A student of Qawmi Madrasa escaped from the hands of kidnappers in Bashikpur Union of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila. The incident took place at Jakshin Bazar on Sunday evening.

The child students are Md. Zahirul Islam, son of Tajul Islam, Md. Fahim, son of Ali Ahmed, and Md. Raihan, son of Mohiuddin.

Students and locals said that three students of Bashikpur Qawmi Madrasa left the madrasa to buy tissue paper from a shop. At that time, masked men who were already waiting in a CNG van grabbed the three students and pulled them into the CNG van. When the CNG van reached the Jokshin Bazar, it got stuck in a traffic jam. At that time, the three students screamed when they saw people around them. At one point, when people in the market heard the screams, the kidnappers ran away, leaving the children behind.

Poddar Bazar Police Station In-charge Md. Anwar Hossain said, "The child students have been rescued and taken into police custody. The superintendent of the madrasa and the parents of the three children have been informed."
