Motorcyclist shot in Companyganj, 2 injured

The miscreants shot the motorcycle in the companyganj upazila of Sylhet, which killed two people with a bullet wound.

The incident took place at around 8 o'clock on Tuesday night in the Muluk Nagar area between the village of East Islampur Union of Companyganj and Gachghar village.

The injured are motorcycle driver Saddam Hossain (32) son of deceased Lal Mita of Khatergaon village of East Islampur Union of the upazila and Nazir Mita (34) son of deceased Moti Mita of the same village.

Saddam Hossain's relative Sadek Mita said that the injured were rescued by the locals and first admitted to Companyganj Upazila Hospital and later to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

The injured Najir said they carried passengers on a motorcycle and on the way back at night, a group of people tried to rob the motorcycle after stopping them, they shot and stabbed him.

Companyganj OC Sukanth Chakraborty said that the police went there after the incident, which caused trouble among the drivers due to the incident.
