Two drug dealers in Lakshmipur sentenced to 14 years in prison

A court has sentenced two drug traffickers arrested with 16 grams of marijuana in Lakshmipur to seven years in prison each.

At the same time, they have been ordered to pay a fine of 10,000 taka and, in default, to serve another year in prison.

Lakshmipur District and Sessions Judge Md. Rahibul Islam gave the verdict on Wednesday afternoon. Public Prosecutor (PP) of Lakshmipur Judge Court Jasim Uddin confirmed the matter.

Jasim Uddin said, "The charges against the accused have been proven in court. The court has sentenced them to seven years in prison. The accused were not present in court during the verdict. They are absconding after going out on bail."

Convicted Kamrul Hasan is the son of Marfat Ulya of Rajibpur area of Lakshmipur township and Main Uddin is the son of Muktar Hossain of Ramchandrapur village of Shashidal union of Brahmanpara upazila of Comilla.

According to the complaint source, on the night of October 9, 2021, Kamrul and Main were staying on Kalibazar Road in Matlabpur village of Parbatinagar union of Sadar upazila with drugs. Based on a secret tip-off, a team of district detective police arrested them from the spot. During this, 8 kg of ganja was recovered from them.

Later, police recovered another 8 kg of marijuana from the rented house of the detainee in the South Majupur area of Laxmipur municipality town of Main. Detective Police SI Jahangir Alam filed a case with Sadar Model Police Station as the plaintiff in this incident.

On November 15 of the same year, the investigating officer of the case and Sub-Inspector (SI) of the District Detective Police, Maqbul Hossain, filed a chargesheet against Kamrul and Main in the court. After a long hearing and taking the testimony of witnesses, the court sentenced them to imprisonment.

Bangladesh Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed has called for being always ready to face the challenges of the 21st century through modern and up-to-date training.

Writ petition suggested to investigate irregularities at Islami Bank

45th BCS notification today, 2300 posts

The wait for BCS candidates is coming to an end. The notification for the 45th BCS will be published today. This time, the Public Service Commission (PSC) will recruit 2300 posts. This is the largest number of cadres to be recruited in the last five years.

দীনের ওপর অটল ও অবিচল থাকতে হবে। আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টির এটিই একমাত্র পথ। বস্তুত দীনের ওপর অটল থাকা ছাড়া কল্যাণকর কোনো কিছুই অর্জিত হয় না। মহান আল্লাহ তাঁর পথকে ‘মুস্তাকিম’ বলেছেন। যার অর্থ সরল সুদৃঢ় ও অটল। আল্লাহর দীনের ওপর অটল থাকার অর্থ সব কাজে নিরবচ্ছিন্নভাবে আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রসুলের আনুগত্য করা। চরম শিথিল ও বাড়াবাড়ির মাঝামাঝি পন্থায় নিয়ামতপ্রাপ্ত ব্যক্তিদের (নবী, সিদ্দিক, শহীদ ও সালেহিন) পথ সিরাতে মুস্তাকিমের অনুসরণ। কোরআনে ইরশাদ হয়েছে, ‘আর এটিই আমার সরল পথ। অতএব তোমরা এ পথেরই অনুসরণ কর। অন্যান্য পথের অনুসরণ কোরো না। তাহলে তা তোমাদের তার পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত করে দেবে। এসব বিষয় তিনি তোমাদের নির্দেশ দিচ্ছেন যাতে তোমরা (ভ্রান্তপথ থেকে) বেঁচে থাকতে পারো।’ (সুরা আনআম, আয়াত ১৫৩) দীনের দাওয়াত ও সমাজ সংস্কারও একটি গুরুদায়িত্ব। এজন্য প্রয়োজন অসীম ধৈর্য।

প্রচলিত ধারণা উচ্ছেদ করে নতুন কোনো ধারণা প্রতিষ্ঠা করা নিঃসন্দেহে কঠিন কাজ। এ কঠিন কাজ সম্পাদনে মানুষের মনে ঠাঁই পেতে হবে। এ ক্ষেত্রে বাড়াবাড়ির কোনো অবকাশ নেই। ইসলাম প্রচারেও রসুলুল্লাহ (সা.) অসীম ধৈর্যের পরিচয় দিয়েছেন। সহজ ভাষায় তা প্রচার করেছেন। আজকের যুগে দীনের প্রচার এবং সমাজ সংস্কারেও আমাদের একই পথ বেছে নিতে হবে। দীনকে যাতে মানুষ বোঝা হিসেবে না ভাবে সেভাবেই এগোতে হবে।

আল্লাহর পথ সুদৃঢ়; যা ভঙ্গুর নয়, পরিবর্তনশীল নয়, বরং সদা মজবুত ও অপরিবর্তনীয়; যা কারও অনুগামী হবে না, বরং সবাই তার অনুসারী হবে। যা যুগের হাওয়ায় পরিবর্তন হয় না। বরং যুগকে সে পরিবর্তন করে। সিরাতে মুস্তাকিমের অনুসারীদের জন্য দীনের ওপর অটল থাকা অপরিহার্য। নইলে তার ওই দাবি মিথ্যা প্রতিপন্ন হবে। এজন্য আল্লাহ তাঁর নবীকে নির্দেশ দেন, ‘আর তুমি যেভাবে আদিষ্ট হয়েছো সেভাবে অটল থাকো এবং যারা তোমার সঙ্গে (শিরক ও কুফরি থেকে) তওবা করেছে তারাও। আর তোমরা সীমালঙ্ঘন কোরো না। নিশ্চয়ই তিনি তোমাদের সব কার্যকলাপ প্রত্যক্ষ করেন।’ (সুরা হুদ, আয়াত ১১২) আবুবকর (রা.) একবার রসুল (সা.)-কে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, ‘হে আল্লাহর রসুল! আপনি বৃদ্ধ হয়ে গেছেন।’ জবাবে তিনি বললেন, ‘আমাকে বৃদ্ধ করেছে হুদ, ওয়াকিয়া, মুরসালাত, নাবা, তাকভির প্রভৃতি সুরা।’ (তিরমিজি) অর্থাৎ আল্লাহর দীনের ওপর অটল থাকতে গিয়ে এবং তাঁর আদেশ-নিষেধ যথাযথভাবে পালন করতে গিয়ে অভিশপ্ত শয়তানের মোকাবিলা করতে হয়। যারা দীনের ওপর অটল থাকে তাদের মর্যাদার কথা উল্লেখ করে আল্লাহ বলেন, ‘নিশ্চয় যারা বলে আমাদের পালনকর্তা আল্লাহ। এরপর তাতে অটল থাকে। তাদের ওপর ফেরেশতা অবতীর্ণ হয় এবং বলে, তোমরা ভয় কোরো না ও চিন্তিত হইও না। আর তোমরা তোমাদের জন্য প্রতিশ্র“ত জান্নাতের সুসংবাদ গ্রহণ কর। ইহকালীন জীবনে ও পরকালে আমরা তোমাদের বন্ধু।’ (সুরা হা-মিম সাজদাহ, আয়াত ৩০) বর্ণিত আছে, ‘দীনের ওপর অটল থাকা এমন কষ্টকর যেমন জ্বলন্ত কয়লা হাতের মুঠোয় আঁকড়ে ধরে রাখা কষ্টকর।’ আমর (রা.) বলেন, আমি বললাম, ‘হে আল্লাহর রসুল! আপনি আমাকে ইসলামের এমন একটি কথা বলে দিন, যে সম্পর্কে আপনাকে ছাড়া অন্য কাউকে জিজ্ঞাসা না করতে হয়।’ তিনি বললেন, ‘তুমি বল, আমি আল্লাহর প্রতি ইমান আনলাম, এরপর (তার ওপর) অটল থাকো।’ (মুসলিম, তিরমিজি) আমাদের সমাজে চার ধরনের মানুষ রয়েছে। দৃঢ়বিশ্বাসী, অবিশ্বাসী, কপট বিশ্বাসী ও শিথিল বিশ্বাসী। অবিশ্বাসীরা দিশাহীন পথিক। ওরা পথভ্রষ্ট। ওদের আচরণ পশুর চেয়ে নিকৃষ্ট। কপট বিশ্বাসীরা সুবিধাবাদী ও সুযোগসন্ধানী। এরা বলে এটাও ঠিক, ওটাও ঠিক। এরা মানুষের ঘৃণার পাত্র। এরা জাহান্নামের সবচেয়ে নিচের স্তরে থাকবে। শিথিল বিশ্বাসীরা ভীরু ও কাপুরুষ।

এরা সর্বদা অন্যের দ্বারা ব্যবহƒত হয়। সমাজে এদের সংখ্যাই বেশি। প্রথমোক্ত লোকেরাই সমাজের নেতা ও পরিচালক সাধারণত হয়ে থাকে। তারা যদি প্রবৃত্তিপূজারি হয় ও তার ওপর দৃঢ় থাকে, তাহলে তারা হয় হঠকারী ও সমাজ ধ্বংসকারী। অন্যদিকে তারা যদি আল্লাহভীরু হয় এবং আল্লাহর আদেশ-নিষেধের ওপর দৃঢ় থাকে তাহলে তারা হয় সমাজের জন্য আশীর্বাদস্বরূপ। অনেক সময় অনেক দীনদার মানুষকে চরমপন্থি হতে দেখা যায়। এটা হয়ে থাকে তাদের দীন সম্পর্কে সঠিক জ্ঞান না থাকার কারণে। এদের থেকে বেঁচে থাকার জন্য রসুল (সা.) উম্মতকে সাবধান করে গেছেন। শৈথিল্যবাদীদের অবস্থা আরও করুণ। উভয় দল থেকে দূরে থেকে সর্বদা মধ্যপন্থি হয়ে আহলুস সুন্নাহর অনুসারী হওয়া একান্ত কাম্য। তাবেয়ি ইকরিমা (রহ.) থেকে বর্ণিত। ইবনে আব্বাস (রা.) বলেন, ‘প্রতি জুুমার দিন (সপ্তাহান্তে) একবার ওয়াজ-নসিহত কর। যদি তুমি পীড়াপীড়ি কর তবে দুবার, এর পরও যদি বাড়াতে চাও তবে তিনবার। লোকদের কোরআনের প্রতি বিরক্ত কোরো না।

এমন অবস্থা যেন না হয় যে, তুমি লোকদের কাছে গেলে এবং তাদের কোনো আলাপে লিপ্ত দেখলে, আর এ অবস্থায় তাদের তুমি ওয়াজ-নসিহত শুরু করে দিলে। ফলে তাদের আলাপে ছেদ পড়ল এবং তুমি তাদের অন্তর তোমার প্রতি ঘৃণায় ভরে দিলে। বরং এ অবস্থায় তুমি নীরব থাকো। যদি তারা আগ্রহভরে তোমার কাছে কিছু শুনতে চায় তবে তাদের কিছু বল। দোয়ায় কবিতার ছন্দমিল পরিহার কর। কেননা আমি রসুলুল্লাহ (সা.) ও তাঁর সাহাবিদের দেখেছি, তারা এরূপ করতেন না।’ (বুখারি থেকে মিশকাতে)

25 ASPs transferred at once

Argument over Argentina game, friend killed by stabbing
