আমরা বড় হই। যতটা চাই তার চেয়েও বেশি বড়। জীবন জটিল হয়। জটিল জীবনে সত্য রূঢ় হয়। জানা হয় সব চাওয়া কখনোই পাওয়া যায় না। কেন পাওয়া যায় না, সেই সত্যও উন্মুক্ত হয়ে যায় বড়বেলার বুদ্ধির কাছে। বড় নির্মম এই সব জেনে যাওয়ার নির্মমতা। যতদিন এই নির্মমতা না জেনে চাওয়ার আকুলতা ততদিনই জীবন জীবন থাকে। আর বাদবাকি দিন কেবল যুদ্ধের কৌশল নির্ণয়, শকুনির মতো ধূর্ততায়…।
