Robber killed in internal clash in Kamalnagar, weapons recovered

Lakshmipur: A fugitive convict, Main Uddin Manu (44), who was serving a life sentence in a shootout between robbers over 'internal strife and dominance' in Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur, was shot dead by a robber. A pipe gun and two rounds of live cartridges were recovered from the scene.
His body was recovered from the abandoned house of Matlab Majhi in Char Kadira Union of the upazila at around 2:15 am on Wednesday (February 13).
The deceased, Main Uddin (Manu Dakat), is the son of Sultan Ahmed Patwari of Ward No. 7 of Char Kadira Union.
Kamalnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC/Investigation) Md. Alamgir Hossain said that the shooting incident took place at the abandoned house of Matlab Majhi adjacent to Dina Majhi's Kheaghat in Ward No. 7 of Char Kadira Union due to internal conflict and dominance of the robbers. When the police reached the spot on information, the robbers fled. At that time, the robber Manu was rescued with bullet wounds. A pipe gun and two rounds of live cartridges were found at the spot. Later, the bullet-wounded Manu was taken to Kamalnagar Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. His body has been sent to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital morgue. The robber Manu was a fugitive convict serving a life sentence. There are 5 cases against him in Feni, Chatkhil in Noakhali, Lakshmipur Sadar and Kamalnagar police stations, said the OC.
