Bangladesh Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed has called for being always ready to face the challenges of the 21st century through modern and up-to-date training.
He made the call at the regimental color presentation ceremony of six units of the Bangladesh Army at Rajshahi Cantonment on Wednesday (November 30) morning.
Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin congratulated the units that received the regimental color and said, "On this special day, I remember with utmost respect the greatest Bengali of all time, the great architect of independent Bangladesh, and the great hero of the Liberation War, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman."
At the same time, I remember the three million brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the great war of independence.
He further said, "Dear Bangladesh, under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is moving forward at a rapid pace. The Bangladesh Army is being expanded and modernized to implement Forces Goal-2030. According to the military tradition of the army, receiving the regimental color is a matter of great pride for any unit."
He urged everyone to always be prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century through modern and up-to-date training.
Finally, the Army Chief thanked everyone involved for displaying an orderly, pleasant and colorful parade on the occasion of presenting the Regimental Colors.
The Army Chief then delivered the inaugural address to the commanders and other officers of the Bangladesh Infantry Regiment present at the annual commanders' conference at the Bangladesh Infantry Regimental Center and exchanged views on the development of the regiment, enhancement of professional skills, and various activities conducted at home and abroad.
The Army Chief recalled the glorious tradition of the Bangladesh Infantry Regiment and its active contribution to the service of the motherland. He urged all members of this regiment to be always ready to face the challenges of the 21st century through modern and up-to-date training.
