‘'Law is being amended to judge Jamaat as a party'’

Dhaka:

Law Minister Anisul Haque said that the law minister said that the law is being amended as a political party to try it as a political party? We have drafted it and the Cabinet will be presented if the Prime Minister's instructions are received.

He said this in response to questions from reporters during an exchange of views with officials at the secretariat on Wednesday (January 9).

The law minister said that the law that was made in 1973 was for the trial of those who are against humanity in the International Criminal Tribunal. The law was not done to try the Jamaat as a party. But when the constitution was framed in 1972, the demand was made a ‘band’.

‘ In view of the demand that the Jamaat is involved in war crimes as Jamaat parties, I said that there is no trial in the existing law. So we will give hand to the amendment in the last election. We will send some legal words to the law department. Later, we have prepared the cabinet and the cabinet will be issued after receiving the instructions of the Prime Minister.’

Meanwhile, the minister also opined that the law commission was commissioned to find those behind the murder of Bangabandhu and the killing of the district.

Those who were behind the killing of Bangabandhu, those who were behind the killing of the district should be identified and brought to the purview of justice or such an order so that people can at least get the message that they are wrong or If they are involved in other things, they will be tried in this country. This is one of the work of the law department.

He said if If I can't identify those behind the scenes, I will not be able to get out of the mechanism like on August 15, 1975, I will not be able to get out of that shadow.

The Digital Security Act has not been made against journalists. The minister said that some clauses were amended in the face of the demands of the journalists with the help of the previous leaders, but this time the minister changed his tone and said that we are more careful not to misuse the law in order to correct the law.
