The low pressure in the sea is located 765 km south-southwest from Cox's Bazar sea port, said the Meteorological Office. It is moving northwestward and is staying over the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, the agency said.

This information was informed in the special warning No. 3 of the Meteorological Department on Sunday morning (October 23).

Meteorologist Md. Bajlur Rashid said that the low pressure over the East-Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas is moving further towards the northwest and is staying in the same area (Latitude: 15.0° North, Longitude: 89.5° East).

Meanwhile, within 44 km of the low pressure center, maximum sustained wind speed is 40 km/h, increasing to 50 km/h in the form of gusty winds. The ocean is rough in the area near the low pressure center.

Also Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to display remote warning signal number one.

All fishing boats and trawlers operating in North Bay of Bengal and deep sea have been asked to move cautiously from near the coast. Also they are told not to wander in the deep sea.

A mortar shell of Netrakona's Durgapur Upazila was found in 1953.

On Saturday (October 22) at noon, the driver of the upazila's Sadar Unit of the upazila found the mortar shell of Nazim Uddin's pond.

In the evening the news The police recovered the mortar shell and placed it in the devatoil playground near the scene, which is currently being kept away from the crowd for the police guard.

Deputy Inspector (SI) of Durgapur Police Station. Abdul Hannan said that the mortar shell has been kept unexploded for public safety. The explosives expert team has been summoned to know the poison to the higher authorities.

আইন মেনে সড়কে চলি, নিরাপদে ঘরে ফিরি” এ প্রতিপাদ্যকে সামনে রেখে নেত্রকোনায় পালিত হয়েছে জাতীয় নিরাপদ সড়ক দিবস ২০২২। দিবসটি উদযাপন উপলক্ষ্যে শনিবার জেলা প্রশাসন ও বি আর টিয়ের আয়োজনে আলোচনা সভা ও র‍্যালি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।

সকালে শহরের মোক্তারপাড়া মাঠ থেকে একটি বনার্ঢ্য র‍্যালি বের হয়ে মোক্তারপাড়া মগড়া নদীর ব্রিজ পার হয়ে জেলা প্রশাসকের কার্যালয়ে এসে শেষ হয়। পরে জেলা প্রশাসনের সম্মেলন কক্ষে দিবসটির উদ্যেশ্য নিয়ে আলোচনা সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

আলোচনা সভায় অতিরিক্ত জেলা ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট (এডিএম) আব্দুল্লাহ আল মনসুরের সভাপতিত্বে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জেলা প্রশাসক ও বিজ্ঞ জেলা ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট অঞ্জনা খান মজলিশ। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন পুলিশ সুপার মো.ফয়েজ আহমেদ, সিভিল সার্জন ডা. মো সেলিম মিঞা।

According to the Department of Meteorology, the low pressure in the Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal is staying in the same area in the form of a distinct low pressure. It could further condense into a depression, the agency said.

Also, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to carefully monitor further instructions. Fishing boats and trawlers operating in North Bay of Bengal have been asked to proceed with caution. Also they are told not to wander in the deep sea.

Meanwhile, the 24-hour weather forecast on Friday night (October 21) said that the weather in the whole country may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.

Meteorologist Md. Bazulur Rashid said that the low pressure in the Andaman Sea and the adjacent South East Bay of Bengal is staying in the same area in the form of a distinct low pressure. It may condense further and become a depression.

He further said that the day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. The weather conditions may deteriorate in the coastal areas of Bangladesh in the next two days.

No rainfall was recorded anywhere in the country during the last 24 hours. Yesterday evening the lowest temperature of the country was 17.8 degrees Celsius at Tentulia.

The highest temperature in the country was 35.3 degrees Celsius in Sandwip. Also, the temperature in the capital was 34.4 degrees Celsius.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 43 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs by conducting anti-narcotics operations in different areas of the capital.

A large amount of drugs have been seized from those who have been arrested. 34 cases have been filed against the arrested persons of various police stations of DMP.

This Saturday (October 22) morning, DMP's Midi and Public Relations Department Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Md. Farooq Hossain came to know this information.

He said that as part of the anti-narcotics campaign of DMP, they were arrested in various areas of the capital from 6 am on Friday to 6 am.

631 pieces of Eightaba, 26 grams 30 purita heroin, 2 kg 440 grams 250 purita ganja and 20 bottles of Fensidil were seized from them.

He also said that 34 cases have been registered against the arrested police station under Narcotics Control Act.

ময়মনসিংহ নগরীর গাঙ্গিনারপাড় এলাকায় হকার্স মার্কেটের আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে এসেছে। ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ছয় ইউনিটের চেষ্টায় আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে।

 শনিবার (২২ অক্টোবর) সকাল ৮টা ৫০ মিনিটের দিকে ভয়াবহ অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটে। আগুন নেভাতে কাজ করে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ছয় ইউনিট। তাদের চেষ্টায় সকাল সাড়ে ৯টার দিকে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে। তবে পুরোপুরি আগুন নিভে সকাল ১০টার দিকে।

জানা যায়, সকাল পৌনে ৯টার দিকে অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটে। এতে দুইটি দোকানের সব মালামাল পুড়ে গেছে। এছাড়া আশপাশের বেশ কয়েকটি দোকান ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে।

বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেন কোতোয়ালি মডেল থানার পরিদর্শক (তদন্ত) ফারুক হোসেন।

লক্ষ্মীপুরে যুবদল নেতা শিক্ষানবিশ আইনজীবী দিদারুল আলম হত্যার একযুগ পর মো. হিরন ভূঁইয়া নামে এক আসামিকে গ্রেফতার করেছেন পুলিশ।

গতকাল শুক্রবার (২১ অক্টোবর) রাত ৮টার দিকে সদর উপজেলার উত্তর হামছাদী ইউনিয়নের মির্জাপুর গ্রাম থেকে তাকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়।

লক্ষ্মীপুর সদর মডেল থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মোসলেহ উদ্দিন  বিষয়টি জানিয়েছেন। হিরন একই এলাকার ভূঁইয়া বাড়ির রফিক উল্যা ভূঁইয়ার ছেলে।

মামলা সূত্র জানায়, ২০১২ সালের ৩০ অক্টোবর জেলা বিএনপির সাবেক সভাপতি আবুল খায়ের ভূঁইয়া ও খালেদা জিয়ার সাবেক প্রধান নিরাপত্তা সমন্বয়কারী কর্নেল (অব.) আবদুল মজিদের অনুসারীদের মধ্যে উত্তর হামছাদী ইউনিয়নের কালিবাজার এলাকায় সংঘর্ষের ঘটনা ঘটে।

ওইদিন সংঘর্ষে দিদার নিহত হন। এ ঘটনায় পরদিন দিদারের স্ত্রী রেহানা আক্তার বাদী হয়ে কর্নেল মজিদসহ ২৫ জনের নাম উল্লেখ ও অজ্ঞাত ২৫ জনের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা দায়ের করেন।

আজ শনিবার (২২ অক্টোবর) সকাল ৮টার দিকে লক্ষ্মীপুর জেলা বিএনপির যুগ্ম-আহবায়ক অ্যাডভোকেট হাছিবুর রহমান জানান, দিদার হত্যা মামলাটি বর্তমানে বিচারাধীন রয়েছে।

ওসি মোসলেহ উদ্দিন জানান, গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে হত্যা মামলার আসামি হিরনকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে। তিনি থানা পুলিশ হেফাজতে রয়েছে।
