There is no alternative to a one-round movement to topple the government: 12-party alliance

A 12-party alliance has formed a human chain in Dhaka in a series of simultaneous movements to achieve 10-point demands, including the resignation of the illegal government, the release of all political prisoners including Begum Khaleda Zia, and a reduction in the prices of daily necessities. This Saturday morning, the top leaders of the alliance, while forming a human chain on the road adjacent to the Bijoynagar water tank in the capital, said that there is no alternative to the movement to overthrow the government in one go. By overthrowing this illegal government through a mass movement, electoral democracy will be restored in the country under a non-partisan and impartial government and the right of the people to vote will be re-established.

The human chain was chaired by Jatiya Party Chairman Mustafa Jamal Haider and moderated by Bangladesh Kalyan Party Joint Secretary General Abdullah Al Hasan Shakib. Bangladesh Kalyan Party Chairman Major General (retd) Syed Muhammad Ibrahim, Bir Pratik, Bangladesh Labor Party Chairman Mostafizur Rahman Iran, Bangladesh National Party Chairman Advocate Syed Ehsanul Huda, Bangladesh LDP Secretary General Shahadat Hossain Selim, National Democratic Party (NDP) Chairman Qari Muhammad Abu Taher, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh Secretary General Mufti Golam Mohiuddin Ikram, Bangladesh Muslim League (BML) Chairman Advocate Sheikh Zulfikar Bulbul Chowdhury, Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) General Secretary Iqbal Hossain, NAP-Bhasani Chairman Advocate Azharul Islam, Bangladesh Islamic Party Secretary General Abul Kashem, Top leaders of the 12-party alliance, including Maulana Abdul Karim, Secretary General of the Islamic Unity Alliance.
The top leaders of the 12-party alliance said in the human chain that the peaceful movement of the opposition parties across the country is being obstructed and harassed in various ways. At the same time, a mass arrest campaign has begun. Political leaders and activists of the opposition parties are being arrested indiscriminately.
They said that the democracy of the Awami League government, the soul agent of the spirit of the Liberation War, has today turned into a war system. Having failed to confront the opponent democratically, they are expressing their helplessness due to lack of public support by resorting to assault cases, arrests and various other tactics.
The speakers said, "If you have made so much progress, why are you afraid of not getting the people's votes? Why are you afraid of elections under an impartial government? Why are you trying to do a hat trick of winning without votes by losing trust in the people and using administration and muscle power?"

They also said that the situation in the country is very bad. A group of godfather bandits have looted the country and made a fortune and smuggled money abroad. The businessmen of the government party have created an artificial crisis by forming a syndicate and raising the prices of rice, pulses, flour, oil, salt, fish, meat, eggs and even the protein farm chicken of the poor from 130/140 to 250 taka. A silent famine has begun in the country. In this situation, the anti-people illegal government is increasing the prices of fuel, gas and electricity in stages!!

They said, the illegal unelected Sheba Das government has taken the country to bankruptcy through its secret power deal with Assam. The power import agreement with the Adani Group must be canceled immediately. The public outcry in favor of the 10-point demands, including the release of all political prisoners including Begum Khaleda Zia, will sweep away the illegal government. The resignation of the government by dissolving the parliament has become the only demand of the country and the people.

TikTok is now under threat of being banned across the United States

The popular content sharing app TikTok is now under threat of being banned across the United States. The lower house of the country's parliament, the House of Representatives, has already begun preparing a bill to this effect, the app's authorities said in a message.

In a message sent to all TikTok users in the United States on Thursday, the app's authorities said, "A bill to ban TikTok in the United States is being prepared in the House of Representatives. Request to US TikTok users, contact your local representatives. Tell them that TikTok is your property and (if the bill is introduced in Parliament) they should vote 'no'."‘

In a report on Friday, the US daily The Washington Post said that since TikTok posted this message, public representatives' phones have been receiving a "flood" of calls.

However, the Washington Post has confirmed that the message TikTok sent is accurate. A bill is indeed being prepared in the House of Representatives.

In 2016, Chinese company ByteDance first launched the content sharing app TikTok. The app quickly became popular among internet users. In a statement in 2022, ByteDance said that the number of TikTok users worldwide had exceeded 750 million.

TikTok is also very popular among the general public in the United States. Various surveys have shown that two-thirds of the country's younger generation regularly use TikTok.

However, in 2021, TikTok was accused of stealing sensitive personal information of US citizens. That same year, Washington banned US military officers and employees from using the app. The following year, in 2022, the same order was issued to the country's government officials and employees.
