National Party Upazila Day celebrated in Raipur

Jati Party celebrated upazila day by holding a colorful rally in Ratapur of Lakshmipur.

On Monday morning (October 23), Jatiya Party leader Borhan Uddin Mithu was the chief guest.

Japa leader Borhan Uddin Mithu said, "It will not be possible to score an open field goal in the upcoming national elections. He is former President Hussain Muhammad Ershad on this day in 1984. Mentioning that he started the development of the country by establishing the upazila, he called upon the Jati Party to join the movement in a more organized way.

Community policing rally held in Chatkhil

A community policing rally was held on Sunday morning at the Chatkhil Police Station in Noakhali. Noakhali District Superintendent of Police Shahidul Islam PPM was present as the chief guest at the event.

The rally, chaired by Upazila Community Police President Billal Chowdhury, was addressed as special guests by Deepak Jyoti Khisa, who was recently promoted to Superintendent of Police, Additional Superintendent of Police Nazmul Hasan Rajib PPM, and Chatkhil Municipality Mayor Nizam Uddin VP.

Low pressure area advances further, may affect coast today

The low pressure area located over the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas has moved further northwestward, the Meteorological Department said. It is likely to affect the coast on Sunday.

"The low pressure was located 840 km south-southwest of Chittagong Seaport, 765 km south-southwest of Cox's Bazar Seaport, 830 km south of Mongla Seaport and 780 km south of Payra Seaport at 6 am today, Sunday. It may further intensify and move northwestwards."

'The maximum sustained wind speed within 44 km of the low pressure centre is 40 kmph, increasing to 50 kmph in gusts or squalls. The sea is rough in the area near the low pressure centre.' 'The seaports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been asked to display distant warning signal number one.

"All fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay of Bengal and deep sea have been asked to operate with caution close to the coast. They have also been asked not to venture into the deep sea."




National Road Safety Day celebrated in Lakshmipur

A mortar shell of Netrakona's Durgapur Upazila was found in 1953.

On Saturday (October 22) at noon, the driver of the upazila's Sadar Unit of the upazila found the mortar shell of Nazim Uddin's pond.

Meteorologist Md. Bazulur Rashid said that the low pressure in the Andaman Sea and the adjacent South East Bay of Bengal is staying in the same area in the form of a distinct low pressure. It may condense further and become a depression.

He further said that the day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. The weather conditions may deteriorate in the coastal areas of Bangladesh in the next two days.

No rainfall was recorded anywhere in the country during the last 24 hours. Yesterday evening the lowest temperature of the country was 17.8 degrees Celsius at Tentulia.

The highest temperature in the country was 35.3 degrees Celsius in Sandwip. Also, the temperature in the capital was 34.4 degrees Celsius.
