‘A fraudster and two associates have been arrested on charges of defrauding people by sending them abroad under the guise of 'MP Mizanur'. Parliament security personnel arrested three members of the fraudster gang during the National Parliament session last Saturday. They are on a three-day remand at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station in the capital.

This gang has extorted crores of taka from at least 40 people by promising to send them to the European country Kosovo. The fake MP Shamimur Rahman alias Atiq alias MP Mizanur was assisted in this work by Rahul Hossain, a computer operator appointed as the master roll of the Parliament Secretariat. Through him, the alleged MP used to collect passes to enter the Parliament and regularly come and go to the Parliament. In addition, numerous people who wanted to go abroad were cheated by giving them the opportunity to enter the Parliament with the gate passes.

The victims of the fraud, Mehedi Hasan of Barguna, Nahidul Islam of Natore and Aminul Haque of Habiganj, have filed a case against Shamimur Rahman and his associates at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station. The investigation officer of the case, Sub-Inspector Anwar Hossain Khan, told Samakal on Wednesday night that the three-day remand of the accused will end on Thursday. The case has been filed on charges of impersonating an MP and embezzling Tk 16 lakh 92 thousand by cheating. An investigation is underway.

Mehedi Hasan, the plaintiff in the case, said that Shamimur Rahman alias Mizanur's home is in Jagatpur, Titas Upazila, Comilla. In Dhaka, he lives in Mohammadpur Housing Society. He also implicated his wife Moutusi Rahman in the fraud. One of Mizanur's associates was Rahul Hossain, a computer operator who was appointed to the master roll of the Parliament Secretariat. His home is in Kamalpur, Mithamoin, Kishoreganj district. In Dhaka, he lives in Satmasjid Housing, Mohammadpur.

Mehedi Hasan alleged that Shamimur Rahman introduced himself as MP Mizanur and collected blood samples from him through Rahul, the computer operator of the Parliament House, claiming to be sending him to Kosovo with a government job. Mizanur charged 594,000 taka for medical fees at various times. The last time he charged 66,000 taka on the ground floor of the Parliament House on February 29.
The case report states that Mizanur took Tk 660,000 from 40 people for medical fees and Tk 92,000 each for emergency police clearance from 23 people. Last Friday, he took Tk 940,000 from 15 people at the Metsafe restaurant on the second floor of the Parliament Club, saying that a team from the Kosovo Embassy would come to interview those interested in going abroad.

People started to suspect Mizanur as there was no embassy team during the interview. At one point, they learned that Mizanur was a fake MP and the woman posing as a representative of the Kosovo embassy on the interview board was his wife, Moutusi Rahman.

The party has sided with the family of Abdur Rashid, who was killed in an anti-government movement of BNP, and on behalf of BNP's acting chairman Tarek Rahman, he will hand over the financial donation to the family of Abdur Rashid on Tuesday.

In Gulshan, the donation was given by the party's chairperson's political office, Aminul Haque, member secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP, and also took the responsibility of writing for Rashid's children.

On October 29 last year, the party claimed that Rashid was killed by throwing it from the roof of Mohammadpur area of the capital. He was the former youth party leader of Adabar police station and the local government secretary of Adabar Thana.

He said that Abdur Rashid has two children, one of them is a third class student, another is a second-grade student, and other expenses will be borne by the team.

Aminul Haque said that Abdur Rashid was killed by throwing him from the roof to create a scary situation in the country during the movement.

BNP Chetsar Person Advisor Abul Khather Bhui, Metropolitan North BNP leader Anonoruzzaman Anoitor, Ferdowsi Rahman Mishti, Mostafizur Rahman Segun, Ataur Rahman Cheeturman and other local BNP leaders were also present in the financial support ceremony.

বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগের যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক ও ঢাকা-৮ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য কৃষিবিদ আ ফ ম বাহাউদ্দিন নাছিম বলেছেন, ‘আমরা শান্তিপূর্ণ ও সমৃদ্ধ বাংলাদেশ চাই। উন্নত ও সমৃদ্ধ বাংলাদেশ গড়তে হলে আমাদের দেশকে সাম্প্রদায়িক শক্তির হাত থেকে রক্ষা করতে হবে। যারা গণতান্ত্রিক চর্চা ও ধারাবাহিকতাকে নষ্ট করতে চায় তাদের বিপক্ষে আমাদের সকলকে ঐক্যবদ্ধ হতে হবে। বঙ্গবন্ধু কন্যা শেখ হাসিনার নেতৃত্বে এই অশুভ শক্তির হাত থেকে বাংলাদেশকে রক্ষা করতে হবে।’

বুধবার (৬ মার্চ) সকালে রাজধানীর মতিঝিল ‘সাউথ পয়েন্ট নগর ব্যায়ামাগার’ উদ্বোধনকালে তিনি এ কথা বলেন।

তিনি বলেন, ‘আমরা গণতান্ত্রিক ধারাবাহিকতাকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে সমৃদ্ধ বাংলাদেশ, জাগ্রত বাংলাদেশ এবং বীরের জাতি হিসেবে বঙ্গবন্ধুর সোনার বাংলাদেশ গড়ে তুলব। যে সোনার বাংলাদেশ হবে গণতান্ত্রিক বাংলাদেশ, সে সোনার বাংলাদেশ হবে ধনী-গরিবের বৈষম্যহীন একটি দেশ। শেখ হাসিনার নেতৃত্বে একটি আধুনিক আত্মমর্যাদাশীল এবং সুন্দর শান্তিময় বাংলাদেশ আমরা প্রতিষ্ঠা করব, এই হলো আমাদের লক্ষ্য।’

নাছিম বলেন, ‘আমাদের দেশকে এগিয়ে নিতে হলে মাদকমুক্ত বাংলাদেশ গড়তে হবে। মাদক নির্মূল করা গেলে তরুণ প্রজন্ম সুস্থভাবে বেড়ে উঠবে। সন্ত্রাস, চাঁদাবাজের হাত থেকে বাংলাদেশ মুক্তি পাবে। মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী দেশরত্ন শেখ হাসিনার অন্যতম লক্ষ্য হলো সন্ত্রাস, চাঁদাবাজ ও মাদকমুক্ত বাংলাদেশ গড়া।’

তিনি বলেন, ‘মাদকের বিরুদ্ধে বঙ্গবন্ধুকন্যা শেখ হাসিনার নেতৃত্বে যে অভিযান পরিচালিত হচ্ছে তা অব্যাহত থাকবে। এর পাশাপাশি আমাদেরকেও মাদকের বিরুদ্ধে তৈরি থাকতে হবে। আমাদের তরুণ প্রজন্মকে মাদকের হাত থেকে রক্ষা করতে হবে। মাদকের বিরুদ্ধে সফল হতে এই ব্যায়ামাগারগুলো একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করবে। ব্যায়াম করলে শারীরিক ও মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য ভালো থাকে। তাদেরকে মাদক কখনোই আসক্ত করতে পারে না। মাদকমুক্ত বাংলাদেশ গড়া প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দৃঢ় অঙ্গীকার।’

তিনি আরও বলেন, ‘এক সময় সুঠাম দেহের অধিকারী বডি বিল্ডারদের প্রাণকেন্দ্র ছিল ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি করপোরেশনের পুরান ঢাকা। ঢাকাকে সেই পুরোনো ধারায় সারা বাংলাদেশের মানুষের কাছে তুলে ধরার জন্য ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি করপোরেশন উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে। তারা আগামী দিনে এমন আরও ব্যায়ামাগার নির্মাণ করে ঢাকা শহরকে মাদকমুক্ত করতে বলিষ্ঠ ভূমিকা রাখবে।’

অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি করপোরেশনের মেয়র ব্যারিস্টার শেখ ফজলে নূর তাপস, ঢাকা মহানগর দক্ষিণ আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা আবু আহমেদ মন্নাফিসহ স্থানীয় কাউন্সিলর ও আওয়ামী লীগ নেতৃবৃন্দ।

In response to open calls for action by Bangladesh Chhatra League and in the interest of public order, the police confirmed yesterday that they have identified the true owner of www.democracytoday.net .

According to authorities, plainclothes police officers, acting on a report from members of the Bangladesh Chhatra League, visited an address associated with the site. Inquiries led to the disclosure of the current address of the website owner.

Authorities revealed that the suspect is a Bangladeshi national named Mohammad Juned Ahmed from the Sylhet area. Based on gathered evidence and inquiries, they confirmed that the suspect is currently overseas. However, they asserted that he will be arrested for the commission of serious crimes under the Digital Security Act. These offences are deemed arrestable without a warrant.

The authorities have urged angry sections of the public to remain calm and assured that the suspect will be brought before the courts very soon.

সাম্যবাদ প্রতিষ্ঠার লক্ষ্যে বাংলাদেশের কমিউনিস্ট পার্টির (সিপিবি) জন্ম। দলটি দীর্ঘদিন আওয়ামী লীগ ও বিএনপিকেন্দ্রিক দ্বিদলীয় বৃত্তের বাইরে বিকল্প শক্তি গড়ার চেষ্টা করে আসছে। ২০২২ সালের দ্বাদশ কংগ্রেসেও বাম গণতান্ত্রিক বিকল্প গড়ার অঙ্গীকার পুনর্ব্যক্ত করে নেতারা তারুণ্যনির্ভর নেতৃত্ব ঘোষণা দেন।

এরই মধ্যে কমিটি দুই বছর পার করেছে। তাদের নেতৃত্বে লক্ষ্য পূরণে কতটুকু এগিয়েছে সিপিবি, কতটা জনসমর্থন পেয়েছে তাদের আদর্শ ও লড়াই-সংগ্রাম– এমন প্রশ্নে দলটির নেতাকর্মীই বলছেন, বাস্তবতা অস্বীকারের উপায় নেই। সাম্যবাদ ও বিকল্প গড়ার লড়াই-সংগ্রামের সফলতা সুদূর পরাহত। উল্টো অভ্যন্তরীণ মতভেদ বেড়েছে। বর্তমান নেতৃত্বের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ উঠেছে ‘দল কুক্ষিগত’ করার। এরই জেরে সম্প্রতি প্রবীণ নেতা ও সাবেক সভাপতি মনজুরুল আহসান খানকে উপদেষ্টা পদ থেকে অব্যাহতি দেওয়া হয়েছে।
এমন অবস্থায় আজ বুধবার সিপিবি ৭৬তম প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকী উদযাপন করবে। কেন্দ্রীয়ভাবে সকালে রাজধানীর পুরানা পল্টনের কেন্দ্রীয় কার্যালয় মুক্তি ভবনে দলীয় পতাকা উত্তোলন এবং বিকেল ৪টায় সমাবেশ ও লাল পতাকা মিছিল করবেন নেতাকর্মীরা। দেশজুড়ে একই কর্মসূচি পালন করা হবে।

১৯৪৭ সালে ভারত ভাগের পর ১৯৪৮ সালের ৬ মার্চ কলকাতা সম্মেলনে গঠিত হয় পাকিস্তানের কমিউনিস্ট পার্টি। একই সম্মেলনে খোকা রায়কে সম্পাদক করে কমিউনিস্ট পার্টির পূর্ববাংলা আঞ্চলিক কমিটি বা পূর্ব পাকিস্তান প্রাদেশিক কমিটি গঠন করা হয়। স্বাধীনতার পর এটিই বাংলাদেশের কমিউনিস্ট পার্টি (সিপিবি) নাম নেয়।
অবশ্য এ দেশে কমিউনিস্ট আন্দোলনে যাত্রা সিপিবি প্রতিষ্ঠারও প্রায় তিন দশক আগে, ১৯২০ সালে। তবে পাকিস্তান প্রতিষ্ঠার পর পশ্চিম পাকিস্তানের শাসকগোষ্ঠী দলটির কর্মীদের ওপর হত্যা-নির্যাতন ও হুলিয়ার খড়্গ চালায়। হাজারো নেতাকর্মী দেশত্যাগে বাধ্য হন। ১৯৫০ সালের ২৪ এপ্রিল রাজশাহীর খাপড়া জেলে কমিউনিস্ট রাজবন্দিদের ওপর পুলিশ গুলি চালিয়ে সাত কমরেডকে শহীদ করে, যা এ ভূখণ্ডের প্রথম জেলহত্যা। প্রতিবাদে পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের কমিউনিস্টরা গণআন্দোলন গড়ে তোলেন। তারা তেভাগা, নানকার, টংকসহ নানা কৃষক-শ্রমিক আন্দোলনের পাশাপাশি ছাত্র ও সাংস্কৃতিক আন্দোলন সংঘটিত করেন। ভাষা আন্দোলন, মহান মুক্তিযুদ্ধ, স্বৈরাচারবিরোধী গণতান্ত্রিক সংগ্রাম, সাম্প্রদায়িকতা ও সাম্রাজ্যবাদবিরোধী লড়াই, জাতীয় সম্পদ রক্ষা, যুদ্ধাপরাধী ও যুদ্ধাপরাধী সংগঠন জামায়াত-শিবির নিষিদ্ধের দাবিসহ সব আন্দোলনেই সিপিবি অনন্য ভূমিকা রেখেছে।

কিংবদন্তি কমিউনিস্ট নেতা সিপিবির সাবেক সভাপতি কমরেড মণি সিংহ ছিলেন মুক্তিযুদ্ধকালীন প্রবাসী সরকারের উপদেষ্টামণ্ডলীর সদস্য। নিয়মিত বাহিনীর বাইরেও ন্যাপ, কমিউনিস্ট পার্টি, ছাত্র ইউনিয়নের সমন্বয়ে যৌথ গেরিলা বাহিনী গঠন করে সিপিবি মুক্তিযুদ্ধে অংশ নেয়।
১৯৭৫ সালে বঙ্গবন্ধুকে সপরিবারে হত্যার পর সিপিবি রাজপথে প্রতিবাদ করে। জিয়াউর রহমানের শাসনামলে সিপিবির সাবেক সাধারণ সম্পাদক কমরেড মোহাম্মদ ফরহাদের বিরুদ্ধে রাষ্ট্রদ্রোহ মামলা হয়। সিপিবিকেও বেআইনি ঘোষণা করা হয়। প্রতিষ্ঠার পর থেকে প্রায় অর্ধেক সময় দলটি বেআইনি ছিল। এমনকি স্বাধীন দেশেও সিপিবিকে একাধিকবার বেআইনি হতে হয়েছে। দীর্ঘ আন্দোলন-সংগ্রামে সিপিবির অসংখ্য নেতাকর্মী জীবন দিয়েছেন। সর্বশেষ ২০০১ সালের ২০ জানুয়ারি পল্টন ময়দানে সিপিবির মহাসমাবেশে বোমা হামলা হলে পাঁচ নেতাকর্মী শহীদ হন।
দীর্ঘ যাত্রাপথে সিপিবি কয়েক দফা ভাঙনের কবলে পড়েছে। দলটির অসংখ্য নেতা বিভিন্ন দলে যোগ দিয়েছেন। স্বাধীনতার আগে ও পরে ১৯৯১ সালের নির্বাচন পর্যন্ত সিপিবি আওয়ামী লীগ নেতৃত্বাধীন জোটে ছিল। পরে বিভিন্ন সময়ে বাম গণতান্ত্রিক ফ্রন্ট, ১১ দলসহ নানা গণতান্ত্রিক প্রগতিশীল জোটে শামিল হয়। বর্তমানে বাম গণতান্ত্রিক বিকল্প বলয় গড়ে তোলার লক্ষ্যে সিপিবি বাম গণতান্ত্রিক জোটের শরিক হিসেবে কাজ করছে।

এদিকে স্বাধীনতার পর থেকে প্রায় সব নির্বাচনে অংশ নিলেও সিপিবিসহ অন্যান্য বামপন্থি দলের সমন্বয়ে গঠিত বাম গণতান্ত্রিক জোট ২০১৪ সালের ৫ জানুয়ারি এবং সর্বশেষ গত ৭ জানুয়ারির সংসদ নির্বাচন বর্জন করে।

Chhatra League leaders collect money from various mobile shopkeepers in Rajshahi University (Rabi) campus. The shops are open due to the huge crowd of people in the exam, and the leaders and workers of this student organization of the ruling party have been charged with a huge amount of money.

A dub seller, on condition of anonymity, complained that four or five people came and demanded 1,000 rupees from him, but he refused to pay, then the BCL leaders said that if you want to do business here, you have to pay 1000 rupees.

A Fuchka seller said, ‘The people of the Chhatra League came and demanded money from me. All of them are known to me. Among them were Laban Bhai, Sadiq Bhai, Tauhid and Tamim. 500 rupees have been taken from me. Yesterday, today, today, today, today, I think they will have to pay for business.’

A syrup seller said that 7-8 people came on a five-sixth bike and demanded a fee from him and they took money from many other shops nearby and the food was taken from those who could not take money.

When asked about the complaint, Chhatra League leader Sadiq said, ‘I am not involved in any such incident. Rather, I have said in the shop shop, if someone comes to extort money in my name, let me call me.’

Another leader, Tamim, said, ‘Yesterday, I was busy with the Bangla Bike Service (bringing and taking the admission) all day yesterday. I have warned the shopkeepers that someone else can do this in my name. If someone comes to ask for money in my name, he will tie him up and call me.’

Laban said, ‘I have been with the president-general secretary for several days. I have heard that some people have paid money in my name. So I have told some shopkeepers that those who come to collect donations in my name, stop them and call me.’

Another Chhatra League leader Tauhid said, ‘It's a completely false accusation. I was with the president all day yesterday. I have not extorted even in my life. Even if it is a day of sarcasm, it will be proved that I have not taken any money from anywhere.’

Rabi Chhatra League president Mostafizur Rahman Babu said, ‘None of Sadiq, Laban and Tauhid are involved in extortion, but I don't know if Tamim has gone. If they get the evidence of the allegations against them, then they will be expelled by tomorrow.’

However, although the general secretary of the branch Chhatra League Ghalib was called several times, he did not respond.

আওয়ামী লীগ ও বিএনপি ভোটের মাঠে পরস্পরের প্রবল প্রতিপক্ষ। প্রতিবারই সংসদের ভোট সামনে রেখে এই দুই রাজনৈতিক দল নতুনভাবে সাজায় জোটের মঞ্চ। এবারও জোটে একের পর এক দল ভিড়িয়ে শক্তির জানান দিতে চাইছে দু’দলই। তবে তারা জোটের পাল্লা ভারী করতে এমন নামসর্বস্ব দল বা সংগঠনকে টানছে, যা নিয়ে চলছে হাস্যরস, দেখা দিয়েছে নানামুখী প্রশ্ন। এমনও দল আছে যাদের শুধু এক নেতাই আছেন, আর কেউ নেই। দলীয় কার্যালয়, সাংগঠনিক কমিটি কিছুই নেই। ‘খুচরা’ এসব দল নিয়ে আওয়ামী লীগ নির্বাচনমুখী আর বিএনপি আন্দোলনমুখী।

গুনে গুনে সাড়ে চার ডজন, সংখ্যাটা ৫৪। সবাই সরকারবিরোধী। এর মধ্যে আছে ‘এক নেতার এক দল’! সংগঠনের শীর্ষ নেতা হিসেবে আছেন পল্টন মোড়ের মোজা বিক্রেতা, আছেন আদম কারবারিও। কর্মসূচিতে ব্যানার ধরার মতো কর্মী নেই এমন দলও আছে। এই ৫৪ দলে যেমন আছে রাজপথের প্রধান বিরোধী শক্তি বিএনপি; তেমনি রয়েছে ঢাল নেই, তলোয়ার নেই, নিধিরাম সর্দারের মতো সংগঠন। তাদের নেই দলীয় কার্যালয়, জোটেনি নির্বাচন কমিশনের (ইসি) নিবন্ধন। তবু আওয়ামী লীগ সরকারের পদত্যাগ ও নিরপেক্ষ সরকারের অধীনে সংসদ নির্বাচনসহ ১০ দফা দাবিতে বিএনপির নেতৃত্বে যুগপৎ আন্দোলনে রয়েছে এসব রাজনৈতিক দল ও সংগঠন।

বিএনপির নেতারা বলছেন, দেশের চলমান রাজনৈতিক ও গণতান্ত্রিক সংকট কাটাতে ডান, বামসহ সব দল, সংগঠন, সুশীল, বুদ্ধিজীবী ছাড়াও সবাইকে ঐক্যবদ্ধ করতে জাতীয় ঐক্যের ঘোষণা দিয়েছে বিএনপি। এখানে নির্দিষ্ট কোনো ব্যক্তি কিংবা গোষ্ঠী নয়, সবাইকে নিয়েই এগোতে চাইছে দলটি। তাই জোট, দল, সংগঠন কিংবা ব্যক্তির সংখ্যাতত্ত্ব দিয়ে বিএনপি তাদের চলমান গণতন্ত্র পুনরুদ্ধারের আন্দোলনকে পরিমাপ করছে না; গুরুত্ব দিচ্ছে ঐক্যকে।

এ প্রসঙ্গে সুশাসনের জন্য নাগরিক (সুজন) সম্পাদক ড. বদিউল আলম মজুমদার বলেন, ‘এখন দেশে রাজনীতিতে অনেক রকম খেলা হয় এবং হচ্ছে। আসলে এ দেশের রাজনৈতিক দলগুলো নীতি-আদর্শ থেকে বিচ্যুত হয়ে শুধু ক্ষমতার জন্য রাজনীতি করছে। নীতি-আদর্শ থাকলে দেশের রাজনৈতিক অবস্থা এমন হতো না। সুবিধা আদায়ের জন্য রাজনৈতিক কর্মসূচির বাইরে এ রকম আরও অনেক দলের সৃষ্টি হচ্ছে।’

বিএনপির স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য নজরুল ইসলাম খান বলেন, জনগণের ভোটাধিকার থেকে শুরু করে সব নাগরিক অধিকার ক্ষুণ্ণ করা হচ্ছে। এ অবস্থা থেকে মুক্তি পেতে সবাইকে ঐক্যবদ্ধ হতে হবে। যার যে অবস্থান থেকে প্রতিবাদ করতে হবে। সেখানে কে কত বড়, সেটা মুখ্য বিষয় নয়। মূলত এই সরকারের হাত থেকে দেশকে রক্ষা করতে যারাই এগিয়ে আসবে, তাদেরই সাধুবাদ জানাব। সেটা সংগঠন হতে পারে, পেশাজীবী কিংবা ব্যক্তিও হতে পারেন।

জানা গেছে, বিএনপির যুগপৎ আন্দোলনে সাতদলীয় জোট গণতন্ত্র মঞ্চ, ১২ দলীয় জোট, ১২ দলীয় জাতীয়তাবাদী সমমনা জোট, চার দলের বাম গণতান্ত্রিক ঐক্য, ১৫ সংগঠনের সমমনা গণতান্ত্রিক জোট ছাড়াও এলডিপি, গণফোরাম রয়েছে। বিএনপির যুগপৎ আন্দোলনে আনুষ্ঠানিক ঘোষণা না থাকলেও একই দাবিতে ভিন্ন প্ল্যাটফর্মে আন্দোলন করছে জামায়াত। এসব জোট ও দলের মধ্যে মাত্র সাতটি ইসি নিবন্ধিত। ১৩টি বিভিন্ন দলের খণ্ডিত অংশ। আবার সাম্যবাদী দল ও ইসলামী ঐক্যজোট রয়েছে দুই জোটেই। সমমনা গণতান্ত্রিক জোটের ১৫ সংগঠন কোনো রাজনৈতিক দল নয়। তারা বিভিন্ন ইস্যুতে জাতীয় প্রেস ক্লাবকেন্দ্রিক আলোচনা সভা, মানববন্ধনের মতো বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচি পালন করছে।

৫৪ ঘোড়ার ডিম!: সরকারবিরোধী যুগপৎ আন্দোলনের অংশ হিসেবে ৫৪ দল গণমিছিল ও গণঅবস্থান কর্মসূচি পালন করলেও বিএনপিসহ কয়েকটি দল বাদে এসব জোটের নেতাকর্মীর উপস্থিতি ছিল হতাশাজনক। ১২ দলীয় দুই জোটের সর্বশেষ গণঅবস্থানে ১০০ নেতাকর্মীও ছিল না। এ নিয়ে ক্ষমতাসীন দলের নেতারা যেমন ঠাট্টা-বিদ্রুপ করছেন, তেমনি বিএনপির নেতাকর্মীরাও এসব জোটের অস্তিত্ব নিয়ে অসন্তোষ দেখিয়েছেন।

জোটের এই অবস্থা নিয়ে বিএনপির সর্বোচ্চ নীতিনির্ধারণী ফোরাম জাতীয় স্থায়ী কমিটির বৈঠকেও উষ্ফ্মা প্রকাশ করেন নেতারা। বিশেষ করে ১৫ সংগঠনের জোট নিয়ে ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করেন তাঁরা। কার পরামর্শে, কার উদ্যোগে এই কাজ করা হয়েছে- তা নিয়েও নেতারা কথা বলেন।

এদিকে আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক ওবায়দুল কাদের সম্প্রতি উপহাস করে বলেছেন, ৫৪ রাজনৈতিক দল আজকে শেখ হাসিনার বিরুদ্ধে অবস্থান নিয়েছে। তাদের অবস্থানে কী হবে? ঘোড়ার ডিম পাড়বে। ৫৪টা ঘোড়ার ডিম পাড়বে ৫৪ বিরোধী দল। এর মধ্যে নয়াপল্টনে মোটামুটি অবস্থান ছিল, অন্যরা ভুয়া।

জোটে যারা, কেমন কারা: গণতন্ত্র মঞ্চের সাত দলের মধ্যে জাতীয় সমাজতান্ত্রিক দল (জেএসডি) ও বিপ্লবী ওয়ার্কার্স পার্টি ইসিতে নিবন্ধিত। এর বাইরে নাগরিক ঐক্য, গণসংহতি আন্দোলন, গণঅধিকার পরিষদ, ভাসানী অনুসারী পরিষদ ও রাষ্ট্র সংস্কার আন্দোলন রয়েছে নিবন্ধনের বাইরে।

জোটের নেতা আ স ম আবদুর রব, মাহমুদুর রহমান মান্না, কমরেড সাইফুল হক, জোনায়েদ সাকি, ড. রেজা কিবরিয়া আর ভিপি নুরুল হক নুরের মতো হেভিওয়েট নেতা থাকলেও রাজপথে তাঁদের কর্মী নেই। শেষ গণমিছিল আর গণঅবস্থানের মতো বড় দুটি কর্মসূচিতে নেতাকর্মীর অবস্থানের প্রতিফলন ঘটাতে পারেনি এ জোট। এ নিয়ে এরই মধ্যে জোটের ভেতর সন্দেহ-অবিশ্বাস আর দূরত্ব সৃষ্টি হয়েছে।

জোটের শরিক পাঁচ রাজনৈতিক দল বেশ কয়েক বছর রাজপথে বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচি পালন করলেও অন্য দুটি সংগঠন হিসেবেই কাজ করেছে বিগত দিনে। এর মধ্যে ভাসানী অনুসারী পরিষদের কমিটি ভেঙে সম্প্রতি রাজনৈতিক আদল দেওয়া হয়েছে। ইসিতে নিবন্ধনের জন্য আবেদনও করা হয়েছে। রাষ্ট্র সংস্কার আন্দোলনও একই অবস্থা। তবে এই দলটির ব্যাপ্তি মুষ্টিমেয় কয়েকজন নেতাকর্মীতেই সীমাবদ্ধ।

১২ দলীয় জোটের মধ্যে কল্যাণ পার্টি ও মুসলিম লীগ ইসি নিবন্ধিত। তবে মুসলিম লীগ দ্বিখণ্ডিত হয়ে উভয় জোটের মধ্যেই আছে। কোন পক্ষের হাতে নিবন্ধন রয়েছে, তা স্পষ্ট নয়। দলটির সভাপতি এইচ এম কামরুজ্জামান খান মারা যাওয়ার পর এর জৌলুস আরও কমেছে। নেতাকর্মী নেই বললেই চলে। দশম সংসদ নির্বাচনের আগে জাতীয় পার্টি থেকে বেরিয়ে আসা নেতাদের নিয়ে জাপা (কাজী জাফর) অংশ রাজনীতিতে সক্রিয়। তবে হেভিওয়েট নেতা থাকলেও কর্মী নেই অবস্থা দলটির। নেই দলীয় কার্যালয়ও। প্রয়াত নেতা শফিউল আলম প্রধানের মৃত্যুর মধ্য দিয়ে তাঁর গড়া জাতীয় গণতান্ত্রিক দলও (জাগপা) দুই টুকরা। বাতিল হয় ইসির নিবন্ধনও। এর একটি অংশে তাঁর মেয়ে ব্যারিস্টার তাসমিয়া প্রধান নেতৃত্ব দিচ্ছেন। অন্য অংশে রয়েছেন খন্দকার লুৎফর রহমান। পুরোনো হলেও এখন কর্মী সংকটে ভুগছে দলটি।

এ ছাড়া জোটের এনডিপির আবু তাহের আদম ব্যবসায়ী। গিয়েছিলেন কারাগারেও। নেই নিজস্ব কার্যালয়। ইসলামী ঐক্যজোট, ইসলামিক পার্টি দলগুলো মূল দলের খণ্ডিত অংশ। বিএনপি নেতৃত্বাধীন ২০ দলীয় জোট থেকে এসব দল বেরিয়ে যাওয়ার পর খণ্ডিত এসব দলকে জোটে রেখে জোটের কলেবর ঠিক রাখা হয় তখন। নেতাসর্বস্ব এসব দলের কর্মী নেই। সাম্যবাদী দলেরও একই হাল। কেউ চেনেন না এর নেতা কিংবা কর্মীকে। তবে সাম্যবাদী দলটি এখন এই জোটে নেই। লেবার পার্টি, জাতীয় দল, বাংলাদেশ এলডিপি নিজেদের অস্তিত্ব প্রমাণে কাজ করছে। কয়েক বছর ধরে বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচি পালনে লেবার পার্টি তৎপর রয়েছে। সাবেক এমপি আবদুল করিম আব্বাসী ও সাবেক ছাত্রনেতা শাহাদাৎ হোসেন সেলিমের নেতৃত্বে কর্নেল (অব.) অলি আহমদের এলডিপি থেকে বেরিয়ে নতুন বিএলডিপি দল গঠন করেন তাঁরা।

১২ দলীয় জাতীয়তাবাদী সমমনা জোটের অন্তর্ভুক্ত কোনো শরিক দলেরই নিবন্ধন নেই। কার্যালয় নেই বেশিরভাগ দলের। আবার বেশিরভাগ দলই মূল দল থেকে ছিটকে আসা খণ্ডিত অংশ। প্রয়াত শেখ শওকত হোসেন নীলুর এনপিপি থেকে বেরিয়ে আসা একটি অংশের নেতৃত্বে রয়েছেন ড. ফরিদুজ্জামান ফরহাদ। তিনি নীলুর নেতৃত্বাধীন দলের মহাসচিব ছিলেন। এখন তিনি এই জোটের সমন্বয়ক। জাগপার সাবেক মহাসচিব খন্দকার লুৎফর রহমানের নেতৃত্বাধীন একটি অংশ এই জোটে রয়েছে। জাগপার বেশিরভাগ নেতাকর্মী এই অংশের সঙ্গে রয়েছে। তবে নেই নিজস্ব কার্যালয়। অনেক পুরোনো দল এবং নব্বই দশকের সাবেক ছাত্রনেতা সাইফুদ্দিন আহমেদ মনির নেতৃত্বাধীন ডেমোক্রেটিক লীগ এখন আর আলোচনায় নেই। ২০ দলীয় জোট থেকে ইসলামী ঐক্যজোট বেরিয়ে গেলে একটি খণ্ডিত অংশ জোটের সঙ্গে থেকে যায়। এই অংশের নেতৃত্বে রয়েছেন দলটির সাবেক ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান অ্যাডভোকেট মাওলানা আবদুর রকিব। দলটির এমনই হাল- সংগঠনের ব্যানার পর্যন্ত সভাপতিকে টানতে হয়। আবার তাঁর দলটি ১২ দলীয় জোট ও জাতীয়তাবাদী সমমনা জোট- দুটোতেই রয়েছে। এ প্রসঙ্গে মাওলানা আবদুর রকিব বলেন, দুই জোটের উদ্দেশ্য একই হওয়ায় তিনি দুই জোটেই রয়েছেন।

একাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের আগে ২০ দলীয় জোট থেকে বেরিয়ে যাওয়া ইসি নিবন্ধিত বাংলাদেশ ন্যাপের ঢাকা মহানগরের একজন সম্পাদক পর্যায়ের নেতা এম এন শাওন সাদেকীর নেতৃত্বে গঠিত একটি অংশ জোটে থেকে যায়। তাঁর যেমন রাজনৈতিক পরিচিতি নেই, তেমন নেই কোনো কার্যালয়। একাদশ নির্বাচনের আগে বি. চৌধুরীর নেতৃত্বাধীন বিকল্পধারা বাংলাদেশ থেকে বেরিয়ে যাওয়া দলটির প্রেসিডিয়াম সদস্য ও ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধ্যাপক ড. নুরুল আমিন বেপারী এবং দলটির যুগ্ম মহাসচিব ও সাবেক ছাত্রনেতা অ্যাডভোকেট শাহ আহমেদ বাদলের বিকল্পধারার নেই কোনো কার্যালয়। নেই গঠনতন্ত্র। নেতাকর্মীর উপস্থিতিও দেখা যায় না। নোটারি পাবলিক সংগঠনের নেতা আজহারুল ইসলামের নেতৃত্বাধীন ন্যাপ-ভাসানীর নেই কোনো দলীয় কার্যালয় ও নেতাকর্মী। জাতীয় পার্টির সাবেক ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান এ টি এম গোলাম মাওলা চৌধুরীর নেতৃত্বাধীন গণদল। ‘গণদল’ নাম রাখলেও সংগঠনটির নেই কোনো নেতা, নেই কর্মী।

১৫ সংগঠনের সমমনা গণতান্ত্রিক জোটে বেশিরভাগেরই অস্তিত্ব নেই। ওয়ান-ইলেভেনপরবর্তী বছরগুলোতে জাতীয় প্রেস ক্লাবভিত্তিক কোনো কর্মসূচিও ছিল না তাদের। এরপরও কী প্রক্রিয়ায় এসব সংগঠনকে নিয়ে জোট গঠন করা হয়েছে, তা নিয়ে খোদ বিএনপির মধ্যেই তুষের আগুন জ্বলছে। এমনকি প্রেস ক্লাবভিত্তিক জাতীয়তাবাদী আদর্শের অন্য সংগঠনের নেতাকর্মীও এ নিয়ে বিএনপির শীর্ষ নেতাদের কাছে অভিযোগ তুলেছেন। এর পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে দলের নীতিনির্ধারণী ফোরামে বিষয়টি উত্থাপন করেন তাঁরা।

জানা গেছে, এই জোটের সমন্বয়ক ইয়ুথ ফোরামের সভাপতি সাইদুর রহমান। আগে কিছু সংগঠনের ইস্যুভিত্তিক তৎপরতা থাকলেও বেশিরভাগেরই পরিচিতি নেই। এমনকি তাঁদের কোনো কর্মকাণ্ডও ছিল না। যাদের পরিচয় নিশ্চিত করা গেছে, তাদের মধ্যে ‘ঘুরে দাঁড়াও বাংলাদেশ’ সংগঠনের সভাপতি কাদের সিদ্দিকী জাতীয়তাবাদী কৃষক দলের কেন্দ্রীয় ধর্মবিষয়ক সম্পাদক। তিনি এ সংগঠনের বিষয়ে কিছু জানেন না বলে জানান। ‘মুভমেন্ট ফর ডেমোক্রেসি’ সংগঠনের সভাপতি রিয়াজ উদ্দিন আহমেদ মাগুরা কৃষক দলের সাবেক যুগ্ম সম্পাদক। ‘বাংলাদেশ যুব ঐক্য পরিষদ’ সংগঠনের সভাপতি ওমর ফারুক একসময় পল্টন মোড়ে মোজা বিক্রি করতেন। ‘জাতীয়তাবাদী চালক দলের সভাপতি হিসেবে মো. শাহজাহানের নাম উল্লেখ থাকলেও মূলত এই সংগঠনের সভাপতি বাবু রেজা। এসব সংগঠনের বাইরে গণতন্ত্র রক্ষা মঞ্চ, বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী নাগরিক দল বিভিন্ন সময় কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করে বলে জানা গেছে।

এই জোটের সমন্বয়ক সাইদুর রহমান জানান, তাঁর জোটের সবক’টি সংগঠনই সক্রিয়। বিগত দিনে তাঁরা অনেক কর্মসূচি পালন করেছে। যেটা বলা হচ্ছে, সেটা অপপ্রচার।

The strike called the strike and made the people suffer. Today, the same is the one who canceled the caretaker government and is talking in the opposite way.’

He said, ‘They (Awami League) will not be good, they are not going to be good. 10 taka per kg was supposed to be 70 taka per kg. It is not a good sign. They said that they have given jobs from house to house. They have filed cases in house to house. Our leaders and activists have filed a case in jail. Our leaders and workers said to give fertilizers freely, the price of fertilizers has increased a hundredfold. Farmers do not get fair price for their crops. They also take taxes from the dirt that is given from their homes. They also take taxes from beggars on the roads.’

BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Krishak Dal General Secretary Shahidul Islam Babul, Fishermen's Party Member Secretary Abdur Rahim, Joint Convener Zakir Hossain Khan, Omar Farooq and other leaders of Dhaka North South Fishermen's Party were present.

Criticizing the increase in electricity prices, BNP Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu said, "The electricity price increase must be withdrawn. Otherwise, the electricity bills will be stopped along with the people. I will not pay the electricity bills."

Referring to the confiscation of the deposit of the boat candidate in the Rangpur city election, Bulu said, "The people of Bangladesh do not want to see vote thieves anymore. If the election is fair, the Awami League will not get even 30 seats. That is why people are trying to divert their attention by filing cases."

Addressing the Awami League, Bulu said, "In 2018, you were illegally in power by voting during the day and at night. Today, you are riding on the back of a tiger. There is a way to get off the tiger's back. Apologize for the indecency you have done to Khaleda Zia, the injustice you have done to her family, and create a political situation in Bangladesh. Resign and hand over power to the caretaker government and arrange for a free, impartial and fair election in the country. Protect the sovereignty of the country's independence."

BNP executive committee member Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah and many others spoke at the human chain, chaired by the organization's convener Khalilur Rahman VP Ibrahim.
