Lakshmipur: A brutal robbery took place at the house of a journalist named Abu Taher in Ramganj, Lakshmipur. The family claims that the items worth 1.5 lakh taka including a laptop, 6 mobile phones, gold ornaments, necessary furniture and cash were stolen. The theft took place late on Tuesday night in Paschim Shoshalia village of Darbeshpur union no. 7 of the upazila. Journalist Abu Taher is the son of Abdur Latif of the village and the Ramganj correspondent of the national daily Manab Zamin. Journalist Taher said that around 2:30 am, when everyone was asleep, a group of thieves broke into the house and entered the house. Taking advantage of everyone being asleep, the group of thieves stole a laptop, 6 mobile phones, gold ornaments and cash including 1.5 lakh taka from the house and fled. Later, when they woke up in the morning, they found everything in the house in disarray. Everything had been stolen. The affected family has sought the intervention of the administration to arrest the thieves and recover the stolen items. Ramganj Police Station Inspector (OC Investigation) Jafar Ahmed said that police were sent to the scene after receiving news of the theft. Legal action will be taken after receiving a written complaint from the victim's family.
