UP chairman shot dead in Narsingdi

Miscreants shot dead Mirzachar UP Chairman Zafar Iqbal Manik (50) of Ratapura Upazila of Narsingdi District in the afternoon.
The murder took place at around 5:30 pm on Saturday (December 3) at Shantipur Bazar, the brother of the deceased Chetman Manik, who confirmed the incident, said that due to the previous enmity, the opponents of the opponent Mirzachar Unitan Awtami League, Md. Feroz Mita, were shot dead by supporters of the attack. The body was recovered and sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue.

The deceased Zafar Iqbal Manik was the son of deceased Abdul Motalib Mitalib of Mirzachar Uniner of Raztapura Upazila of Narsingdi district, he was elected as Chairman from Mirzachar Unit Parishad twice in a row and he was the president of the Awami Jubo League of the same unit.

This led to a dispute between the two parties, and the people supported by Feroze were in the area since the Union Parishad elections.
On Friday, the two parties held a meeting at the request of the dignitaries of the area and the people of Feroze got up from the meeting without complying. Manik went to Shantipur market on Saturday afternoon.
Mirzachar Unit Aomi League General Secretary Feroz Mita called several times on his mobile phone and it was switched off, so it was not possible to take his statement.
