1 killed, 2 injured in road accident in Saltha Upazila of Faridpur

ফরিদপুরের সালথা উপজেলায় নছিমনের সঙ্গে মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষে জিহাদ মোল্যা (২০) নামে এক মোটরসাইকেল চালক নিহত হয়েছেন।

আহত হয়েছেন অন্তত আরও দুই জন। আহতরা হলেন- সোহেল শেখ (১৬) ও বন্যা আক্তার (১৪)। তারা ফরিদপুর বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিব মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ভর্তি আছেন।
বুধবার (২৩ নভেম্বর) উপজেলার গট্টি ইউনিয়নের ফরিদপুর-সালথা সড়কের কসবাগট্টি চেয়ারম্যান বাড়ি মোড়ে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। জিহাদ ফরিদপুর সদরের কৈজুরী ইউনিয়নের ঘোড়াদহ গ্রামের কাইয়ুম মোল্যার ছেলে।

পুলিশ ও স্থানীয়রা জানান, মোটরসাইকেলে করে জিহাদ, সোহেল ও বন্য প্রধান সড়কের পূর্ব দিক থেকে আসছিলেন। পথে চেয়ারম্যান বাড়ি মোড় এলাকায় নছিমনের সঙ্গে মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষ হয়। পরে আহতদের উদ্ধার করে বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিব মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়। এদের মধ্যে জিহাদ মোল্যা মারা যান। বাকিদের অবস্থাও আশঙ্কাজনক।

ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করে সালথা থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মো. শেখ সাদিক গণমাধ্যম কে বলেন, ঘাতক নছিমনচালককে আটক করা সম্ভব হয়নি। এ বিষয়ে আইনগত ব্যবস্থা প্রক্রিয়াধীন।

Talking to some more farmers, they expressed their anger, saying that the price of fertilizer diesel pesticides as well as the price of all things has increased, the farmers have been sighed. If they used to buy paddy directly from the farmers at a price of Tk 1500, then the farmers would have been more interested in paddy cultivation.
Local agriculture officials said that those who had planted Aman paddy of early varieties, they cut their paddy in about 15/20 days ago. They will be able to cultivate mustard cultivation, potato, eggplant and winter vegetables as a crop crop in that land. It will provide money for Boro paddy cultivation in the next Samt. Farmers are interested in early Aman paddy cultivation in short periods.

Banks cannot file cheque dishonor case: High Court

From now on, the High Court has said that no bank or financial institution can file a check dishonor case against any person for loan.

Bank or financial institution can file a case in the Finance Court in the Finance Court as described in the Finance Act of 2003. Besides, all the checks made by the bank or financial institution currently running in the court will be closed.

Justice Md. canceled the check dishonor case of BRAC Bank against a person for loan. Ashraful Kamal's single High Court bench gave the verdict.

The court said that the check that is being taken against the bank loan is a security deposit, it is not a deed of exchange that is not a depositable document, the check dishonor can not be filed against the check.

The court said that loans from banks or financial institutions are taken through a contract. Some corrupt, dishonest officials of the bank are in their own interests, using checks for their secret agenda, their use like money by the businessmen.

The court said it is illegal to take blank check against the loan. Banks and financial institutions have been doing this illegal work for a long time. If the check dishonor is filed, the court will dismiss it directly and at the same time send them to the money loan court for the loan.

DU student dies after falling from roof

A student named Limon Kumar Rat (20) lost his life after falling from the roof of Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University (DU) at seven in the morning.

He died on the roof of a ten-storey building named Santosh Chandra Bhattacharya of Jagannath Hall on Wednesday (November 23) morning.
