ঘূর্ণিঝড় সিত্রাং আজ (সোমবার) সন্ধ্যায় আঘাত হানবে বলে জানিয়েছেন দুর্যোগ ব্যবস্থাপনা ও ত্রাণ প্রতিমন্ত্রী ডা. এনামুর রহমান।

ঘূর্ণিঝড় সিত্রাং নিয়ে সোমবার (২৪ অক্টোবর) সচিবালয়ে এক  ব্রিফিংয়ে সাংবাদিকদের তিনি একথা জানান।

তিনি বলেন, ঘূর্ণিঝড় সিত্রাং সিভিয়ার সাইক্লোনে রূপান্তরিত  হয়েছে। আবহাওয়াবিদের তথ্য অনুযায়ী, আজ সন্ধ্যায় এটি আঘাত হানবে। আগামীকাল মঙ্গলবার ভোর ৬টা থেকে ৭টার মধ্যে উপকূল অতিক্রম  করবে।

তিনি আরও বলেন, সিত্রাং  বাংলাদেশে আঘাত হানবে। ভারতে আঘাত হানার সম্ভাবনা নেই। সব থেকে বেশি আঘাত  হানবে বরগুনা এবং পটুয়াখালী।

বাগেরহাটের উপকূলে সোমবার সকাল থেকে শুরু হয়েছে ভারি বৃষ্টি, সঙ্গে ঝড়ো হাওয়া। মোংলা বন্দরে জারি করা হয়েছে ৭ নম্বর সংকেত। নিরাপদ আশ্রয়ে যেতে মাইকিং চলছে।

ঘূর্ণিঝড় সিত্রাংয়ের প্রভাবে উপকূলীয় জেলা বাগেরহাটে গতরাত ভর হালকা থেকে মাঝারি ধরনের বৃষ্টিপাত হয়েছে। সময় বাড়ার সাথে সোমবার সকাল থেকে ভারিবৃষ্টি ও ঝড়োবাতাস বইছে। সিত্রাং মোকাবেলায় সব ধরনের প্রস্তুতি নিয়েছে বাগেরহাট প্রশাসন।গতকাল বিকেলে দূযোগ কমিটির সভায়

জেলা প্রশাসক মোহাম্মদ আজিজুর রহমান জানান, ৩৪৪ আশ্রয় কেন্দ্র প্রস্তুত রয়েছে। নির্দেশনা পাওয়া মাত্রই ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ এলাকার মানুষদের আশ্রয়কেন্দ্রে নেওয়ার ব্যবস্থা করা হবে। এছাড়া ২৯৮ মেট্রিকটন চাল ও নগদ চার লাখ ৮০ হাজার টাকা উপকূলীয় উপজেলার জন্য বরাদ্দ দেওয়া হয়েছে।

কোস্টগার্ড পশ্চিম জোন মোংলার স্টাফ অফিসার (অপারেশন) লে. কমান্ডার মো মহিউদ্দিন জামান বলেন, উপকূলীয় অঞ্চলের মানুষকে সাবধান করতে মাইকিং করা হচ্ছে।

তাদের নিরাপদে থাকতে অনুরোধ করা হচ্ছে। এদিকে মাছ ধরার জন্য২৮ তারিখ পযন্ত  নিষেধাজ্ঞা থাকায় সমুদ্রগামি ট্রলার গুলো ও শত শত জেলে নিরাপদে রয়েছে। বাগেরহাটের প্রধান ম্যসৎ অবতরণ কেন্দ্র কেবি বাজার সংলগ্ন ভৈরব নদীতে অনেক ট্রলার নোঙর করে রয়েছে।

বৃষ্টি  ঝড়ো হাওয়ার জন্য জেলা শহরের রাস্তা ঘাট অনেকটাই ফাঁকা। জরুরী প্রয়োজন এর মধ্যেও কিছু মানুষকে ছাতা নিয়ে বের হতে দেখা গেছে।

তবে আমবশ্যার সাথে ঘুনিঝড় হওয়ায় বাগেরহাটের উপকুলের  মানুষের মধ্যে জলোচ্ছ্বাসের ঝুঁকির মধ্যে  আতংক বিরাজ করছে।

ঘূর্ণিঝড় ‘সিত্রাং’র প্রভাবে দেশের সাত বিভাগে অতিভারি বৃষ্টি হতে পারে। এছাড়া বৃষ্টির কারণে চট্টগ্রামে হতে পারে পাহাড়ধস। সোমবার (২৪ অক্টোবর) ভারি বর্ষণের সতর্কবার্তায় এই তথ্য দিয়েছে আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর।

এতে বলা হয়েছে, ঘূর্ণিঝড় ‘সিত্রাং’র প্রভাবে সোমবার সকাল ১০টা থেকে পরবর্তী ৪৮ ঘণ্টার মধ্যে চট্টগ্রাম, বরিশাল, খুলনা, ঢাকা, রাজশাহী, ময়মনসিংহ ও সিলেট বিভাগের অনেক স্থানে ভারি (৪৪-৮৮ মিলিমিটার) থেকে অতিভারি (৮৯ মিলিমিটারের বেশি) বর্ষণ হতে পারে। এর প্রভাবে চট্টগ্রাম বিভাগের পাহাড়ি এলাকার কোথাও কোথাও হতে পারে ভূমিধস।

‘সিত্রাং’ বাংলাদেশের উপকূলের কাছাকাছি আসায় এরইমধ্যে মোংলা ও পায়রা বন্দরকে ৭ নম্বর বিপৎসংকেত এবং চট্টগ্রাম ও কক্সবাজার সমুদ্রবন্দরকে ৬ নম্বর বিপৎসংকেত দেখাতে বলা হয়েছে।

আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর জানায়, ঘূর্ণিঝড় কেন্দ্রের ৫৪ কিলোমিটারের মধ্যে বাতাসের একটানা সর্বোচ্চ গতিবেগ ঘণ্টায় ৬২ কিলোমিটার, যা দমকা বা ঝোড়ো হাওয়ার আকারে ৮৮ কিলোমিটার পর্যন্ত বাড়ছে। ঘূর্ণিঝড় কেন্দ্রের নিকটবর্তী এলাকায় বিক্ষুব্ধ রয়েছে সাগর।

দ্বীপ ও চরসমূহের নিম্নাঞ্চল স্বাভাবিক জোয়ারের চেয়ে ৫-৮ ফুটের বেশি উচ্চতায় জলোচ্ছ্বাসে প্লাবিত হতে পারে।

The sea is getting rougher as the time approaches. Cyclone Sitrang is bringing heavy rains and increasing wind speeds along the coast.

The cyclone, which is located in the east-central Bay of Bengal and the adjacent west-central Bay of Bengal, has moved further towards Chittagong and Cox's Bazar.

The cyclone is likely to directly hit the Barisal coast tomorrow, Tuesday. The Meteorological Department said that due to its impact, the low-lying areas of the country's chars will be flooded with a tidal surge of 5-8 feet higher than the normal tide.

This alarm was raised in the Meteorological Department's special warning number 8 this Monday (October 24) morning.

The warning states that due to the influence of the cyclone's leading edge, new moon date and high air pressure difference, the coastal districts of Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalokati, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barisal, Laxmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Chittagong and Cox's Bazar and their nearby islands and chars may be inundated by wind-driven tidal surges 5-8 feet higher than normal tides.

As a result, the Meteorological Department has asked the Payra and Mongla seaports to lower warning signal number four and raise danger signal number seven.

Meteorologists say that due to the impact of the cyclone, moderate to heavy rain has started in most areas including the coast of Bangladesh. Along with this, gusty winds are blowing at a speed of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour. It may hit Bangladesh tomorrow morning.

The coastal districts of Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalokati, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barisal, Laxmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni and their offshore islands and chars will remain under the danger signal number 7 (seven). The seaports of Chittagong and Cox's Bazar have been asked to lower the local warning signal number 4 (four) and instead display the danger signal number 6 (six) (re:) 6 (six) danger signal.

The coastal districts of Chittagong and Cox's Bazar and their offshore islands and chars will remain under danger signal number 6 (six).

Nature sometimes takes on adverse forms, which we call natural disasters. Such as cyclones, Kalvaishakhi storms, hailstorms, droughts, tidal waves, heavy rains, floods, droughts, wildfires, cold waves, famines, earthquakes, and tsunamis.

All the control and management of nature is under Allah. All these things happen only by His command. Not even a leaf of a tree moves outside His command and order.

Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran about disasters: 'And We will certainly test you with something of fear and hunger and loss of lives and wealth and fruits. And give good news to the patient. Those who say, in their time of distress, "Surely we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we shall return," - upon them is forgiveness from their Lord and mercy, and it is they who are guided. (Surah Al-Baqarah, Verses 155-157)

What the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to do in times of disaster

The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to get scared and walk around anxiously when he saw the wind blowing. He used to be happy when it rained. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that when the sky was cloudy and the wind was blowing, the face of the Prophet (peace be upon him) would look worried. Seeing this situation, he would walk around and recite this supplication:

God bless him and grant him peace مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ

The district administration has taken extensive preparations in the cyclone Sitrang Nit, which has taken various decisions including cancellation of leave of government officials, and the 401 Ashrani center will be opened.

Deputy Commissioner Deoan Mahbubur Rahman took these decisions in the meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee in his conference room on Monday (October 24) morning.

The District Commissioner said, "We have opened the control room on behalf of the district administration, while 8,380 volunteers have been kept ready on the coast. Adequately, the medical team, the round-the-clock mobile team, is already prepared.

He added that everyone should be vigilant, we pray that Allah be with us. We will be ready before we have any difficulties or any problems.

Sabha, Additional Superintendent of Police (headquarters) Md. Mortahin Billah, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Israt Sadmin and other heads of various departments, media workers, voluntary organizations were present.

Meanwhile, due to the influence of Sitrang, it is raining with gusty winds in No'khali, where the Meghna river is rough, all communication with Hatita, Dwip Upazila, has stopped all communication.

Md Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of No'khali Awahawta office, said that No'khali has come to the 7th danger signal.

এতে বলা হয়েছে, ঘূর্ণিঝড়টির অগ্রবর্তী অংশ, অমাবশ্যা তিথি ও বায়ুচাপ পার্থক্যের আধিক্যের প্রভাবে উপকূলীয় জেলা সাতক্ষীরা, খুলনা, বাগেরহাট, ঝালকাঠি, পিরোজপুর, বরগুনা, পটুয়াখালী, ভোলা, বরিশাল, লক্ষ্মীপুর, চাঁদপুর, নোয়াখালী, ফেনী, চট্টগ্রাম ও কক্সবাজার এবং তাদের অদূরবর্তী দ্বীপ ও চরগুলোর নিম্নাঞ্চল স্বাভাবিক জোয়ারের চেয়ে ৫ থেকে ৭ ফুট অধিক উচ্চতার বায়ুতাড়িত জলোচ্ছ্বাসে প্লাবিত হতে পারে।

ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের প্রভাবে রাজধানীসহ সারাদেশেই বৃষ্টি শুরু হয়েছে। তা আস্তে আস্তে বাড়তে থাকবে। বিশেষ করে উপকূল অঞ্চলে বৃষ্টির তীব্রতা বেশি থাকবে।

এ ছাড়া চট্টগ্রাম, কক্সবাজার, মোংলা ও পায়রা সমুদ্রবন্দরকে ৪ নম্বর স্থানীয় হুঁশিয়ারি সংকেত দেখিয়ে যেতে বলা হয়েছে। উত্তর বঙ্গোপসাগর ও গভীর সাগরে অবস্থানরত সকল মাছ ধরার নৌকা ও ট্রলারকে পরবর্তী নির্দেশ না দেওয়া পর্যন্ত নিরাপদ আশ্রয়ে থাকতে বলা হয়েছে।

ঘূর্ণিঝড় ‘সিত্রাং’য়ের প্রভাবে দেশের অনেক এলাকায় সকাল থেকে বৃষ্টি হচ্ছে। মাঝেমধ্যে দমকা বাতাস বইছে। এমন অবস্থায় সারাদেশে সব ধরনের যাত্রীবাহী লঞ্চ চলাচল বন্ধের সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ অভ্যন্তরীণ নৌ-পরিবহন কর্তৃপক্ষ।

আজ সোমবার (২৪ অক্টোবর) সকালে ঢাকা মেইলকে এই তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছেন বিআইডব্লিউটিএর পরিচালক (ট্রাফিক) রফিকুল ইসলাম।

তিনি বলেন, ২ নম্বর সংকেত দেওয়ার পর স্বাভাবিকভাবেই ছোট লঞ্চগুলো চলাচল বন্ধ করা হয়। এখন চলছে তিন নম্বর সংকেত। ফলে আমরা সব ধরণের যাত্রীবাহী লঞ্চ চলাচল বন্ধ রাখার নির্দেশ দিয়েছি। পরবর্তী নির্দেশ না দেওয়া পর্যন্ত লঞ্চ বন্ধ থাকবে।

এদিকে আবহাওয়া অধিদফতরের দেওয়া তথ্যমতে, সাতক্ষীরা, খুলনা, বাগেরহাট, ঝালকাঠি, পিরোজপুর, বরগুনা, পটুয়াখালী, ভোলা, বরিশাল, লক্ষ্মীপুর, চাঁদপুর, নোয়াখালী, ফেনী, চট্টগ্রাম ও কক্সবাজার জেলার নদীবন্দরসমূহকে ৩ (তিন) নম্বর নৌ-বিপদ সংকেত (পুনঃ) ৩ (তিন) নম্বর নৌ-বিপদ সংকেত দেখাতে বলা হয়েছে।

The cyclone ‘Sitrang’, which is located in the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining West-Middle Bengal, is located in the same area.

The cyclone may hit the coast of Bangladesh early on Tuesday (October 25) and the cyclone-related regional organization Escape has named the cyclone Sitrang, the Thai language, which means leaf.

The weather offices in India and Bangladesh know that the Sitrang is getting more concentrated in the center of it, it can be up to 110 km in the center. It will bend the cyclone and move towards the coast of Bangladesh in a bang. It will rise on the ground, but it is still located 700 km from the coast.

The Meteorological Department says that the water level in the sea will be higher in the sea during the new moon on Monday (October 24). The coastal districts of the country may be flooded with high tides.

Meteorologist Hafizur Rahman said that it is not possible to specify which coasts of the country can be affected by being 700 km from the Sitrang coast.

He also said that it may cross the coast of Bangladesh tomorrow morning on October 25.

ঘূর্ণিঝড় সিত্রাংয়ের প্রভাবে ১০ জেলায় ঝোড়ো হাওয়াসহ বজ্রবৃষ্টির সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। সোমবার (২৪ অক্টোবর) আবহাওয়াবিদ হাফিজুর রহমান গণমাধ্যমকে এ তথ্য জানান।

তিনি জানান, আজ ভোর থেকে ঢাকা, ফরিদপুর, যশোর, কুষ্টিয়া, খুলনা, বরিশাল, পটুয়াখালী, কুমিল্লা, চট্টগ্রাম এবং কক্সবাজার অঞ্চলগুলোর ওপর দিয়ে পূর্ব-দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব দিক থেকে ঘণ্টায় ৬০ থেকে ৮০ কিলোমিটার বেগে বৃষ্টি ও বজ্রবৃষ্টিসহ অস্থায়ীভাবে ঝোড়ো হাওয়া বয়ে যেতে পারে।

এ ছাড়া দেশের অন্যত্র পূর্ব ও দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব দিক থেকে ঘণ্টায় ৪৫ থেকে ৬০ কিলোমিটার বেগে বৃষ্টি এবং বজ্র বৃষ্টিসহ অস্থায়ীভাবে দমকা ও ঝোড়ো হাওয়া বয়ে যেতে পারে। ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের প্রভাবে রাজধানীসহ সারাদেশেই বৃষ্টি শুরু হয়েছে। তা আস্তে আস্তে বাড়তে থাকবে। বিশেষ করে উপকূল অঞ্চলে বৃষ্টির তীব্রতা বেশি থাকবে।
