Internal demand has been met in the fisheries sector, now exports have to be sold: State Minister

Minister of State for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku said that the country's fisheries sector is currently in domestic demand Ability to meet and now focus on exporting fish and fish products.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the National Fisheries Party 2026 at the conference room of the Department of Fisheries on Tuesday.
The state minister said in relation to the national fishing party centered in Kishoreganj outside Dhaka, the state minister said that a large part of the country's freshwater fish comes from Haor area. Therefore, this is done outside Dhaka to convey the message of the program to the people associated with the fisheries, fishermen and fisheries sector.
The state minister said that the martyred President Gitaur Rahman took various programs including river dredging, canal renovation in the development of agriculture and fisheries sector. In the next period, former Prime Minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Jio has taken various initiatives to develop the fisheries sector, and the current Prime Minister Tariq Rahman is working in the agriculture and fisheries sector.
"This time we have done this in a very short time, it has been possible to organize this program outside Dhaka. The entire population has become lively and exceptional due to the presence of the Prime Minister.
Praising the sincere efforts of the fisheries department to make the fishing party successful, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku said, "We all have the strength of the five fingers to have a different power, but if everyone works together, we will create a handful of hand-to-hand strength." This year's team has also been successful.
Addressing the government officials and employees, he said, "The devoidity of the state should be properly observed. No negligence or evasion of work can be done. Every officer-employee should fulfill his merit and talent to the state."
