে। একটি ড্রোনে আঘাত হানা হয়েছে এবং অন্য দু’টি ড্রোনকে কৌশলে আটকে দেওয়া সম্ভব হয়েছে। এরপর ওই দু’টি ড্রোনও বিস্ফোরিত হয়েছে।
এ সম্পর্কে ইস্ফাহানের বিচার বিভাগের প্রধান হুজ্জাতুল ইসলাম জাফারি বলেছেন, এই ব্যর্থ হামলার পর মোসাদের ওই গুপ্তচর নিজের পরিচয় গোপন করে ইরান থেকে পালিয়ে যায়। এর ১৩ দিন পর ইরানের বিচার বিভাগের সহযোগিতা ও নিরাপত্তা বাহিনীর প্রচেষ্টায় তাকে একটি প্রতিবেশী দেশ থেকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়। এরপর আদালতের মাধ্যমে বিচার প্রক্রিয়া শেষে গতকাল (৩ মার্চ) মোসাদের ওই সন্ত্রাসীর মৃত্যুদণ্ড কার্যকর করা হয়েছে।

One person died of Nipah virus after consuming raw date palm juice. He died while undergoing treatment at Mohakhali Infectious Disease Hospital in the capital on Sunday. Director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) Professor Tahmina Shirin informed this information. He said that the person is a middle-aged man. Pathological analysis revealed that he had consumed raw date palm juice. Professor Tahmina Shirin also said that this is the first death due to Nipah virus this year. The house of the deceased is in Manikganj.

In a meeting organized by IEDCR last December 10 about the risk of Nipah virus, 339 patients have been identified in Bangladesh since 2001 till that time (last December 10), of which 240 patients have died. The outbreak of this disease is seen in the country from December to May. This virus is usually contracted by drinking the raw juice of dates.
The IEDCR meeting also informed that 14 people were infected with Nipah virus in 2023 (as of December 10) and 10 people died out of them. Mortality rate in patient ratio is 71.42 percent. IEDCR Director Professor Tahmina Shireen made an informative presentation on the spread and risk of Nipah virus in the meeting. In the presentation, the professor said that Nipah virus is a deadly virus. The carrier of this virus is Pteropus (fruit-eating) bats. The disease is transmitted to humans from bats. The infection was first detected in humans in Malaysia in 1998.
Tahmina Shirin said that the first outbreak of Nipah virus was identified in Meherpur district in Bangladesh in 2001. Since then, the outbreak of this disease is observed in Bangladesh almost every year. To stay away from this virus, you should avoid drinking raw date juice

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that domestic oil and gas exploration activities will be further strengthened from all domestic sources. He said that Petrobangla has already started the activities of drilling and re-drilling 46 wells from which 612 million cubic feet of gas will be added to the national grid. Under this program, 112 million cubic feet of gas has already been added to the national grid in 2023 and this activity is ongoing.

He said, the government has a plan to utilize Bhola gas to the maximum. At the same time, gas supply will be ensured in the country's power and industrial sectors where there is a crisis. The State Minister said these things in response to questions from journalists after visiting the Shahbazpur gas field in Borhanuddin, Bhola today, Thursday.
Nasrul Hamid said that Bhola gas will be taken to the mainland within 3 years through a pipeline. Bholadwip is a gas-rich region. Initiatives have been taken to dig 9 more exploration wells here. A two-dimensional seismic survey will be conducted in the Bhola river area. He said that employment opportunities will be created in Bhola by connecting gas to the industrial sector on a priority basis. Currently, 5 million cubic feet of gas is being taken from Bhola daily in the form of CNG for industrial establishments in the mainland of the country. It will be increased to 25 million cubic feet in phases.
The State Minister said that work is underway to provide metered connections for residential and household uses in Bhola municipal area. At that time, Bhola-2 constituency MP Ali Azam Mukul, Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Department Md. Nurul Alam and officials of the concerned ministry were present.

মাঘের শুরুতে এসে অবশেষে শীত জেঁকে বসেছে মৌলভীবাজারে। মঙ্গলবার শ্রীমঙ্গলে দেশের সর্বনিম্ন তাপমাত্রা রেকর্ড করা হয়েছে ৯ দশমিক ৭ ডিগ্রি সেলসিয়াস। চলতি শীত মৌসুমে এ জেলায় এটাই সর্বনিম্ন তাপমাত্রা বলে জানিয়েছে স্থানীয় আবহাওয়া অফিস।

এর আগে সোমবার জেলার সর্বনিম্ন তাপমাত্রা রেকর্ড করা হয়েছিলো ১৩ ডিগ্রি সেলসিয়াস। শ্রীমঙ্গল আবহাওয়া দপ্তরের ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা মো. আনিসুর রহমান এসব তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছেন।

আবহাওয়ার এমন পরিস্থিতি আরও কয়েকদিন বিরাজ করতে পারে বলে জানিয়েছে স্থানীয় আবহাওয়া অফিস।

What is ankylosing spondylitis?

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a type of chronic inflammatory arthritis that primarily affects the spine and sacroiliac (SI) joints. It is the spinal fusion process that results in spinal stiffness and immobility. It curves the spine. If the ribs are affected, breathing may also become difficult.
Who can get ankylosing spondylitis?
Anyone can get ankylosing spondylitis, although it is more common in men than women. Symptoms of this disease usually appear between the ages of 17 and 45 years. Ankylosing spondylitis is a genetic disease that can run in families.
Symptoms:
1. Pain and stiffness in the back, which is worse in the morning after waking up and on walking
decreases.
2. Progressive loss of spinal mobility, resulting in spinal stiffness.
3. Sacroiliac joint pain, lower back and hip pain and stiffness.
5. Enthesitis, which is inflammation where a tendon or ligament attaches to a bone.

Reason:
Ankylosing spondylitis has no specific cause, although genetic factors appear to be involved. In particular, people with the HLA-B27 gene have a higher risk of developing ankylosing spondylitis. However, only some people with the gene develop the disease.
Diagnosis:

7. Inflammation of the jaw.

কিশোরগঞ্জ-২ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য সাবেক আইজিপি নূর মোহাম্মদকে হুঁশিয়ারি দিলেন এই আসনে আওয়ামী লীগের (নৌকা) প্রার্থী সাবেক অতিরিক্ত ডিআইজি আবদুল কাহার আকন্দ। তিনি নূর মোহাম্মদের উদ্দেশে বলেন, ‘আর এক পা আগাবেন না। হয় নৌকার সঙ্গে থাকুন, না হয় কটিয়াদী ছেড়ে ঢাকা চলে যান। আর যদি আপনি একটি কথা নৌকার বিরুদ্ধে বলবেন, তাহলে আপনার বাড়ি ঘেরাও করা হবে। গতকাল মঙ্গলবার সন্ধ্যায় কিশোরগঞ্জের পাকুন্দিয়া পৌর সদর ঈদগাহ মাঠে নির্বাচনী জনসভায় তিনি এসব কথা বলেন।

জনসভায় পাকুন্দিয়া উপজেলা পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান রফিকুল ইসলামের সভাপতিত্বে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য দেন কিশোরগঞ্জ জেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক আইনজীবী এম এ আফজল। এ সময় আওয়ামী লীগ, অঙ্গ ও সহযোগী সংগঠনের নেতা-কর্মীরা বক্তব্য দেন।
কটিয়াদী-পাকুন্দিয়া উপজেলা নিয়ে গঠিত কিশোরগঞ্জ-২ আসন। এখান থেকে বর্তমান সংসদ সদস্য নূর মোহাম্মদ, আবদুল কাহার আকন্দ ও সাবেক সংসদ সদস্য মো. সোহরাব উদ্দিন আওয়ামী লীগের মনোনয়ন চেয়েছিলেন। এর মধ্যে আবদুল কাহার আকন্দকে মনোনয়ন দেওয়া হয়। মো. সোহরাব উদ্দিন ঈগল প্রতীক নিয়ে স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থী হিসেবে নির্বাচন করছেন। নূর মোহাম্মদ মনোনয়নবঞ্চিত হয়ে এই আসনের আরেক স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থী বিএনপির বহিষ্কৃত নেতা সাবেক সংসদ সদস্য মেজর (অব) আখতারুজ্জামানের ট্রাক প্রতীককে সমর্থন জানান। এ নিয়ে এই আসনের নির্বাচনের মাঠ গরম আছে।
সার্বিক বিষয় নিয়ে কথা বলতে আজ বুধবার সকালে নূর মোহাম্মদকে মুঠোফোনে কল করে পাওয়া যায়নি। তবে গত সপ্তাহে  বলেছিলেন, অন্য প্রার্থীদের চেয়ে আখতারুজ্জামানকে তাঁর কাছে সাহসী ও যোগ্য মনে হয়েছে, তাই তাঁকে সমর্থন দিয়েছেন। নিজের অনুগত আওয়ামী লীগের নেতা-কর্মী ও সমর্থকদের আখতারুজ্জামানের পক্ষে নির্বাচন করার নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন তিনি।
বিএনপির বহিষ্কৃত নেতা আখতারুজ্জামান এক দিকে দলের বিরোধিতা করে নির্বাচনে অংশ নিয়েছেন, অপর দিকে বক্তৃতায় একই সঙ্গে খালেদা জিয়ার মুক্তি ও শেখ হাসিনার নেতৃত্বে স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ গড়ার কথা বলে সমালোচনার মুখে পড়েছেন।

বাংলাদেশ পল্লী বিদ্যুতায়ন বোর্ডের রাজস্ব খাতভুক্ত তত্ত্বাবধায়ক (সম্পত্তি) পদে আবেদনকারী প্রার্থীদের এমসিকিউ, লিখিত ও মৌখিক পরীক্ষার সময়সূচি প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে। প্রতিষ্ঠানটির ওয়েবসাইটে এক বিজ্ঞপ্তির মাধ্যমে এসব তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে।

স্নাতকোত্তরে বৃত্তি নিয়ে বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পড়ার সুযোগ দিচ্ছে জাপান ও বিশ্বব্যাংক। ‘জয়েন্ট জাপান ওয়ার্ল্ড ব্যাংক গ্র্যাজুয়েট স্কলারশিপ’ এর আওতায় শিক্ষার্থীরা এ বৃত্তি পাবেন। বিশ্বব্যাংকের তালিকাভুক্ত উন্নয়নশীল দেশগুলোর শিক্ষার্থীরা এ বৃত্তির জন্য আবেদন করার সুযোগ পাবেন। আগ্রহীরা এ মাসের ২৬ তারিখ পর্যন্ত আবেদন করতে পারবেন।

BRTC written exam results released, 215 passed

The results of the written examination for the posts of Assistant Administrative Officer, POL Attendant and Cleaner of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) have been published.

A notification on the BRTC website said that 11 people have passed the exam for the post of Assistant Administrative Officer, 153 people have passed the exam for the post of POL Attendant and 51 people have passed the exam for the post of Cleaner.

The date of the oral examination for candidates who pass the written examination will be published on the website at a later date.

Written examinations for the posts of Assistant Administrative Officer, POL Attendant and Cleaner were held yesterday, Saturday.
