Lakshmipur: Five JSC candidates were injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw and a pickup van in Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur.
The accident occurred at around 9:15 am on Monday (November 6) in Kamalnagar on the Ramgati-Lakshmipur road. All the injured are said to be students of Udayan High School in the upazila.
The injured examinees are Laiju Akhter, Aklima, Helal, Mousumi and Sohag.
Kamalnagar Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Touhidul Islam said that in the morning, when the JSC examinees were coming to the Torabganj High School examination center in a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw, they collided head-on with a pickup van coming from the opposite direction. Five JSC examinees and the auto-rickshaw driver were injured on the spot.
Later, with the help of locals, four candidates took part in their exams after receiving first aid from Kamalnagar Upazila Health Complex. However, Laiju Akhter, who was seriously injured in the accident, is undergoing treatment at Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital, he said.
