English question leak: 3 madrasa teachers sentenced to prison

A mobile court in Kasba Upazila of Brahmanbaria has sentenced three teachers to 15 days in prison and a photocopy shop owner to two years for leaking questions during the entrance exam. The accused teachers sent the questions to the photocopy shop within minutes of the exam starting.

The sentence was handed down by the mobile court's executive magistrate and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Hasina Islam on Saturday (February 9) afternoon.

The convicted are Abdul Qayyum (42), Nurul Amin (40) and Hafizul Islam (25), teachers of Mehari Ubaidia Dakhil Madrasa in the upazila, and Mohsin Rifat, owner of a photocopy shop.

UNO Hasina Islam confirmed the matter and said that after receiving a call on number 333, a raid was conducted at a photocopy shop next to the center and the English first paper questions and copies were found. After arresting the shop owner, Mohsin Rifat, he said that three teachers had provided the questions and answers. Later, according to the information he gave, the three teachers were arrested and sentenced to 15 days in prison and the shop owner to two years.

The executive magistrate also said that they were later handed over to the Kasba police station.
