Farmer killed, 1 injured in lightning strike in Lakshmipur

Working in paddy fields in Lakshmipur is lightning. A farmer named Hanif (65) died in the incident, another person named Bellal Hossain was injured and he was admitted to Sadar Hospital.

The incident took place in Andharmanik village of Teotariganj Unit of Sadar Upazila on Tuesday (September 27) afternoon.

Later in the evening around 7 o'clock Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mustafa Kamal and Teoariganj UP Chairman Omar Farooq Ibn Hussain confirmed the poison.

The deceased Hanif was a resident of Motirhat area of Charkalkini Uniton of Kamalnagar Upazila and the detailed identity of the injured Belal is known.

Locals said that Hanif died on the spot when he was doing agricultural work in the afternoon, and he was later admitted to Sadar Hospital.

Laxmipur Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mustafa Kamal said one person died due to lightning while the other injured was being treated at the hospital where police have been sent to the spot and they will actually know the details.
