Planning Minister MA Mannan has said that the process of inviting international tenders for the Dhaka-Sylhet six-lane road has begun. He said that the Dhaka-Sylhet highway is not originally a four-lane road, but a six-lane project with two service lanes. The work on this project will start soon.
The Planning Minister made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting and inauguration ceremony of the Sylhet committee organized by the Narcotics Control Organization (MANAS) Sylhet branch on Thursday.
Planning Minister MA Mannan said that radical changes have been achieved across the country in the last 12 years through development work. Regarding the development of Sylhet, the minister said that the much-awaited Sylhet-Sunamganj rail link will be established. The railway line will pass through the haor. First, the railway line will be extended from Sylhet to Sunamganj and later to Mohanganj in Netrokona.
