Voting in four municipalities and one upazila on November 2 using EVMs
Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) elections will be held in four municipalities and one upazila parishad of the country.
The schedule of the polls held on November 2 has already been announced. The Election Commission (EC) Deputy Secretary of the Election Management Branch. Atitar Rahman said, the last date of submission of nomination papers is October 6, the selection of nomination papers is October 10, the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is October 17.
The polling will be held on November 2. The four municipalities that will be held are - Parvatipur in Dinajpur, Vishwanath in Sylhet, Fatikchai in Chittagong and Hazrabai of Melandah Upazila of Jamalpur.
Deputy Secretary of EC. Atitar Rahman said that all the elections will be held in electronic voting machines.
The district election officer has been appointed as the returning officer of these municipal elections and the concerned upazila election officer will fulfill the responsibility of the assistant returning officer.
And the title of Assistant Returning Officer is given to Karnaphuli Upazila Election Officer. Meanwhile, Election Commission (EC) has been fixed on October 12 for polling in four Union Parishads (UPs) which are suspended and Hemnagar of Gopalpur Upazila of Tangail and Chambal and Satkanta Upazila of Chittagong's Banshkhali Upazila.
Among these, two other posts of chetterman Chaa in Aochta UP will be held in the direction of the return officer to start the activities from the stage at which the election was postponed.
