Commenting on the fact that there is no party that can defeat the Awami League, Prime Minister's Information and Technology Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy said that there is no party that is even close to the Awami League in popularity. Joy said, "I conducted a survey and found that the Awami League is much more popular. The Awami League will do better in the next election than in the 2008 election. There is no party that can defeat the Awami League." He said these things after a meeting with party leaders at Awami League President Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi political office this afternoon.

Sajeeb Wazed Joy said, "We have seen in the past that BNP has set fire to the party and has conspired. Countering this conspiracy is a challenge. If the Awami League is united, no one can defeat it." Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif and other central leaders of the party were present at the time.
