লক্ষ্মীপুর ছোট ভাইয়ের দায়ের কোপে বড় ভাই তোফায়েল আহমেদ ৫২) নিহত হয়েছেন। এ ঘটনায় ছোট ভাই হোসেন আহমেদকে আটক করেছে পুলিশ।

বুধবার (৩০ নভেম্বর) রাত ৯টার দিকে লক্ষ্মীপুর পৌরসভার ১২ নম্বর ওয়ার্ডের লাহারকান্দি এলাকার দমদমা পুকুরপাড় এলাকায় এ ঘটনা ঘটে।

খবর পেয়ে লক্ষ্মীপুর জেলা পুলিশ সুপার (এসপি) মাহফুজ্জামান আশরাফ, সদর মডেল থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মোসলেহ উদ্দিন ও শহর পুলিশ ফাঁড়ির পরিদর্শক (ইনচার্জ) জহিরুল আলম ঘটনাস্থল পরিদর্শন করেছেন।

নিহত তোফায়েল একই এলাকার আজিজ উল্যা দফাদার বাড়ির মমতাজুর রহমানের ছেলে। তার স্ত্রী, দুই মেয়ে ও এক ছেলে থাকলেও তারা ঢাকায় থাকেন। তিনি একাই বাড়িতে থাকেন।

অন্যদিকে, অভিযুক্ত হোসেন তার আপন ছোট ভাই। তিনি ওয়ার্ড স্বেচ্ছাসেবক লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক।

স্থানীয়দের সঙ্গে কথা বলে জানা যায়, বুধবার এশার নামাজ পড়ে তোফায়েল স্থানীয় একটি দোকানে চা খেতে যান। সেখান থেকে তিনি বাড়ি ফিরছিলেন। এসময় দমদমা দিঘিরপাড়ে হোসেন তার ওপর হামলা করেন। একপর্যায়ে তার দুই পায়ে এলোপাতাড়ি কুপিয়ে জখম করেন। চিৎকার শুনে আশপাশের লোকজন এসে তাদের সরিয়ে দেন৷ পরে হোসেন ঘরে চলে যায়। একপর্যায়ে চিৎকার দিতে দিতে বাড়ি যাওয়ার পথে রাস্তায় পড়ে তোফায়েল মারা যান।

তোফায়েলের বোন হোসনেয়ারা বেগম জানান, তোফায়েল মানসিকভাবে অসুস্থ। তারপরও তাকে কুপিয়ে হত্যা করা হয়েছে। হোসেন তার স্ত্রীর কথায় প্ররোচিত হয়ে এ ঘটনা ঘটিয়েছেন। তিনি দুইজনেরই বিচার চেয়েছেন।

এদিকে, হোসেনের স্ত্রী জেসমিন বেগম বলেন, তোফায়েল আমাকে লাঠি দিয়ে মেরেছে। গলা টিপেও ধরেছে। হোসেন বাড়িতে এলে আমি তাকে বলেছি। এতে ক্ষিপ্ত হয়ে দায়ের গোড়ালি দিয়ে তোফায়েলের পায়ে আঘাত করে। হোসেন ঘরে আসার কিছুক্ষণ পর শুনি তোফায়েল মারা গেছে।

বুধবার রাতে লক্ষ্মীপুর জেলা পুলিশ সুপার মাহফুজ্জামান আশরাফ বলেন, খবর পেয়ে ঘটনাস্থল এসেছি। স্থানীয় ও স্বজনদের সঙ্গে কথা বলছি। অভিযুক্ত হোসেনকে আটক করা হয়েছে। তাকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করা হবে।

মঙ্গলবার (২৯ নভেম্বর) বিকালে চর রমিজ ইউনিয়নের চর আফজল এলাকার শাহ পরান ব্রিকফিল্ডের মালিক রিয়াজ ডুবাই তার নিজ বাড়ীতে হৃদরোগে আক্রান্ত হলে হাসপাতালে নেয়ার পর চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় মৃত্যুবরণ করেন।
স্বজনরা জানায়, তিনি হৃদরোগে আক্রান্ত হয়ে অজ্ঞান হয়ে পড়ে গেলে পরিবারের লোকজন তাকে দ্রুত হাসপাতালে নিয়ে আসেন। রাত ৮টার দিকে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় তিনি মৃত্যুর কোলে ঢলে পড়েন।

পরদিন সকালে পারিবারিক কবরস্থানে জানাযা শেষে তাকে দাফন করা হয়। তার মৃত্যুতে উপজেলার ব্যবসায়ী, সচেতন সমাজ সহ সর্বস্তরে গভীর শোকের ছায়া নেমে আসে।

উপজেলা নির্বাহী নির্বাহী অফিসার এস এম শান্তুনু চৌধুরী জানান, রিয়াজ ডুবাইর মৃত্যুতে গভীর ভাবে শোকাহত। আমি তার রূহের মাগফিরাত কামনা করি। আল্লাহ তাকে বেহেস্ত নসিব করুক।

সকালে এ অবৈধ তিন বিকফিল্ডে এক্সেভেটর মেশিন নিয়ে পরিচালিত অভিযান কালে আলা উদ্দিন মালের আল্লাহর দান, সানাউল্যাহ সানুর তিশা ও আমির হোসেন আমুর আমরী ব্রিকফিল্ডে আসেন উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার। তারা ইট পোড়ানোর জন্য ব্রিকফিল্ড স্থাপনের কোন বৈধ কাগজ না থাকায় এক্সেভেটর মেশিন দিয়ে গুড়িয়ে দেয়া হয় কাঁচা ইট, ইটের খামাল, চুঙ্গা সহ ইট পোড়ানোর উপকরণ। এ সময় ফায়ার সার্ভিসের গাড়ি থেকে পানি ছিটিয়ে ফিল্ডের আগুন নিভিয়ে দেয়।

স্থানীয়রা জানান, উপজেলার শুধুমাত্র চর রমিজ ইউনিয়নে অবৈধ ভাবে গজিয়ে উঠেছে প্রায় ২০টির বেশী বেআইনী ব্রিকফিল্ড। উপজেলায় মোট ৩৫টির অধিক অবৈধ ব্রিকফিল্ড রয়েছে। তাদের চিমনির ধোয়ার আচ্ছন্ন হয়ে পড়েছে গ্রামের গ্রাম। গ্রামের কারো বাড়ীতে কোন গাছে এখন আর সবুজ পাতা দেখা যায় না। সমস্ত গাছের ফুল, মুকুল, কচি পাতা মরে গেছে। বিপর্যস্ত হয়ে পড়েছে পুরো এলাকা। এক সময়ের বিস্তির্ণ ফসলের মাঠে সবুজের সমারোহের শস্যভান্ডার এখন পোড়া ইটের লাল বালু আর ধোঁয়ায় ঢাকা পড়ে গেছে।

Convicted Kamrul Hasan is the son of Marfat Ulya of Rajibpur area of Lakshmipur township and Main Uddin is the son of Muktar Hossain of Ramchandrapur village of Shashidal union of Brahmanpara upazila of Comilla.

According to the complaint source, on the night of October 9, 2021, Kamrul and Main were staying on Kalibazar Road in Matlabpur village of Parbatinagar union of Sadar upazila with drugs. Based on a secret tip-off, a team of district detective police arrested them from the spot. During this, 8 kg of ganja was recovered from them.

Later, police recovered another 8 kg of marijuana from the rented house of the detainee in the South Majupur area of Laxmipur municipality town of Main. Detective Police SI Jahangir Alam filed a case with Sadar Model Police Station as the plaintiff in this incident.

On November 15 of the same year, the investigating officer of the case and Sub-Inspector (SI) of the District Detective Police, Maqbul Hossain, filed a chargesheet against Kamrul and Main in the court. After a long hearing and taking the testimony of witnesses, the court sentenced them to imprisonment.

ইসলামী ব্যাংক বাংলাদেশ লিমিটেডের অস্বাভাবিক ঋণ প্রদানসহ নানা অনিয়মের বিষয়টি তদন্ত চেয়ে রিটের পরামর্শ দিয়েছেন হাইকোর্ট।

বুধবার (৩০ নভেম্বর) এ বিষয়ে এক আইনজীবীর মৌখিক আবেদনের পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে বিচারপতি নজরুল ইসলাম তালুকদার ও বিচারপতি খিজির হায়াতের সমন্বয়ে গঠিত হাইকোর্ট বেঞ্চ এই পরামর্শ দেন।

এদিন সকালে সুপ্রিম কোর্টের আইনজীবী মোহাম্মদ শিশির মনির আদালতে ‘ইসলামী ব্যাংকের ভয়ংকর নভেম্বর’, এস আলম গ্রুপের ৩০ হাজার কোটি টাকা ঋণ নেওয়ার ঘটনায় প্রকাশিত প্রতিবেদন আদালতে উপস্থাপন করেন।

সকাল ১০টা ৫৪ মিনিটে ডায়াসে আসেন শিশির মনির। তিনি বলেন, আমরা ঘটনা ঘটার পর সেটি নিয়ে সমাধানের চেষ্টা করি।

আগে থেকেই যদি এসব সমস্যার সমাধান খোঁজার চেষ্টা করি তাহলে হয়তো কিছুটা সমাধান করা সম্ভব। এরপর তিনি তার চিঠি ও ইসলামী ব্যাংকের বিষয়ে প্রতিবেদন আদালতে দাখিল করেন। আদালত সেটি দেখে রিট করার পরামর্শ দেন।

এর আগে গত রোববার (২৭ নভেম্বর) সুপ্রিম কোর্টের আইনজীবী মোহাম্মদ শিশির মনির ইসলামী ব্যাংক কর্তৃপক্ষ বরাবর একটি চিঠি দেন। তার সঙ্গে আরও ছিলেন ইসলামী ব্যাংকের পাঁচজন আইনজীবী গ্রাহক। অন্যরা হলেন, অ্যাডভোকেট মোহাম্মদ আব্দুল ওয়াদুদ, অ্যাডভোকেট আবদুল্লাহ সাদিক, শাইখুল ইসলাম ইমরান ও যায়েদ বিন আমজাদ।

ডাকযোগে পাঠানো চিঠিতে বলা হয়, ‘আমরা সবাই ইসলামী ব্যাংক, বাংলাদেশ লিমিটেডের নিয়মিত গ্রাহক। ইসলামী ব্যাংকের বিভিন্ন শাখায় আমাদের ব্যাংক অ্যাকাউন্ট রয়েছে। আমরা সাধ্যমতো ইসলামী ব্যাংকের সাথে লেনদেন করে থাকি।

গত ২৪ নভেম্বর ‘প্রথম আলো’ পত্রিকার অনুসন্ধানী রিপোর্টে উঠে এসেছে, ইসলামী ব্যাংক থেকে নভেম্বর মাসের ১ থেকে ১৭ তারিখ পর্যন্ত দুই হাজার ৪৬০ কোটি টাকা তুলে নিয়েছে একটি ‘অসাধু চক্র’। এই রিপোর্টে সংশ্লিষ্ট প্রতিষ্ঠান-সংক্রান্ত বিস্তারিত বর্ণনা দেওয়া হয়েছে। ব্যাংকের আমানতকারী হিসেবে আমরা উদ্বিগ্ন। স্বীকৃতমতে, বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশ অর্থনৈতিক সংকট মোকাবিলা করছে।’
