As the 12th National Parliament elections approach, the heat in politics is increasing. The country's political parties are constantly holding meetings and rallies. In the past few days, the movement to topple the BNP government has been at the center of discussion.
The situation in the capital is currently tense ahead of the BNP rally to be held in Dhaka on December 10. In the meantime, the police have taken various steps to avoid any untoward incident and have set up a tight security perimeter around the party office in Nayapaltan and its surrounding areas.
Although the time for the rally is approaching, the venue has not yet been decided. However, the police have given permission to the BNP to hold the rally in Suhrawardy under 26 conditions. However, the BNP is adamant about holding the rally in Nayapaltan as per its previously announced decision. In such a situation, the BNP is still waiting for a new venue other than Suhrawardy Udyan and Nayapaltan to hold the divisional mass rally in Dhaka on December 10.
BNP Publicity Secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie could not reach any decision even after an hour-long discussion with the DC of Motijheel Zone of the police from 4 pm to 5 pm on Monday (December 5). However, Annie said that the matter will be discussed with the DC of Motijheel Zone tomorrow (December 6) as well.
