Sheikh Hasina hopes for Teesta agreement soon

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has termed Bangladesh-India bilateral relations as a role model for neighboring diplomacy.

Sheikh Hasina has expressed hope that all the unsolved problems between the two countries, including the signing of the Teesta water sharing agreement, will be resolved soon.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting at Haddarabad House in New Delhi on Tuesday. The Prime Ministers of the two countries gave a joint statement after the meeting.

Sheikh Hasina said in her statement, ‘I am saying again that Bangladesh is the most important and closest neighbor of Bangladesh. Bangladesh-India bilateral relations are known as a role model of neighboring diplomacy.’ Mentioning that in the last decade, the two countries have made significant progress in several areas, the Bangladesh head of government said that the two countries have solved many unresolved problems.

About the bilateral meeting with Narendra Modi, Sheikh Hasina said, ‘We have held a meeting with an attitude of close friendship and cooperation. We have discussed in a wide bilateral poison to advance our relationship.’
