Sheikh Russell's birthday is today

The 59th birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Shaheed Sheikh Russell, is Tuesday.

According to a decision of the Cabinet Division, Bangabandhu's youngest son Sheikh Russell's birthday (October 18) has been celebrated as ‘Sheikh Russell Day’ since last year. This year's theme is ‘Sheikh Russell is the symbol of serenity, fiercely lively and fearless.’

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's younger brother Sheikh Russell was born on this day in 1964 at Bangabandhu Bhavan, a historic memorial-bridged in Dhanmondi. On the occasion of the day, Awami League and its affiliated organization Chao have taken up extensive programs.

On this occasion, today Tuesday (October 18) at 9 am in Banani Cemetery, the eternal sleep of wreaths, including the eternal sleep of Sheikh Russell, was performed on the graves of all the martyrs, including the celebrating, Milad and Dota Mahfil.

In a statement on this issue, General Secretary of Awtami League and Minister of Transport and Bridges Obatadul Quader has requested the support of the party leaders and workers to participate in the program organized on the occasion of the happy birthday of Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who has been requesting the support and people of all walks of life.

Along with that, he has also called upon the leaders and workers of all levels of Aomi League and allied organizations across the country to hold various programs around the day.
