Anwar Hossain Howlader, Secretary of the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, said that dengue control is not the job of the Health Ministry.
He said that many people in Dhaka eat dub, which is often not cleaned. This increases the incidence of Aedes mosquitoes. Dengue control is not our job, we provide services.
The Health Secretary also said, "Maybe everything doesn't always happen, but we try. But everyone has to do the work of preventing (dengue). We can't panic. If it can be identified early, it is much easier to treat."
Anwar Hossain Howlader said, "It is still raining intermittently. When it rains regularly, water accumulates, which gives birth to Aedes mosquitoes. Everyone should be careful so that mosquitoes do not breed in their homes."
The survey data was presented at the press conference by Professor Dr. Nazmul Islam, Director of the Department's Disease Control Branch. He said that 13 wards of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and 14 wards of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) are more vulnerable to dengue. Nazmul Islam said that a survey was conducted in 3,150 houses at a total of 110 sites, including 48 sites in 40 wards of DNCC and 62 sites in 58 wards of DSCC. The 10-day survey was conducted by the Department of Health through 21 teams.
