The ruling Awami League has outlined 21 promises in its election manifesto for the upcoming 11th parliamentary elections.

Party President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina began reading the manifesto at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital at 10:25 am today (Tuesday, December 18).
The goals and commitments outlined by the Awami League in its manifesto titled 'Bangladesh on the Path to Prosperity' are:

Lakshmipur: The renovation work on the Torabganj-Matirhat road in Kamalnagar upazila of Lakshmipur was going on amidst widespread irregularities. The locals obstructed the work as the work was being done outside the schedule and in violation of the tender conditions by using low-quality construction materials. The locals complained to the authorities in this regard. On Thursday, December 6, the Upazila Engineer went to the spot and found the truth of the complaint and stopped the work. After stopping the work for 10 days, the contractor started the work on Saturday (December 15) night without the permission of the authorities. There was anger and dissatisfaction among the locals as the low-quality work was done again in the dead of night.
According to the sources of the Local Government Engineering Department (AGED) Kamalnagar office, a tender was issued for the renovation of 2,050 meters of the road. The estimated cost of which is about 40 lakh taka. A contracting company named Rev RC Limited got the job. However, the work was done by contractor Mohammad Sabuj, a resident of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila. Since he was influential, he was working irresponsibly and irresponsibly without following any schedule. The locals blocked the road renovation work and complained about it because the road was being renovated with low-quality construction materials.
Local residents and CNG-powered autorickshaw drivers on the road said that low-quality bricks are being used for the renovation. They are only using bitumen; that too is of low quality. The road is being carpeted with thin layers. Due to the low-quality work done with widespread irregularities, the road will become unusable in a few days. There will be no end to the suffering.
Kamalnagar Upazila Engineer Sohel Anwar said, after receiving complaints from locals, after going to the spot and finding out the truth about the irregularities, the work was stopped and the higher authorities were informed. The work is currently supposed to be stopped. He does not know anything about the resumption of work. The road work will be properly understood as per the terms of the tender agreement.
Contractor Sabuj said that work was stopped for some time due to his illness. Work has resumed after he recovered. He said that he had not received any letter regarding the suspension of work.

In the upcoming 11th National Assembly elections, four leaders have been expelled from the district Awami League on Saturday and Friday for allegedly campaigning for an independent candidate without part of the election campaign for the candidate of the grand alliance plow marker in Lakshmipur-2 (Raintpur) constituency.
