Everything is empty when the elevator door opens

Abdullah Sagar (55), an official of Dhaka University, died after falling from the seventh floor while taking an elevator. He was working as the senior assistant accounts director at the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Fine Arts. The incident took place at the university's Mukaram Bhaban around 10:15 am on Friday. He was rescued and admitted to Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital, where he died in the afternoon.

Abdullah's home is in Kalemeshwar village under Gacha police station in Gazipur. He lived in Gazipur with his wife and three children. He used to commute to and from work regularly.

Alam Faruk, assistant registrar of the Fine Arts Department, said that the admission test for the Agricultural University was held on Friday. The students were seated in the Mukaram Bhaban. Abdullah went there to work. The elevator in that building is very old, which has to be opened by hand. He opened the elevator door on the seventh floor by hand and entered, but at that time the elevator did not reach the floor and fell down and was seriously injured.

University proctor Saifuddin Ahmed said Abdullah was on the seventh floor. He fell down as the door opened before the elevator arrived. Dhaka's Shahbagh Police Station OC Mohammad Khalid Munsur said the body was handed over without an autopsy as the family had no complaints.

জামিলের বাবা ইকবাল জানান, সাততলা ভবনের উপরের তলায় তারা তিনজন একটি রুমে কথা বলছিল। জামাল সিগারেট ধরানোর জন্য লাইটার জ্বালালে হঠাৎ রুমে বিস্ফোরণ হয়ে আগুন ধরে যায়। পরে তাদের উদ্ধার করে শেখ হাসিনা বার্নে নিয়ে আসা হয়।

তিনজনের অবস্থাই আশঙ্কাজনক জানিয়ে বার্ন ইনস্টিটিউটের আবাসিক চিকিৎসক ডা. তরিকুল ইসলাম জানান, জামালের শরীরে ৭৫ শতাংশ, জামিলের ৫৫ শতাংশ ও তুষারের ১০০ শতাংশ দগ্ধ হয়েছে।




Former minister Sadhan Chandra arrested

Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) has arrested former Food Minister and former member of parliament from Naogaon-1 constituency Sadhan Chandra Majumder.

He was arrested in a raid in the capital's Bashundhara residential area on Thursday night. He was later taken to the DB office on Minto Road in the capital.

Deputy Commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, confirmed this information. He said that there are several cases against Sadhan Chandra Majumder. He will be shown arrested in those cases.




Ratan Tata says 'great' after flying F-16 at 69

Private car in Pirojpur canal, 8 people of two families killed

A total of eight members of two families were killed when a private car fell into a canal in Pirojpur Sadar Upazila. The accident took place in the Noorani Gate area of Pirojpur-Nazirpur road at around 2:30 am on Wednesday. The dead include two men, two women and four children.

The persons killed in this incident are Motaleb (45) of Kholachar neighborhood of Sherpur, his wife Sabina Akhter (30), daughter Mukta (12) and son Swaib (2) and Shaon Mridha (32) of Hoglabunia village of Nazirpur upazila of Pirojpur, his wife Amena Begum (29). ), sons Shahadat (10) and Abdullah (3).

After receiving the information about the accident, the fire service personnel went to the spot and recovered the bodies of eight people from inside the car at around three o'clock yesterday night. Later their bodies were taken to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital Mortuary.

Shaon Mridha's relative Murad said, the private car was supposed to go to Dhaka from Kuakata beach in Patuakhali via Nazirpur in Pirojpur.

In this regard, Pirojpur Additional Superintendent of Police Mukit Hasan Khan said that his identity was initially known from the identity card found with one of the dead named Motaleb. He was serving in the army.
