AB Party applies to EC for registration

My Bangladesh Party has submitted an application to the Election Commission (EC) to register for the parliamentary elections.

Today, Monday (October 17), the party's convener AFM Solaiman Chowdhury submitted the application to EC Deputy Secretary Md. Abdul Halim Khan at the Election Building.

After submitting the application, he said, "We have submitted a total of 45,000 documents to the EC. We have tried to fulfill all the conditions to get registration."

AB Party member secretary Mujibur Rahman Manju said that AB Party is not loyal to either Jamaat or the government.

AB Party leaders said that as per the conditions given by the Election Commission, the party constitution, proposed flag and symbol, address and ownership or rental documents or agreements of the central office, list of central committee and central executive committee, at least one-third (22) district committees, 100 upazila committees, list of at least 200 registered voter members from 100 upazilas, i.e. a total of 22,000, their voter numbers and party membership certificates, addresses and ownership or rental documents or agreements of 122 party offices in districts and upazilas, party bank accounts and latest transaction status, and all other relevant documents have been submitted.

New parties can apply for registration until the 29th of this month. It is known that about 20 parties have already applied.
