Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has decided to keep the wholesale price of electricity unchanged and decided at 11 am on Thursday morning at 11 am in the morning at the 11 am virtual press conference.

Earlier, the current price of Bangladesh Electricity Development Board (BPDB) in the public hearing applied for a price of Tk 8.58 per unit to 8.58 per unit. This proposal of BPDB is considered Tk 4.45 per unit. After that proposal, the price of gas per unit increased to 57.55. The BERC Technical Committee has an opinion of 8.16 rupees to make the subsidy of 8.16 rupees. There has never been a precedent for the price increase of such a large amount in the past. After verification, BERC prepared a proposal to increase the price of 19.92 percent. However, BERC has withdrawn from there for various reasons including recent load shedding.
Before this, the price of electricity was increased by 27th February 2020. Electricity, retail and transmission - electricity prices will increase in these three stages. General customer level (retail) electricity price per unit is 5.3 percent or 7 taka 13 pa.
