Police are looking for that 'big brother' in Lakshmipur

The police have launched a search operation to find the 'big brother', Arman Hossain, who introduced himself as a Chhatra League leader, and his followers.

It is alleged that Arman, who introduced himself as a Chhatra League leader, has been creating chaos in the area by attacking people for no reason or reason. Most recently, Arman and his followers have hacked to death two brothers named Sharif Uddin and Md. Mohan.

Meanwhile, on Sunday (November 6) afternoon, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mahfuzzaman Ashraf himself went to Arman's house to arrest him. At that time, the SP was accompanied by the officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar Model Police Station, Mosleh Uddin. Later, the police arrested a suspect named Hasan. However, it was not possible to arrest Arman as he was absconding.

The accused Arman is the son of Zahirul Islam of Charmansa village in Bhabaniganj union of Sadar upazila. Although he identifies himself as a Chhatra League leader, he does not hold any rank or title. It is learnt from locals that he has an active force.

Local sources have said that for a long time, Arman has formed a gang in Charbhuta and Charmansa villages and has been committing various crimes including extortion, vandalism, drug sales and consumption. He has beaten people for no reason. There are various allegations against him, including harassing school and madrasa students on the streets. The locals have directly complained to the Superintendent of Police.

Laxmipur Superintendent of Police (SP) Mahfuzzaman Ashraf said, "I have heard that Arman has created a gang by introducing himself as the elder brother in the area. He wants to create anarchy in the area. That will never be allowed to happen. One of the members of that group named Hasan has been arrested. The juvenile gang members will be dealt with firmly."
