The newly prestigious legendary lyricist, filmmaker and producer Gazi Mazharul Anoor is given a state tribute ‘guard of honor’.
Today Monday (September 5) around 11 o'clock, his body was brought to the central Shaheed Minar, where the poet was given the ‘Guard of Honor’.
Many artists from the culture arena were present in the premises of Esmt Shaheed Minar, including Sabina Itasmin, Kumar Biswajit, Monir Khan, Naqeeb Khan, Asif Iqbal, Sheikh Sadi Khan, Manam Ahmed, Eamon Saha and many others.
They also paid tribute to the lyricist as well as reminiscing in tears, and the general people of various professions also came to pay their respects to Gazi Mazharul Anno.
Coming to pay tribute, the president of the Combined Cultural Alliance, Golam Kudduch, said, ‘‘By showing this respect, we want to say that even if one goes physically, an artist will not die, his patriotism is unrivaled.
In 1971 he ‘JUB Bangla Bangla’ Written by the liberation war, he brought poetry in the film where commercial, wherever he is commercial, he has enriched our songs.’’
