Witness in murder case injured in shooting in Narsingdi

A witness was injured in the shooting of the accused while testifying in a murder case in Narsingdi. The incident took place on Friday (October 14) afternoon in Panchdona of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. The injured Sajib Mia (30) is the son of Dulal Mia of Asmandirchar area of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. He was one of the witnesses in the controversial Arif Pathan murder case in Shibpur. The relatives of the injured said that Sajib was going to the mosque for Friday prayers. On the way, when he reached in front of Panchdona School, a group of terrorists led by Titu, the main accused in the murder case, Masud and Palash, who had taken a position in advance, attacked Sajib with country-made weapons. At that time, when he ran away, they opened fire and left. Later, people around rescued him and took him to Narsingdi District Hospital. Dr. Tasrifa Amrin Haque Antara, the on-duty doctor of Narsingdi District Hospital, said that a person named Sajib Mia was given primary treatment in the emergency department in the afternoon. Although the patient mentioned the shooting, we are not sure. The cause of the injury has been determined and sent to Dhaka Medical College for advanced treatment. Narsingdi Additional Superintendent of Police Al-Amin said in this regard, we have received information. The police have visited the scene. Legal action will be taken after investigation. It is worth noting that on April 1, 2015, the then UP member of Putia Union in Shibpur, Arif Hossain Pathan, was killed in a shooting by terrorists. His younger brother Roman Pathan filed a murder case as the plaintiff. Titu, Masud and Palash, along with a few others, were made accused in the case. One of the witnesses in this case was Sajib Mia, who was injured in the shooting.
